We loved the location! The hosts had a welcome basket when we arrived. We could walk to the strand, local restaurants and enjoy the porch. Will definitely stay again!

Broadway 4-plex in Galveston
Our stay at this location was very pleasant, particularly as the master bedroom was quiet and the bed comfortable. We enjoyed its charm and lovely view of Sacred Heart Church.
I have lived on the island twice in my lifetime. I come back often. My daughter and her family currently live in Galveston. And I cruise a lot. This bungalow was perfect for my needs. I have already told friends and family about this historical home! Loved the location as well. Did not feel touristy at all. Had the feel of home!
Only issues were there were some roaches in the kitchen cabinets which is not unusual in a tropical environment and the washing machine leaked onto the carpet as it filled. Owner was very responsive to issues! Will definitely book this bungalow again!
We find out the that the bed had bedbugs we don't sleep at all the second and 3rd night we can't find out what a was till we removed the bed sheets to find out the little bedbugs I got pictures and a video.
This was my first ever trip to Galveston texas and my first time using Vrbo. Everything was amazing the bungalow was the cutest place I’ve ever stayed at! It reminds me of summers when I would stay with my great oma. Very clean, just the right size! Great and safe neighborhood! I def will be recommending this to family and friends! I also will def be returning! Thank you! For opening it up to me!
This was a really cute place and served our needs for the holiday weekend! Close to the beaches

Not pleasant stay :-(
We park our car outside in a very busy street, it was kind of dangerous trying to get in or out of the car because of the traffic, but the disappointing issue was when we open the door of the bungalow and this humid musty odor get into out noses, the place sould be cute, but definitely needs new carpet, furniture and renovation, the fridge was moldy! As well as the AC grills (thats unhealthy) And there were no pressure of water at all! It was impossible to shower Since just a little bit of water came of the shower!, so we borrowed a plastic jar and a plastic cupfrom the kitchen to catch water in it and that was the only way to shower!! It was very very disappointing,

Hi Corina, thanks for taking the time to leave your review. We passed your feedback along to the homeowner who wanted to share the following:
-We are sorry that you felt the street was dangerous. To our knowledge, the street was relatively quiet during your stay.
-We clean thoroughly between guests and have especially taken extra precautions since Covid-19 began early last year. We clean and sanitize the kitchen and bathrooms, countertops, floors, doors, etc. Anything left in the refrigerator is tossed, and it is cleaned and wiped down thoroughly. There is no mold in the refrigerator, and we have made sure our cleaning crew will dust all AC vents thoroughly in the future.
-We did have a water pressure issue that has since been resolved. A water pipe under the house had to be completely replaced due to the severe freeze this past winter, after which our entire city has had an extremely difficult time with obtaining materials and contractors to make necessary repairs.
-We so wish you would have contacted us during your stay. We leave contact information in our rentals in case a guest has an emergency or needs us for any reason, as we are right next door. We try to meet our guests each time, and we want their stay to be as comfortable as possible. We would have gladly moved you to a new unit for your greater comfort but were disappointed not to hear of your concerns until after your departure.
Thanks again for your review, and we hope to get the chance to host you again soon!
We went to Galveston to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. The house is perfect for a small group, very cozy. It has two room with 3 beds. It is located in a great spot right down from the beach.
The Bishop Bungalow is a beautiful home built in pre-1900. The managers Randy and Claire are amazing! The only issue had nothing to do with the stay but Evolve Rental agency that changed the VERBO fees agreed on originally!
All in all I will happily return and book through Claire and Randy!
Very nice apartment! Several breakfasts on sunny front porch, nicely stocked kitchen, comfy beds, plenty of extra linens, towels, etc. In the heart of Galveston's historic district, so many pleasant walks in the area.... great restaurants nearby. Thanks Randy and Claire!
Excellent!! Close to beach. Will stay here again when we return next year! Very clean!

Not happy with this place
Poor lighting system, super dark place, the kitchen light takes a lot of time to turn on. No water to drink, no shampoo and conditioning. It was some coffee, but 1 cream and 1 sugar I was staying for 3 days... I have been at cheapest places and they provided better service, I guess I have to chose better next time I go to Galveston :(

Yolimar, we're sorry to hear that your stay fell flat of your expectations. The homeowners would like to pass along the following message:
"We're sorry to learn of your disappointment with the Bishop’s Bungalow. It is an old historic home, and it does have its quirks. As for the kitchen light, we appreciate when our guests let us know something is not working or in need of repair, which is the case with the kitchen light ballast. In the future, we hope you let us know while you are in residence so we can quickly address it for your immediate comfort.
We provide essential items such as coffee, shampoo, and soap, etc., for the first night of our guests stay. However, we've found that most guests tend to bring their own specialty items as they're aware Bishop’s Bungalow is more laid back rather than resort-style. Again, if there was something you needed, we wish you would have contacted us so that we could have assisted you. We live next door, and our telephone numbers are on the information sheet in the units.
We believe that we provide accommodations in Galveston at a very reasonable and economical price. Again, we are sorry you were unhappy but do hope you will give us another chance!"
Best, the Evolve Team

Charming, comfortable in a good location.
We enjoyed the property. It is roomy and well appointed. I would suggest addition of a colander for preparation of pasta and a couple of more washcloths (there was only one). I will be deterred by the high (non-refundable) damage protection charge. I think it is unfair to retain those funds if the property is left undamaged.

We loved our stay at the Bishops Bungalow, thanks
Our stay was the hilight of our summer, Randy and Claire are wonderful host. The location on Broadway alows good access to the beach and the strand. Stay in a triplex gives you all the benefits of a larger space for our stay. We look forward to staying with y'all again. Many thanks for having us, James and Lydia Everitt.

The apartment is clean, reasonably priced, and extremely easy to locate. You have what you need to cook minimal meals, can do your laundry and take a shower. If you are looking to walk to the beach, walk to restaurants this isn't the place to stay. It is an older property that could use some updating. In this day and time... there should be a larger TV in the living room and TVs in the bedrooms. The TV in the living room is very small and very outdated. The back door pops open on its own b/c the latch does not work...the only thing keeping it from totally opening is the chain latch. It opened a minimum of four times while we were there. Could use some updated furniture and places to sit. Located on a very busy street so you will hear the outside traffic, which for many is no big deal. If you are looking for a place to just sleep, shower and heat up a pizza... it's perfect. They did allow us to check in early and left a welcoming bottle of wine. Bottom line is - it just depends on your demands. We had no issues with critters or noisy neighbors. Easy to park in front of location. The sitting porch has nice view of Bishop's Palace. Was nice to be able to do laundry and not have to deal with loud people on a holiday week. It is a "old bungalow" that has charm on the outside. We stayed in Suite A and it would be interesting to see what the other bungalows are like.
