About this property

Lords Cove Cottage in Brooksville Maine

Lords Cove Cottage is located on a quiet gravel road. This Shabby Chic style Cottage is about 800 sq ft, We have a town landing less than a half mile from the cottage which allows for endless exploring at low tide and there is a second town landing which has a wonderful dock for swimming and small boats can be put in at both spots. There is a walking path to the shore, right behind the cottage, that takes just a couple minutes to walk to the shore with a sign that says Shore Path , it is not my property but the owners have given their permission for us to walk the path so please be very respectfull of the path and leave it as clean and well cared for as you found it. There is a small fire pit to sit by and roast marshmallows and look at the stars. There is an eat in well equipped kitchen, propane stove to take off the morning chill, and a nice old tub that allows for an evening soak. Sleeping accommodations are as follows : pullout couch on Main floor and 2 double beds + 1 twin bed on second floor. Second floor is only accessible by shipbuilder stairway. This is a dog friendly Cottage (Limit 2) at an extra fee ($50.00 per dog), dog must stay on leash. We are close to Bangor International Airport (60min) and to Acacia National Park (45min). Our accommodations are good for couples, solo adventures, & families with children.

Your hosts, Carol who live right through the trees is there so if you need anything she is there to help.

RELAXING!
This is a charming, rustic property in a lovely setting and extremely quiet and peaceful! Our host Carol is wonderful, very thoughtful and helpful a truly lovely person! She shares great recommendations for hiking, fun places to get almost any kind of food you may be craving. This is not a fancy cottage, it's absolutely perfect for relaxing and is a perfect location for hiking and exploring. The stairs are very steep and the old fashioned claw foot tub with shower needs to be navigated carefully so do plan accordingly. It's all fine just be careful if you're challenged with back or other issues. Personally I have serious back issues and I was just careful, it all worked out with out any issues at all! Fall is of course chilly downeast so you'll enjoy the propane stove for ambiance and warmth! The kitchen is very basic but has just about anything you'd want for simple meal prep and there is a webber grill. We made some pretty creative dinners. The Blue Hill Farmers market provided fabulous farm to table goodies for our meals. You are an easy drive to small villages for supplies and there are some lovely places to enjoy a dinner with in striking distance. The hiking is outstanding! This cottage is very rustic, casual and laid back, any stress will melt away immediately and you will enjoy Carol's friendship and conversations! Enjoy!

Wonderful time
We loved our stay and and used the lovely cottage as a base to explore the area. The path to the ocean made a nice setting for a special moment where We became engaged. Carol was the perfect hostess and helpful with all our needs.

Peaceful get away
We had a fantastic time exploring the area around Lord's Cove Cottage. It is close enough to all the areas attractions, but far enough away from the crowds. A beautiful area. We really liked being able to walk down to the shore when the tide was low. The sunsets were beautiful.

Tranquil country setting
This rustic cottage was exactly what we were hoping for! Beautiful country setting, perfect lawn for our two dogs to relax on. Close to many hiking trails and dog friendly beaches. Although there is a walking path from cottage down to the shore, it required a bit of clamoring. Mud boots were handy to have as ME has had a lot of rain this summer. I was concerned the steep stairs to the beds upstairs might be too challenging, but there was ample lighting and railing. Overall, a perfect vacation cottage. In fact, we have already booked for next summer!

I moved to this area in 2016 from Montana to be closer to my daughter and her family.
I love renting out the cottage and having the chance to meet people from all over the world. This is a beautiful quiet space with many things in easy distance to visit. I love to take long walks or care for my chickens and garden. During the winter I do a lot of quilting and knitting. I was widowed in 2018 and it has been a challenge to learn to live by myself but I'm doing fine. I think you would love this little slice of heaven
