It’s a great property in a prime location. Close to grocery stores like Giant and few restaurants. Clean and family friendly. Host was great and communicated well with us. check-in and checkout Instructions were clear and we had a great experience
I booked this home for a weekend stay because the listing specifically said birthday parties and gatherings were allowed. Before booking, I had a detailed conversation with the host, explaining that I’d be hosting a small family gathering on Saturday between 3–7 PM. I outlined everything that would take place, and she clearly confirmed that I could go ahead and book the home and host my gathering. While the house itself was nice and the stay started off well, the host’s behavior quickly turned the weekend into a stressful experience. Despite only having 7 people in the home (well under the 10-person overnight limit), she called and texted me multiple times accusing me of having too many people and even claimed I was throwing a party on Friday — which never happened. She also threatened to cancel my reservation during the stay, even though everything had been agreed upon beforehand. To make things worse, she told me she would be coming by at 8 PM on Saturday (the day of the actual gathering) to inspect the house — which was very uncomfortable and unnecessary, especially for something she had already approved. She never showed up. Then, the morning of checkout, she texted again

Thank you for your feedback. I always welcome honest reviews, but I do want to clarify some important details for accuracy.
This property is currently listed strictly as a no-party/no-event home, which is clearly stated in the listing and house rules. This policy was put in place after prior issues with large, disruptive gatherings, and it was communicated to this guest before check-in . While the guest referenced a previous conversation from an earlier inquiry, that was before the policy and listing were updated. At the time of this reservation, parties and events were not permitted.
During the stay, multiple neighbors reported excessive noise, loud music, and a large number of people entering and exiting the property well beyond the approved 7 registered guests. For the safety and protection of the property and neighborhood, I reached out to the guest several times to remind them of the house rules they agreed to in the rental agreement.
After checkout, my cleaning team discovered significant property damage, such as ruined bedding and blankets that had to be discarded. Extra cleaning time was required to restore the home due to the level of use beyond a normal stay.
I respect guests who follow the house rules and treat the property with care, but I also have a responsibility to protect my home and maintain a peaceful environment for the community. My communication during this booking was an effort to prevent escalation and ensure compliance—not to inconvenience the guest. Thank you.
