The Space:

This historic 1910 Philadelphia duplex offers the charm and character of an early 20th-century city home in a prime walkable location. You're just minutes from University City, Rittenhouse Square, Chinatown, Queen Village, and more. Restaurants, Whole Foods, bars, shopping, and a dog park are all nearby, with a 24/7 parking garage just down the street.



Our duplex was built in 1910, and we’ve intentionally preserved many of the original architectural details that give historic Philadelphia homes their character. Staying here means experiencing a classic city property rather than a modern, newly built apartment.



Because of the building’s age, you may notice a few features common in historic homes:



• Some floors are slightly uneven due to the original construction

• Certain ceilings are sloped because of the historic layout

• Plumbing systems may drain more slowly than in newer buildings



Many guests love the charm and personality of older homes, but if you prefer the feel of a newly built modern apartment, another listing may be a better fit.

The best part of this stay was the location, within walking distance to many sights and restaurants. Overall the unit felt a bit dreary, not like the pictures represent. But it was clean, beds were comfortable, and very convenient. It worked well for two couples.

It’s a nice 2 bedroom option in a perfect location. The steps are somewhat challenging. The separate location of the living room allows some nice separation if you have 3 adults with 1 in the living room. Can’t beat the location!

We booked this apartment for 6 people and did not have accommodations for all guests. there were no extra blankets or pillows. When we asked for them, we were instructed to look in closets that just had fitted sheets. Two of our guests just had fitted sheets to sleep with.

We found some issues with this rental. The place was not very clean...old towels with stains, bed linens had hairs on them (small but still) and there were only a bottom sheets and comforter. We would like to see top sheets because we highly doubt the comforters get washed. We ended up going to Target and buying sheets for our stay. The floors were pretty dirty. My daughters white socks were not so white after we left. A deep clean and little TLC would make a world of difference. A few notes...I wouldn't rent to anyone with small children/uncapable adults. The stairs are quite unsafe with one of the treads needing to be secured. It would pop up when stepped on. We were okay for one night but would not have stayed much longer. I'm also someone who has never written a negative review but I see potential liability issues here.
