About this property

4 beach Villas|white sand | beach front | Family|south andros| Bone fishing| sea

There is a version of the Bahamas that most people never find. It does not have a cruise ship pier or a duty-free mall. The beaches are not crowded because almost nobody knows they are there. The water is the kind of blue that photographs always fail to capture. That is South Andros, and Paradise Beach is sitting right in the middle of it.

The full Paradise Beach complex is four self-contained villas on a private three-mile stretch of white sand beach. Together they sleep sixteen guests across eight bedrooms. You can book one villa for a smaller group or take the whole property for a family reunion, a group of friends, a destination wedding, or a fishing trip that people will still be talking about five years from now. However you use it, this place was built for exactly this kind of trip.

The Four Villas

The Main House sleeps six adults in three double bedrooms, with two bathrooms including one en suite, a large fully equipped kitchen, a generous living room, and a porch that looks out toward the water.

The Guest House has two bedrooms and sleeps up to six when the pull-out beds are in use. There are two bathrooms, a full kitchen, a comfortable living area, and a large front porch with a washing machine and dryer.

The North House sleeps four across two double bedrooms, both with their own en suite bathrooms. The kitchen and living area are open plan and the front porch is a great spot to start and end the day.

The Lovers Hideaway is the newest addition. It has one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchenette, and a cosy sitting area. It is ideal for couples who want their own space within the complex.

Every villa has fast WiFi, air conditioning throughout, flat screen televisions, and everything you need to feel at home. If you would rather not cook, a traditional South Andros chef can come to the property at an additional cost per meal. Fresh seafood, local Bahamian dishes, and home cooked food made from what the island produces.

The Beach and the Grounds

Walk out of any of the four villas and you are on the beach. Three miles of private white sand with tiki umbrellas and sun loungers set up along the front. A few minutes along the shoreline brings you to the beachside cabana, which sits right at the water's edge somewhere comfortable to sit while you watch the Atlantic do its thing.

There is an outdoor pool for when you want to swim without the current. When the sun goes down, the indoor games room has table tennis, a bar, music, and enough going on to keep a large group entertained well into the night.

Included in the stay for every guest: five bicycles, two kayaks, two paddleboards, and full snorkelling gear. No extra charge, no forms to sign, just take what you need.

Getting Out and Exploring

We know the island well and are happy to arrange things for you. Bonefishing with expert local guides on the famous South Andros flats. Scuba diving on the world's third largest barrier reef, which is just offshore. Swimming in or diving the blue holes, including Stargate and El Dorado, which Jacques Cousteau explored back in the 1970s. Conch diving, bush treks through the interior, jet skiing, water skiing, and jet packing are all available. Just let us know what you want to do and we will sort it out.

Getting There

South Andros is not the kind of place you stumble across. You choose it deliberately, and that's part of what makes it special. From the United States, the most direct route is a flight from Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) straight to Congo Town Airport (TZN) on South Andros. Southern Air Charter and Flamingo Air both operate this route and the flight takes around 50 minutes. Schedules vary by season so it's worth checking both carriers when you plan.

If you're travelling via Nassau, Bahamasair and other regional carriers run multiple daily connections between Nassau (NAS) and Congo Town. This works well if you want to spend a night in Nassau first or you're island-hopping from somewhere else in the Bahamas.

Groups and travellers who want total flexibility often come in by private charter. You can fly from Fort Lauderdale, Miami, or Nassau and land almost whenever suits you. Your host can point you toward reputable charter operators. Arriving by private boat is also an option if you're already in the area.

Once you touch down at Congo Town Airport you are a short drive from the property, usually between ten and twenty minutes depending on exactly where in Kemps Bay you are staying. Car rental is available on the island and your host can sort out a taxi or transfer if you need one. Having your own wheels is genuinely useful if you want to explore beyond the beach, but plenty of guests are happy just staying put.

What to Expect When You Arrive

South Andros is not a resort island and it does not pretend to be. There are no swim-up bars, no souvenir shops, no organised pool entertainment. What there is, is real. Miles of empty white sand beach where you will likely be the only people for as far as you can see. Water so clear you can watch fish moving in it from the shore. A pace of life that takes about half a day to fully sink into and the rest of your trip to not want to leave.

The reef here is one of the most spectacular in the world. The Andros Barrier Reef is the third largest on the planet and it runs for a hundred miles along the eastern shore of the island. Whether you snorkel or dive, what you find out there is pristine. Coral walls, swim-throughs, sea turtles, rays, and reef sharks. The Tongue of the Ocean sits just offshore too, a six thousand foot underwater canyon that draws in larger pelagic species and is one of the most exciting dive sites in the Caribbean.

The island is also home to more than two hundred blue holes, which is the highest concentration anywhere on earth. These are natural sinkholes, some inland and some offshore, formed when sea levels were much lower during the last ice age. Jacques Cousteau led an expedition here in the early 1970s. Some of them are perfect for snorkelling, others go deep enough that cave divers have never reached the bottom. Guided tours are available and very much worth doing.

Anglers come here from all over the world and have for decades. South Andros is considered the bonefishing capital of the world, and that reputation is completely deserved. The flats here are vast, lightly fished, and full of trophy-sized bonefish in the eight to ten pound range. Tarpon and permit are around too. Your host can connect you with the best local guides on the island.

Day to day life on South Andros is unhurried. There is a local grocery store, a restaurant or two, and a gas station within easy reach of most properties. It is worth bringing a few things with you from the mainland, especially if you have specific preferences, but you will not go without. The people here are warm and genuinely welcoming. You are far more likely to get a wave from a passing car than to encounter anything even resembling a tourist trap.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

The property is a ten to twenty minute drive from Congo Town Airport. There is a local grocery store and restaurant nearby and taxis and car rental are easy to arrange. A vehicle is handy if you want to explore the island but plenty of guests are perfectly content staying on the property for the whole trip. Children are very welcome. Events are allowed and we have hosted destination weddings here. A minimum of seven nights applies in December.

Can’t wait to go back

Paradise Beach on South Andros is just that. Paradise. It's rare to find a place that offers such privacy and access to an ideal beach/oceanfront. We had a large family group and the accommodations worked perfectly for us. Mrs. Una and the rest of the staff on site were wonderful and a favorite part of our trip was getting to know them. The people of South Andros who we met were welcoming and friendly. There are not a lot of places to go out to eat, but you can cook or take advantage of Mrs. Una's wonderful cooking and maximize your beach time.

The place itself was amazing. It was pretty much your own private beach. Since it was a secluded island away from the Nassau, getting food and other simple items was not as availbale. THankfully, we booked all the spaces for our group. So if the blender wasn't working in one house, we were able to use it from the other house. This would've been harder to do if there were other people in the other areas. THis was something we did not think about. Also tips, payment for most things all preferred cash, somehting we were not prepared for. In the end, it all worked out, but it was something we didn't intend to travel with.

Serenity in the Bahamas!

This property was perfect for our group of 11. Everyone fit comfortably. The property is beautiful sitting right on a nice beach. The staff kept things tidy, the chef is awesome, and they were always willing to help us with directions to stores/restaurants and advice on things to see. The sunrises and sunsets were amazing!

Peace, tranquility & nature

This property gave us a once in a lifetime vacation. Located right on a huge private beach with nobody around, the water is crystal clear and a perfect. The water toys are fantastic and since there is nobody else around we used them from early morning thru the day. There are islands a short distance away. Lots of starfish, conch and even crabs for the kids to catch. The staff are there when you want and not there when you don't want them. We will return.

Absolutely a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Let me begin by saying this was hands down the most amazing vacation we've ever taken! I'm hesitant to go into too much detail because this is certainly one of those places you wish would never be discovered and you could have all to yourself. But in reality everyone deserves a chance to experience what paradise truly is. I will say that this isn't necessarily the vacation for everyone. As a whole, Andros is very secluded with limited dining and grocery options. It isn't easily accessible from the U.S. so there's definitely some flexibility and creativity involved. But we've never seen anything as beautiful and unique as this property. First of all, the property is superbly staffed. Liz, Timmy and Chip will take care of every detail...from meeting you at the airport, to planning excursions, to keeping the property absolutely pristine. Liz is the main liaison and she just couldn't have been better. She is so knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. We arranged to have a jet ski everyday and spent hours exploring the area. Chip took us lobster diving, helped prepare them, and took us out in the boats. Timmy keeps the grounds manicured and is always available for any random or mundane needs you may have. We stayed in the main house, which was very nice. The kitchen is generously stocked and has nice appliances for your cooking needs. We only ventured out one night for dinner and cooked our meals the other 6 nights. There are 2 very nice grills and we used them almost every night. And while we rarely were in the house, we did have a good wifi signal and satellite TV. Our mornings were spent on the expansive porch overlooking the North Atlantic while we had coffee. Then, it was on to a short exercise routine on the beachfront bar area before making a cocktail and lounging under the tiki huts and in the water. There were 3 jet skis, 2 boats, and 2 sea bobs available for a reasonable fee. We used one of the jet skis every single day and explored, wakeboarded, and skimboarded behind it. In hindsight, I can't imagine not having a boat or jet ski because they both yielded such amazing experiences. We took drone footage of many of our excursions and it's mindboggling how clear the water is! I just can't say enough about this vacation. The owners were so easy to work with and we literally never had any kinks before, during, or after our stay. If you want to experience the most amazing week of your life, this is the place to go!!!

Heaven on Earth The Honeymooners

It was a magical honeymoon in every imaginable way and exactly what we needed: quality time, gorgeous scenery, aquamarine waters and many refreshing cocktails. We first landed in Nassau and caught a small plane to South Andros. As soon as we landed at the airport we were greeted by the Concierge of the Paradise Resort, Liz, who is absolutely fantastic. When we arrived at the resort we were gob smacked as it exceeded all our expectations. The place is very well taken care of, the beach is raked daily so that you can enjoy your daily swim in a picture perfect white sandy beach. Our two-bedroom villa was very spacious and it included two shower rooms, one of which was ensuite. The fully equipped kitchen is the perfect size for those who like to cook. There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer which were great for us since we had already been travelling for 10 days after getting married in Europe. There is a safe in the house if you wish to put your personal belongings away although the island is very tranquil. There is a games room on the resort in case the weather plays up, but luckily for us we had sunshine everyday so we spent our time outdoors. On the resort they have a 4x4 gator, wakeboard boats and water sports toys including jetskis and Seabobs. At the resort we were greeted by the great team: Timmy (manager), Bruno and Ben (maintenance and cleaning) and Chip (skipper and watersports). These are the guys who keep the place ship shape. They're a lovely bunch. Oh and we must not forget Luke, the cutest Belgian Malinois (Liz's dog). All the crew were there to help and make our stay one to remember. Our days on the resort were spent going out on the boat and jet skis, visiting stunning private islands and beaches including the shark's hole (one of the many world-famous Bahamian Blue Holes), caught dozens of lobster and snapper that we would barbecue in the evenings. We also enjoyed a day at sea catching conch followed by lunch Bahamian style - the conch salad. A must try! On other days we would just chill on the beautiful beach at the resort, listening to some tunes while enjoying the sun and sea, sipping cocktails at the bar in the beach cabana. Literally heaven on earth. On other days we explored the island by Gator, or enjoyed a picnic on a private uninhabited island, for which Liz treated us to a lovely packed lunch. Staying at Paradise Beach is a must when visiting the Bahamas, you definitely won’t be disappointed. We can’t wait to go back!!!

Simply spectacular

A year ago today I disembarked the Cessna Caravan onto the asphalt at Congo Town airport South Andros. Immediately we were met by the team from Paradise Beach with a beer waiting in there hands and a smile on their face we started our journey. On arriving to Paradise Beach I couldn't help but be impressed by the size and cleanliness of the landscaped getaway, un obstructed views lead onto the beautiful pristine beach from the guest houses. The beach its self was simply perfect, not a single piece of debris in sight, raked, maintained and fortunately overlooked at the one end by a huge Beach Cabaña...and Bar! The guest house my fiancé and I stayed in was situated to the north of the property and away form the main area which gave us even more opportunity to enjoy the idillic surroundings in absolute solitude, the house had two double bedrooms and two ensuite bathrooms but fortunately we had the entire place to ourselves. Clean, tidy with all your needs catered for, we even found a fully stocked fridge with all the basics, (even though we had gone self catering) outstanding service. The facilities are quite frankly (and literally) second to none on the island. Soon after getting there and waisting no time we got the kayaks into the Bohemian waters and started our adventure, before the day was out we were viewing Stingrays, Turtles and Sharks on massive 750bhp jet ski's. Throughout out stay all of the water sports activities were made available to us, staff were always on hand to help, teach and support us in any of the numerous activities available. We also enjoyed all of the local life and culture; bars, restaurants and nature walks. There are many off site activities and excursions that can be arranged, we went Conch and Lobster snorkelling (which were subsequently cooked for us), bone fishing, diving off shark hole, leisure cruse around the island, my personal favourite was our Jet ski safari which allowed us to go to our own private island and beach where we picnicked the afternoon away!:) During our stay the staff at my request secretly organised a very special meal on the beach with champagne and lobster, candles and music; where I proposed to me now wife! they really went the extra mile... Since our 10 day trip we have been back twice over the last year, recommended to anyone, truly amazing place. Thank you Paradise Beach.

Paradise awaits!!!

This is where you go to get away from it all. This is where you go when you want the untouched white sand, the sapphire and emerald waters, and the breeze that keeps you nice and cool. The best thing about here is it is miles and miles away from any kind of tourist site. Please book during lobster season and make it a day, you'll be glad you did. The guides are all fair priced and eager to please. The place is clean and very well maintained. Even in the winter time there are things to do and it does not even get that cold. I will be back here for sure and find myself lucky to have been able to see this side of the Bahamas.

An unforgettable experience

We have had three amazing stays at Paradise Beach and have come away with some wonderful memories. The facilities were great - the properties on the estate are authentic island style and they were clean, spacious and tastefully decorated. Starting the day with a lazy stroll along the glorious white sands, to swimming in the crystal clear seas, its always a perfect stay. For those who seek out adventure, you are right on the beach and there are plenty of water sports activities together with a games room on site. For anyone who just wants to relax and unwind with a book and a cold drink under the cabana, its all here. We loved our evening BBQs with friends in this truly amazing setting and I have to say it literally did feel like a beach in Paradise…

Quiet retreat away from it all

I really wish we could have stayed longer than the 10 days we spent here. Truly paradise in every sense of the word. Whether taking the jet skis out for a spin, taking a relaxing scuba dive, or just kicking back on the white sandy beach in front of the crystal blue water, everything about this place screams serenity. A great location for an extended family getaway. I've been told the owners have added new features such as a games room and beachside bar, and we cannot wait to go back!

A must stay on your Bucket List!

Wow! What a spectacular place. Where to begin? The beach...miles of white sand and crystal green water. So nice for swimming, kayaking, paddle boards and jet skis. The houses...all clean, spacious and comfortable, with beautiful decks for enjoying the breezes. We enjoyed all the water toys on property (especially love the Sea Bobs) and hanging out at the beach Cabana/bar but also loved our boat trips. Highly recommend 'Sharks' Hole' (a blue hole w sharks, turtles and lots of fish) and the 'conch float'. Andros is listed in the 1,000 places to See Before You Die - Paradise Beach is THE place stay!

Paradise

I can genuinely say I was never as happy as when I was staying here. It is a beautiful property, the neighbours are friendly and the neighbourhood is safe. The locals are so welcoming and charming. It is a tight-knit community where everyone knows each other but they are more than willing to help out a non-local. If it's water sports you're into, or hiking in the forest, or just chilling out on the beach...this place has it all and then some. A definite must visit...your cares will melt away. I cannot wait to go back.

absolute Paradise on earth, Amazing place

we stayed there for 5 days and it was absolutely amazing. i can't even find the right words to describe our experience. The family welcomed us upon arrival and showed us around the property. Our guest house was very nice and modern furnished with air-conditioning in each room, equipped with all thinks you need ranging from all kitchen utilities to even a printer. WIFI was available in the house also. Everything is in perfect condition and super clean. we had everyday breakfast at the terrace and did a BBQ in the evening. there some small shops around where you can get all you need for a perfect stay in the bahamas. The beach is like you see on in a luxury travel brochure, withe sand and crystal clear water. Jetski, Motorboat and all kind of waterspouts toys where available for us. one of my highlight was a day out on the boat for snorkelling and lobster fishing. Chip, our skipper took really good care of us and showed me how to catch lobsters. Also Timmy, who works for the owner was always helpful and assisted us whenever we needed help. There are some restaurants and Bar&Grill close by house which are nice to hang out in the evening. I can recommend everyone to stay there for an ultimate relaxing break. if i could i would even rate it with 10 stars. Special thanks to the owner and his Wife for making it to an remarkable experience. Hopefully i will come back soon.

We bought the property in 2016, and have added an extensive beach bar and dining area. To add to this we have built a Massive indoor bar and games rooms for when you want to get away from the sun.

We hosted our Daughter's Wedding with 50 guests coming in from all over the world and being entertained on the property for a week.

Why they chose this property

Perfect Paradise: it is simply Bliss

What makes this property unique

It has pretty much everything you will need, with enough rooms spread over 4 different buildings to house 16 people without anyone feeling cramped. By the same virtue if there are only 2 of you, it will feel like home away from home.
