Shaded Mama Bear Cottage on Squam Lake

Lovingly known as "Mama Bear", this rustic cottage was built in the 1950s. The cabin sleeps 2-4 in a studio-style space, with a full size bed in the bedroom area and full-size futon in the living room area. The cottage includes an efficiency style kitchen with a small stove/oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, cooking/serving utensils, a stall shower in the enclosed bathroom, and your own gas grill, picnic table, and fire pit outside. Cell service is limited in the area, and while Wifi is available throughout the property, Mama Bear's location receives spotty wifi service. If consistent wifi service is a priority in your cottage, please look at booking our sister site, Papa Bear.

Please note: Linens are not included in the price but can be added as an extra for $100 per stay.

Within walking distance of the town of Holderness, you are steps away from delicious award-winning eateries, cafes, and the cutest local library you're ever going to visit.

Mama Bear parking is adjacent to the cottage, with a few stair steps to the covered entrance. This cabin is at the top of the paved hill on our property and across from the Main House, nestled in the shade of towering trees.

We have our own private beach and dock space on Cotton Cove at Squam Lake. Access to the beach and dock is shared for the main house and 2 cabins and is located just across the street. If you are interested in renting a dock slip for your boat, please reach out to us when making your reservation to confirm it is available.

Additionally, we have 2 single kayaks, life jackets, chairs, and some fishing poles for guest use. Be sure to bring your own beach towels.

We love our furry friends! 1 pet is allowed per week to ensure everyone has a fun and relaxing trip. When contacting us about your reservation, please ask if we have availability for pets.
