About this property

Boat access only rental on private island

Welcome to “Happily ever after” the last place you will need to go on vacation. Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable time in our 2 bedroom/1 bath cottage. The living room is furnished with handmade wood accent pieces. The kitchen is perfect for the chef equipped with stove, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, coffee percolator, Keurig, pots and pans, plenty of Corning and bakeware. There is a community dock steps away. when you depart the water taxi (pirates water taxi call for reservations in advance 941-697-5777, dock 75 and a concierge to take you and your groceries to our home. (Bret 941-223-4548 $25 plus tip!) Once inside you will find the items you need to enjoy yourself. We include toiletries in our elaborate outside maze shower, paper products, kitchen staples, condiments and a complimentary bottle of wine or two, noodles, beach chairs, and beach towels. We are walking distance to the beach so a cart isn’t required but far enough away to enjoy our private treehouse. Cart rental available. We are not on a main cart path and privacy and solitude are always available. Our screen porch is always comfortable with chairs, futon, bistro table and trees everywhere! You can fish from dock or beach, Just don’t forget your bait. Games, books, craft items are there for your use and gives everyone something to do when you need to avoid the sun for a couple hours! We have a dedicated beach boardwalk that takes you over the sand and deposits you on the beach. If we forgot anything we are only a phone call or text away.

A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Bring your boat or take the water taxi and leave everything behind. We had an amazing time on our week long trip. Combing the beaches on secluded islands to just relaxing on the screened in porch in total silence. The beach house had everything we needed and was very hidden away from our neighbors. Adding the golf cart was awesome too as we discovered other parts of the island to see the beach and sunsets nightly. We would definitely recommend this property!

Wow do i wish i lived on this island! This house is like EDEN! I am so enchanted by this island and this house is 1 block from the bay with a perfect boat dock! The home has been renovated and the multiple porches overlooking the beautiful wooded grounds. This tree house is in my heart forever! We hope to come back many times! We are locals from Osprey and we appreciate beauty when we see it! This is a BEAUTIFUL HOUSE! Thank you for having us! 5 STARS ON EVERY CATEGORY! Mary & Neville

SIMPLY PERFECT!

This was my family's first visit to LGI. We could not have asked for a more perfect rental home for our stay. Here is a summary of what we enjoyed the most: 1) Short 5 minute water-taxi from the mainland...Eldred's Marina (Plan on ~$10/person) 2) A concierge ($20...well worth it for us) is available if needed with multiple golf carts to assist you to the house with all of you luggage, groceries, etc. 3) If you pack light, the house is only a 3-4 minute walk from the dock. 4) Once at the house, you will discover it is stocked with all the essentials you would ever hope for in a rental from VRBO, AirBNB, etc at the beach! (Condiments, ice, cooking oils, spices, paper products, washer/dryer, soap, detergent, etc, etc...even some adult beverages if you underestimated before leaving the mainland :-) ) 5) The screened in porch is amazing! There's plenty of comfortable seating and the unlimited craft supplies for the kids (and wife) was a wonderful surprise. If searching for amazing shells (6 minute walk or 2 minute golf-cart ride from the house) followed by making ocean-themed crafts is your thing, then this house is endless fun! 6) OUTDOOR SHOWER...spacious, private, fully stocked with shampoo and soap...simply amazing. 7) Beach stuff: boogie boards, skim board, noodles, chairs, umbrella, frisbees, toys, towels are all available at the house...no need to pack these items. Bay stuff: kayaks available for rent, concierge will deliver them to the dock. Perfect way to spend a half to full day in the bay. 8) Fishing: three poles and a tackle box with the main essentials are available at the house. Grab some bait on the mainland prior to arriving. My family used frozen shrimp/squid on the bay side during our stay and had success catching fish both day and night. (We did not try the oceanside, although we saw many along the beach that had success.) 9) The house and property are beautifully decorated. 10) The house is secluded...surrounded by trees, vegetation, and the most amazing wildlife. (My 12 y.o. daughter individually named over 40 lizards...don't worry, very small and harmless.) We could not have enjoyed our stay any more...we WILL be back.

Great getaway

Property was as advertised and Michele made the process very easy. Great communication so there were no surprises. We loved it so much, we ran off with the key. Again, Michele made it easy for us to return the accidentally stolen property. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy LGI.

Ultimate Relaxation

This was our third visit to Little Gasparilla Island, and this location was the best for privacy and peace. We usually rent places with a view, but having two dogs, one with high anxiety, we needed something off the beaten path. This cute home provided a private oasis. Decorated with a whimsical style and beautiful woodwork, right down to their wonderful outdoor shower with awesome water pressure, it called to the creative soul. Michele was extremely responsive, even responding to a text and phone call when needed. The stocked cabinets provided more spices and options than I usually have at home, and the extra ice was welcome, so this was a pleasant surprise given it was Thanksgiving weekend with all the fixings! The location was a quick walk from the taxi area and having brought our boat, easy to come back and forth to check on the tides. The beautiful beach was also a quick walk down the palm tree-lined dirt golf cart paths in the opposite direction. Several items of note: there are minimal cell service and no internet or wifi. The listing is accurate and does not state these amenities, but having been to LGI before, this had not been an issue so we incorrectly assumed we could utilize our hotspot. Michele was very responsive and helped as best possible with this concern. Also, the listing states two bedrooms with two beds sleeping four. We were advised upon booking that this had been changed to one bed. Given that we are a couple, it worked out fine, but sometimes we do utilize a second bedroom if one of us is reading late. Finally, the owner's belongings filled closet, drawer and bathroom space, so it was a bit difficult to unpack fully. A shelf for toothbrushes, contacts, medicine, and other personal items along with closet/drawer space would be helpful. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised with the artistic space, solitude and family welcome (Michele continually stated their place was our place and to use anything we saw and needed -so much like family!) We hope to return in the not too far future :)

Instead of beach view our home is a treehouse! Built with love and lots of natural elements. Mostly of our own creation. We love to make and decorate to suit us which makes our cottage a homey vacation.
