Thank you for your interest in my property. The unit is a rustic, yet cozy ground floor apartment in an old house built over 100 years ago. It retains some original charm and has been tastefully, yet minimally renovated by my own two hands, a real labor of love! The space is comfortable but quirky with minor flaws here and there.
This delightful property features 2 bedrooms. The first with a queen bed, clothing rack and hangers, bedside tables, and a desk/work space. The other bedroom has 2 twin beds, tables and a stereo/cd player. This room is sectioned off with curtains that can be opened or closed as you desire. Most windows throughout the apartment have shutters that allow for a dark and quiet sleeping environment. This cozy space is perfect for small groups or families.
The living room space with a sofa (twin bed) for added comfort, is where you'll also find the dining area and access to the kitchen.
The kitchen is equipped with a stove/oven, toaster, refrigerator, filter coffee machine, as well as a French press and espresso maker for the stovetop. Coffee and tea provided, in addition to salt, pepper, sugar, oil, paper towels, utensils, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, amongst other essentials for creating meals to save money on eating out in expensive Switzerland!
The bathroom, with a window, features a toilet, toilet paper provided, a relaxing bathtub/shower, towels, washing machine, iron, hair dryer, soap and shampoo.
Out your front door you will find a relaxing seating area equipped with a fire pit, firewood provided, as well as a gas grill.
Out your back door you have access to the relaxing, albeit a bit wild, garden. The garden has a trampoline, only 2 years old, practically new, which desires use as my own children have outgrown it, as well as a climbing frame, both great for the little ones. There is another seating area with another fire pit, a garden house perfect for a yoga session or enjoying the fresh air, rain or shine! Depending on the season, there are apples, pears, cherries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, and currants growing that you are welcome to enjoy.
I live upstairs with my two teenage sons and our sweet and curious dog, Lexi. I am often home and available if you have questions, concerns, need recommendations, etc...Parking is available in front of the house.
Schwarzenbach is located just under an hour from Zurich city via Switzerland's top rated public transportation or under an hour by car depending on traffic. We are two train stops from the airport and the bus stop for the bus to the nearest train station (5 minute ride) is right across the street. There is a bakery, Spar supermarket, pizza/Italian restaurant, and a gas station all within walking distance.
The Thur river is also in walking distance, as well as the wonderful school playground and forested areas.
This region offers easy access to the city of St. Gallen, Constance and its beautiful lake, Appenzell, Säntis mountain, and Maestrani Chocolate museum/factory, to name a few. Excursions to well-known places such as Stein am Rhein, Rhein Falls, and Zurich are also easy to reach, albeit a little further away.
