Summary: A reimagined Vermont escape just minutes from Stratton, where natural textures, thoughtful design, and mountain proximity come together in one warm, welcoming retreat.
Tucked just off Stratton Mountain Road on a quiet, wooded lot, Downtime blends the comforts of home with the elevated touches of a design-led getaway. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an open-concept living space framed by vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, the home was built for both gathering and retreat, equally suited for weekend escapes, family holidays, or peaceful work-from-home stays.
The Space: Step through the front door and into a heated-tile entryway, ideal for shedding boots and gear in any season. The main living area opens up just beyond, with a soaring great room centered around a warm and inviting hearth, surrounded by windows that pull the outdoors in. Whether you're curled up with a book, catching up with friends, or just watching the snow fall through the trees, the space invites you to slow down.
To one side, a dining table comfortably seats ten, with an adjoining breakfast nook for slower mornings. The newly remodeled kitchen is outfitted with high-end Café appliances, including a six-burner gas range, and is fully stocked for easy meals at home. Open shelving, warm woods, and stone counters add character and function in equal measure.
Bedrooms are spacious and serene, each with soft lighting, quality linens, and peaceful views of the surrounding woods. The main-floor suite includes a private deck and en suite bath with a double vanity and heated tile floors. Upstairs, you’ll find two additional bedrooms that share a full bath with a tub, plus a cozy sitting area that’s perfect for reading or relaxing. One of the bedrooms features a queen bed along with a pull-out king for flexible sleeping arrangements. The second has twin beds tucked into charming nooks beneath the eaves, an ideal hideaway for kids or anyone seeking a bit of whimsy. All bathrooms feature heated tile floors for an extra layer of comfort during cooler months.
The Neighborhood: Located just five miles from the base of Stratton and under 20 minutes to both Bromley and Manchester, Downtime gives you easy access to skiing, hiking, dining, and shopping, without sacrificing peace and privacy. Beautiful house and perfect spot for a quiet getaway! Very thoughtful design to the house and amenities and was very cozy. Only problem was a fire alarm malfunctioning, in which it was difficult to get in touch with the owner to get the code to fix it. Otherwise its a fantastic stay and we really enjoyed the house.
