This was my first time glamping. Everything was thought of! The tent was so cozy and so cute. She even decorated the bathroom trailer! We had a tasting and the owner could not of been more hospitable! Everything was perfect with a perfect view!

10/10 glamping experience, so much fun!
We celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary glamping at the Painted Prairie Vineyard and it was such a fun way to spend a weekend! We spent the afternoon at the winery enjoying delicious flatbreads and apps, along with great wine, of course! Elysa was my favorite! The cookie skillet with ice cream and homemade caramel sauce is a MUST! The pavillion staff are wonderful, fun and full of recommendations! We loved the surrounding beauty of the prairie, especially the wildflowers and trails around the vineyard. When we made our way to the glamping sites, it was exactly like the pictures on the website showed! Krista and Andy have really thought of every amenity you might need for a night which made our stay so easy and enjoyable! This felt like a totally pampering experience! There was even a bouquet of fresh flowers in our tent! Since the overnight temps were dipping into the 50s, I was worried we would be cold sleeping, but the heating unit kept us warm and cozy all night. Morning came and we woke up to a picnic basket of breakfast goodies on our doorstep and enjoyed coffee and muffins on the deck overlooking the lake. All in all, this was a very fun experience and we can’t wait to do it again! 10/10 recommend!!! Well done Kopperud’s and Painted Prairie staff!

Back in 2014, we set out to find a new place to call home in the countryside—never expecting to stumble upon something so extraordinary. Our realtor tipped us off about a stunning piece of land just about to hit the market…complete with a fully operating winery. Curious, we went to take a look—and from that moment on, everything changed. We were instantly captivated by the rolling prairie, the water, and the peaceful charm of what quickly became our rustic oasis. The vineyard and winery? That was the perfect bonus.
Always eager for a new adventure, we dove in headfirst—and Painted Prairie Vineyard has been our passion ever since. As lifelong residents of Southwest Minnesota, supporting local has always been at the heart of what we do. While we grow grapes on-site, we also source grapes and apples from nearby farms, all within an hour of us, to craft our wines. Our space reflects that same commitment, featuring décor and food from local businesses and vendors.
When you visit, you’ll meet us—Andy and Krista—along with our three spirited daughters, Annika, Elysa, and Britta. And if you’re lucky, you’ll also be greeted by Goldie, our friendly vineyard dog. We can’t wait to welcome you, share our little slice of prairie life, and raise a glass with you.
Why they chose this property
Set against the sweeping backdrop of Minnesota’s prairie lands, Painted Prairie Vineyard offers a rare fusion of rustic charm and refined simplicity. This family-owned vineyard isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to pause. Guests are welcomed into a working vineyard where small-batch wines, golden-hour views, and thoughtful hospitality set the tone. Whether you're here for a quiet escape or to connect over a wood-fired pizza night under the stars, Painted Prairie invites you to slow down and savor each moment. The vineyard’s deep roots in the land, commitment to craft, and genuine community spirit make it one of the most special stays in Minnesota wine country.
