Apartment was accurate to the listing. Host was readily available when I had questions. The apartment was cute and clean. Just wish it was walkable to the restaurants and shopping areas.

Thank you Phillip for your kind words. Im so glad that you and your wife got to enjoy my apartment. I would love to host you again if you are ever back in town.
I really love staying here, I was expecting there to be a grill or access to a grill because of the way the listing read but it appears there was no Grill available. This would not stop me from staying here again as it was beautifully appointed and super clean. Thanks for the hospitality
Very well appointed property. On site parking. The host was sweet and helpful. Close to Rocky Mount Mills complex. Will stay there again in the future.

I would absolutely love to host you and your partner again when you are back in town. Thank you for being great guests and very respectful.
This place appears to be relatively newly renovated with all new everything inside. Provides a nice place to stay but it does seem they may be new and working out some kinks. That said, some of the small things: the outdoor lighting on the back side of the building needs some help. (There are several units in the building.) Also, no lights by the key box. In an urban setting, that felt like a safety issue. I really felt vulnerable searching for the code/keyhole because I was coming and going in the dark. There are lots of security cameras which I’m sure are a nice deterrent. Other stuff was small, like the bathroom fan was broken and I would have loved to have a place to put my suitcase besides the floor. I don’t love being asked to take my trash to the dumpster, an outside bin would be nice. Overall, I appreciate the reuse of an old building, the coffee etc and small snacks provided are a nice offering. It was a good stay, just a few tweaks would be helpful.

Hi Maria,
Thank you so much for your honest and thoughtful review! I am happy to hear you had a good stay and enjoyed the little touches we provided. We really appreciate you pointing out the lighting, key box, bathroom fan and other items, this kind of feedback really helps me know what needs attention. I will definitely be working on those things. I hope to have you stay with us again if you are ever back in town working. :)

It was my absolute pleasure hosting Andreas. He was polite, respectful and extremely funny when we spoke. I 100% recommend him to any host that he chooses to stay with as he takes great care of your property.
If he ever comes back to the States I would most certainly host him again.
We’re Skye and Bethany — best friends, sisters at heart, and the founders of Rising Aub, LLC. As moms, professionals, and passionate hosts, we know that traveling can sometimes be stressful. That’s why we’re committed to creating spaces that feel like a home away from home, where comfort, care, and connection come first.
Skye is originally from Australia and now calls Durham, NC home, working as a dedicated school teacher. Bethany is a North Carolina native living in Sanford, NC, balancing life as a project manager in accounting and data services. By day, we’re busy working — and by night, we’re busy being moms. We love beach days, backyard cookouts, staying active, and sharing laughter with loved ones.
We started Rising Aub, LLC with a bigger vision in mind: to build a legacy for our children. The name combines the names of our little ones, and everything we do is rooted in the values we hope to pass on — kindness, hard work, and hospitality with heart. One day, we hope they’ll carry this dream forward.
Thank you for considering a stay with us. We can’t wait to host you!
Why they chose this property
Rocky Mount, North Carolina, has several unique qualities that distinguish it:
1. Twin Counties: Rocky Mount is one of the few cities in the U.S. that spans two counties—Edgecombe and Nash—which influences its regional politics and development.
2. Historic Tobacco and Railroad Roots: It was a major hub for tobacco production and trade in the 19th and early 20th centuries, and its location on the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad helped it grow rapidly.
3. The Birthplace of Hardee's: The fast food chain Hardee's was founded in Rocky Mount in 1960 by Wilber Hardee.
4. Rocky Mount Mills: The city is home to one of the oldest cotton mills in the South (built in 1818), which has been revitalized into a mixed-use campus featuring breweries, restaurants, and lofts.
5. Cultural and Musical Heritage: Rocky Mount has a strong African American cultural legacy and is closely linked to notable jazz musician Thelonious Monk, who was born there.
6. Tar River: The Tar River runs through the city and provides scenic beauty, recreational opportunities, and a historical backdrop to the area’s development.
7. Rocky Mount Event Center: A major sports and entertainment venue that has become a regional draw for youth tournaments and events, boosting the city’s economic and cultural profile.
What makes this property unique
It’s All in the Details
The idea to start hosting came naturally — Skye has spent evenings and weekends cleaning Airbnbs, and in doing so, has seen firsthand what makes a stay special... and what doesn’t. Combined with our own experiences as frequent travelers, we knew we wanted to do things differently.
We focused on the little things — the thoughtful touches that often go overlooked. Of course, you’ll find cozy, comfortable furniture, welcoming colors, and the amenities you'd expect. But we went further. Forgot your toothbrush? We’ve got you covered. Need a cup of coffee to start your day? It’s already waiting. Traveling with your furry friend? We’ve thought of them, too, with pet bowls and beds to make them feel at home.
Every item we include has been chosen with care to make your stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Still, we know there’s always room to improve. If there’s something you needed and didn’t find, we want to hear from you! Your feedback helps us grow and ensures we’re even better prepared to welcome you next time.
At Rising Aub, we don’t just host — we care. And we’re so glad you’re here.
