Jason W, First off, thank you for staying with us! As you know, we pride ourselves in providing a 5-star experience for our guests, with great communication. You and I had great communication throughout your stay. I find the lower review score quite a surprise. You were concerned with a fruit fly you found near the kitchen, and when it's 90 degrees outside in the heat of the summer, it's hard to stop things like that in the Cascade Mountains. Completely understand you are form the city and not use to things like this. This also come from fruit, hence the name, so hopefully you checked your groceries you brought in. They love bananas! You were also concerned about the pine needles that come off the trees in the yard and some were on the patio. With that being said, our landscaping company comes once a week to mow and blow, and when you mentioned there were lots of pine needles (September is shedding season for pine trees, fyi, I know you are new to the PNW and not use to mountain environments, I'm happy to educate you more on the environment here), we immediately brought over a leaf blower, blew off the patios again, and made it available for future guest use. You were there for a week, so our landscaper comes through Wednesday or Thursday, so fair to say more needles fall throughout a week then over a weekend. You also mentioned that you were running low of dishwasher pods on your last night there, so within two hours there was a 60 count box of them on the doorstep. You're only other concern was that we didn't have restaurant recommendations in our guest folder. So many people use trip advisor, google, etc, so we didn't think people would still rely on a folder with those things, but we've now added them for future guests. It was neat to know you work for Exp***a, and I'm glad that we were able to remedy your very minor requests you had (pine needles in the yard/patio and dishwasher pods running low), and hope you understand the singular fruit fly item. It's not an all the time thing, it's seasonal, and inevitable. Be expecting the same in the city as well. We have been doing vacation rentals for over 20 years, and we are a family business and pride ourselves in providing a beautiful, clean home for our guests, and pride ourselves in providing great communication and a great experience.
