Roof leaked, sinks weren’t connected to drains, power went out multiple times during or stay, communication with the owner was very poor, would not stay again

The host was very welcoming and accommodating. The house was just the right size for our large family and dogs. We had a great time all being in the same space. There were some things that needed updated/fixed.

If you like older style homes and architecture, you would probably enjoy this place. I'm guessing this home was built 80-100 yrs ago. Renovations have been done to make it a bit more modern, but there's no getting around the fact that is place is OLD. The layout is definitely unique. There's a half bath right off the dining room, which seems a little odd. The downstairs TV is in the dining room and not the living room. The house is pretty clean, but being as old as it is, there is some dust around. Power outlets are few, but there are power strips. The upstairs bathroom has an odd gap between the shower head wall and the main wall that looks like it goes all the way down to the basement. Maybe there was a dumb waiter at some point? The beds are comfortable and clean enough, which is always a big plus. The kitchen was furnished well enough, too. As for the neighborhood, the street itself it nice and quiet, but you have drive through a pretty sketchy neighborhood to get to it. Overall, I don't think I would want to stay here for an extended stay. It certainly wasn't what I was used to. It needs a few more amenities like TV's in the guest rooms, and better streaming/cable options for the TV. But for a couple of nights, it was fine and served it's purpose.
