Carol is a perfect host, has thought of everything-and the location is very quiet with many short walks nearby. Interesting destinations such as Castine and Stonington are not far. The Lords Cove cottage is a bit of the real Maine! Enjoyed every minute of our stay!

The cottage at Laurens Cove is my kind of place small, quaint, quintessential maine like feel. Lots of privacy. You can walk to the ocean in two minutes out the back door across the field. Hope to stay again!

Peaceful get away

We had a fantastic time exploring the area around Lord's Cove Cottage. It is close enough to all the areas attractions, but far enough away from the crowds. A beautiful area. We really liked being able to walk down to the shore when the tide was low. The sunsets were beautiful.

Great Quiet Cottage Not far from things to do

We enjoyed staying at the cottage. This was great place for our family. 2 kids and 2 dogs. Nice yard to play around with the kids and dogs. We made some smores using the fire pit in the yard. Easy walk down to the ocean from the cottage. This location worked great for us. Not far from things to do, and but far enough away from all the populated tourist stuff.

Perfect Spot!

My husband and I and our two labs had a wonderful time at Lord's Cove. We have stayed in many of the surrounding areas, but never Brooksville and we loved it! It is perfectly situated between all sorts of wonderful day trips; Castine, MDI, Stonington/Deer Isle, and of course, Blue Hill. In addition to the sweet cottage, Carol, the owner added another layer of comfort and kindness with her hospitality. I would definitely recommend this cottage for a small family with dogs as the yard and proximity to the cove was a special treat for them as well. If you like access to beautiful nature, art and great food, visit Brooksville (and stay at Lords Cove Cottage when you do :)

Tranquil country setting

This rustic cottage was exactly what we were hoping for! Beautiful country setting, perfect lawn for our two dogs to relax on. Close to many hiking trails and dog friendly beaches. Although there is a walking path from cottage down to the shore, it required a bit of clamoring. Mud boots were handy to have as ME has had a lot of rain this summer. I was concerned the steep stairs to the beds upstairs might be too challenging, but there was ample lighting and railing. Overall, a perfect vacation cottage. In fact, we have already booked for next summer!

Peaceful and wonderful

We had a wonderful week at the cottage. My sister and I rented the cottage and had various family come and go over the process of the week. It was a week a bit of a damp week but we had a canopy and enjoyed the outside despite the weather. The fires at night were a perfect way to end the day. The beach was a wonderful spot. It was easy for us to walk around. My grandchildren enjoyed splashing in the bay and exploring the shore. Carol was very sweet and accommodating. I have been to several places on the coast and I would highly recommend this place for family. So far this is my daughter's favorite. We will be sure to visit again.

RELAXING!

This is a charming, rustic property in a lovely setting and extremely quiet and peaceful! Our host Carol is wonderful, very thoughtful and helpful a truly lovely person! She shares great recommendations for hiking, fun places to get almost any kind of food you may be craving. This is not a fancy cottage, it's absolutely perfect for relaxing and is a perfect location for hiking and exploring. The stairs are very steep and the old fashioned claw foot tub with shower needs to be navigated carefully so do plan accordingly. It's all fine just be careful if you're challenged with back or other issues. Personally I have serious back issues and I was just careful, it all worked out with out any issues at all! Fall is of course chilly downeast so you'll enjoy the propane stove for ambiance and warmth! The kitchen is very basic but has just about anything you'd want for simple meal prep and there is a webber grill. We made some pretty creative dinners. The Blue Hill Farmers market provided fabulous farm to table goodies for our meals. You are an easy drive to small villages for supplies and there are some lovely places to enjoy a dinner with in striking distance. The hiking is outstanding! This cottage is very rustic, casual and laid back, any stress will melt away immediately and you will enjoy Carol's friendship and conversations! Enjoy!

Maine cabin

Staying in the cabin was a very Maine experience! Country setting, very off the beaten path. Short walk to the Lord's Cove, which was very pretty. The property owner was very nice. She was quick to respond to any questions we had about the cabin.

Quiet Peaceful Country Cottage

My mom and I enjoyed our stay in Brooksville. It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. We had some colder evenings and nights and the gas fireplace was perfect and the extra heaters upstairs made for a cozy sleep. We enjoyed the country feel and the pretty drive throughout the area. Carol is the sweetest lady and even turned on our porch light on the nights we got in late.

I moved to this area in 2016 from Montana to be closer to my daughter and her family.
I love renting out the cottage and having the chance to meet people from all over the world. This is a beautiful quiet space with many things in easy distance to visit. I love to take long walks or care for my chickens and garden. During the winter I do a lot of quilting and knitting. I was widowed in 2018 and it has been a challenge to learn to live by myself but I'm doing fine. I think you would love this little slice of heaven
