About this property
Modern, Industrial-Style Studio Apartment in Cultural Neighbourhood
Located in Johannesburg's trendy Maboneng Precinct, this Main Street Life studio apartment comes fully equipped. Join a thriving urban community that is home to several restaurants, galleries, boutiques, galleries, bars, an independent cinema, spa and yoga centre and more. This studio also has cable TV and fast, reliable and unlimited FREE wireless Internet. This space is perfect for solo adventurers, couples, small groups (3 max), young professionals and students.
Double-volume urban home with cement flooring and huge windows that create a chic industrial feel. The space is open plan with a bedroom, living room and kitchen in a shared area. The bedroom and living room are divided by a white cupboard, which does create separate spaces and adds more privacy.
The bedroom has a queen bed, two side tables, a bed-side lamp, a desk, flatscreen TV, satellite TV, a sound system with DVD player and audio cable (perfect for phones, iPods and iPads), full-length mirror and a cupboard. Bed linen is also supplied.
The living room has a sleeper couch, coffee table, a beanbag chair and a bookshelf.
The kitchen is fully equipped, including a bar fridge, cutlery, crockery, glasses, microwave, stove, oven, cooking utensils, pots, baking pan, casserole dish, rubbish bin, etc.
The bathroom is double volume with a spacious walk-in shower only. There are two shelves, one below the mirror and a floating shelf above the loo. And there is cupboard space below the sink. Towels are also supplied.
The apartment is courtyard facing, so it's pretty quiet. There is the occasional event at the theatre downstairs or on the rooftop (about 5 storeys up), but those are normally over by 10 or 11pm latest.
With full-time precinct security, Maboneng is perfect to explore on foot. Enjoy being part of a growing, changing, vibrant and eclectic neighbourhood. The area also makes a great base from which to explore the rest of Joburg - from must-see historical spots to captivating tours.
The apartment is also located in a building with 24-hour security,

About the host
Hosted by Thandie Dowery

I am a South African-American freelance writer, jewellery maker and property manager. I host a handful of properties in Cape Town, Durban and Joburg. Need help with yours? Drop me a line!
I'm originally from New York City, but have been living in South Africa since 1998. Will NEVER look back. Absolutely love it here... (",)
I'm a series addict - my faves are The Mindy Project, The Originals, Orange is the New Black, How to Get Away with Murder...I could go on and on. I love reading non-fiction of my best is the Girl in the Picture (about the famous image of a naked Vietnamese girl who had just fallen victim to a napalm bombing). I also love Heart of Fire - about a Sudanese girl who became a child soldier and grew up to be a well-known singer in Germany.
I've travelled to Canada, Switzerland, Malawi and Mozambique - Croatia and Japan will be added to the list soon, hopefully!
That's me in a nutshell.
