About this property
The Last Resort - A Cozy Hill Country Cabin
This is a quiet, comfortable cabin named the Last Resort because there is no spa, fluffy robes, or room service. This cozy cabin sits on over 9 beautiful acres of Texas Hill Country, full of wildlife and plenty of space to get away. A perfect spot located just 16 miles from Fredericksburg, TX, 12 miles from Luckenbach, TX, and 16 miles from Comfort, TX.
There are loads of white-tailed deer and wildlife around, so please drive carefully through Alamo Springs Ranch on your way in.
Feel free to explore and hike all 9 acres of the cabin property. Please be mindful of wildlife and wear the appropriate gear for the Texas Hill Country rocky terrain and hiking the uneven paths.
The wildlife on the property ranges from deer to many varieties of birds, to Mexican free-tailed bats, to butterflies and lizards. Some may make their way inside, so please be mindful of closing doors and windows behind you.
Along with the wildlife, please be aware that the Texas Hill Country is also the habitat for poisonous animals and insects including snakes, scorpions, centipedes, and wasps. These animals and insects are all important to the Texas Hill Country ecosystem. It is always a good idea to shake out linens, including bed sheets and towels, before use and be mindful of the cabin floor around you as some may make their way inside.
Firewood is provided for the fire pit. Please be mindful of the local burn ban in the area and only use the fire pit if it is safe to do so. There are also metal skewers provided and located in the cabin.
This is a residential area in Alamo Springs Ranch, located 16 miles south of Fredericksburg, Texas. Down the road is the Old Tunnel State Park with an impressive Mexican free-tailed bat colony. The old railroad tunnel here provides a seasonal home for around 3 million bats from May through October. Besides viewing the bats, you can also picnic, hike, bird-watch, stargaze and look for wildlife.
Located 12 miles from the cabin is Luckenbach, Texas. Home to a historic dance hall that is still in use every weekend, with live music daily, a General Store and a bar. Made famous by "Willie, Waylon & The Boys," Luckenbach Texas reflects an eclectic mix of its early history and an unrivaled legacy of great music that makes everyone "Somebody" in Luckenbach.
Comfort, Texas is also just 16 miles south of the cabin. Comfort is a charming and peaceful small town in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. With its rich history, stunning scenery, and friendly community, it is a wonderful place to visit.
