About this property

River Views | Private Hot Tub | The Willow Cabin

Set on a quiet bluff with views of the Union River, The Willow is a quiet, accessible cabin designed for stillness and comfort. It sleeps four, with a queen bed on the main level and a second queen bed in a loft above. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the trees and the rapids, with a hot tub, smokeless fire pit, and 1.5 miles of forest trails just outside. Calm and secluded, yet close to downtown Ellsworth, Acadia National Park, and the beauty of Downeast Maine.

The Willow Cabin is equipped for comfort, quiet, and time spent well—whether preparing a meal, soaking under the stars, or watching light shift through the trees.

Inside, you’ll find a compact kitchen with an induction cooktop, mini-oven, dishwasher, and essentials for daily cooking. There’s a combination washer-dryer, a small desk and chair, and a wood-burning stove for warmth and atmosphere. A mini-split heat pump keeps the air comfortable in any season. Beds are made up with organic cotton and Oeko-Tex certified linens and towels, and the bathroom and kitchen are stocked with simple, plant-based cleansers.

Outdoors, the Willow offers a private hot tub, a smokeless fire pit, a hammock, a propane grill, and outdoor seating. Private parking includes an EV charging station.

The loft sleeping area is accessed by a sturdy alternating tread ship’s ladder, handcrafted on site. Please use care when climbing. The loft may not be suitable for small children or guests with mobility concerns.

Please note:

1. Current rates reflect a significant discount as Arbor Camp continues to grow. While The Willow is complete and fully private, you may hear or see construction activity elsewhere on our 30-acre property as we build additional dwellings. It’s an exciting time—the forest is shifting, new paths are forming, and you’re part of the beginning.

2. While we love pets very much, we regret that we are unable to accommodate them at Arbor Camp.

All indoor and outdoor features of the Willow are yours alone to enjoy throughout your stay—from the fire pit and hammock to the grill and private hot tub.

A code for the smart lock and WiFi information will be sent to you the day of check-in.

About the host

Hosted by Rachel @ Arbor Camp

Host profile image
Arbor Camp began in 2022, when three friends came together to build a quiet place in the woods. Thirty acres along the Union River in Ellsworth offered the space—and the inspiration—for something lasting. The project was shaped by Maine’s camp tradition: simple, seasonal dwellings that invite stillness, comfort, and connection to the land.

From the start, the idea was simple: to create a place that feels good to step into. Each of us brought different experience—design, building, creative work—but shared a clear vision: spaces that are well made, deeply comfortable, and in tune with their surroundings. Arbor Camp grew from that collaboration. The result is a quiet retreat in the Maine woods, where time slows and the beauty of the landscape comes steadily into view.

Why they chose this property

Cabins and treehouses at Arbor Camp are spaced for privacy and quiet, and walking trails were cut by hand to follow the natural shape of the land.

Wildlife is part of daily life here. Songbirds call from the canopy. Heron and eagles pass overhead. Deer move through the understory, and turkeys wander the clearings. Mushrooms—chanterelles, black trumpets, and others—rise through the forest floor in season.

What makes this property unique

Tucked among 30 acres of private woodlands, each of Arbor Camp’s cabins and treehouses is designed as a place for restful delight in the Maine woods. Expansive windows frame views of sky and pines and the river beyond. Our unique dwellings stand apart, designed for you to enjoy the peace and quiet of the forest in beautiful comfort. Unwind in your private hot tub after days spent exploring Acadia National Park and all the cultural and culinary offerings of Downeast Maine. Read a book in the hammock, roast a marshmallow over the smokeless fire pit. Sleep on the beds we’ve built by hand from trees that grew right here in these woods. We’ve made a place for you to rest and delight in the beauty of the forest.
