About this property

After an amazing first few years as a rental, we are looking forward to another full calendar this year! We hope to see many returning guests, and some new ones too! We look forward to your stay in this awesome South Haven vacation home. It is located within walking distance to South Beach, Kids Corner, and all of the shopping and restaurants Downtown has to offer. Walk straight down our street (South Haven Street) to Lake Michigan, for a day at the beach, or a beautiful sunset. Come to South Haven and fall in love with this friendly and beautiful SW Michigan beachtown, just as we did several years ago.

The home has lovely and comfortable furnishings/decorations throughout that are a combination of brand new furniture, and locally purchased antiques and accents. If you choose to cook while on vacation, the fully stocked kitchen will feel like home. The home comfortably accomodates up to 6 people. The master bedroom features a king size bed, bedroom 2 has two twin beds, and the 3rd bedroom has bunk beds. The living room has plenty of seating with a large sectional couch and chair, and 2 ottomans (for kicking your feet up, or extra seating). Enjoy the 40 inch HDTV and Blu-Ray player in the living room, and smaller flat-screen TV in the 2nd bedroom with built-in DVD player. The home has a large assortment of cable TV channels, and wireless internet. The quiet street and private backyard make for relaxing outside time.

Great Stay!

We had a lovely time! I will say the property is a bit of a walk to the beach entrance (about 15 minutes), so we’d drive, but there was PLENTY of parking. The home itself is very quaint, but has so many great amenities and the owner is super nice and easy to work with. Absolutely worth the price, and we’d recommend. Side note: we have two small children (ages 2 and 7).

We had a wonderful time , we have three kids 8,5 ,4. Location was prefect - we scootered to the beach and kids corner every day and walked into town for ice cream in the evening. Loved the fire pit and the coziness of the cottage !

Great home away from home, family friendly

This was a great place to stay as a family of four -close enough to all of things we wanted to see and be near, specifically the beach; with a kitchen that had all the tools we needed + a nice gas grill out back! Zero complaints.

Great vacation rental in South Haven

My boys and I had a great time! The house was clean and had everything we needed for the week. The beach and downtown are within a nice little walk. We enjoyed the park, beach, restaurants and a campfire at night!

Exceeded my expectations!

I was more than pleased. The cottage is cuter than the pictures and very clean. The owners were very responsive. It was stocked with everything you could need, and all of it nice quality. Including beach chairs and two bicycles! I highly recommend.

Wonderful family cottage!

We absolutely loved our stay at this South Haven cottage! Communication with the owner was quick and easy (even allowed us to easily change our rental week due to a work conflict). The house was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 young boys). Our children could choose each night to either sleep in the room with the TV, or sleep in the bunkbeds - hard decision! The house was adorably decorated and immaculate, and a short walk to the beach/park. It had everything we needed (even some unexpected surprises of games and fun beach toys). We also were close enough to ride our bikes daily into town. At the end of each day, we enjoyed roasting marshmellows in the firepit. Thank you so much for taking good care of us and allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage!

Perfect family stay!

Our family (kids ages 3, 5, and 7 months) stayed here for our first little vacation at the beginning of June. We could not have asked for a better little place! It was the perfect location...so easy to walk everywhere. The house had everything we needed from baskets full of toys to a garage stocked with a grill, beach toys and chairs, and a wagon. The owner was great to work with , responsive, and trustworthy. We loved South Haven, too! It was such a quiet, quaint town and our kids were able to enjoy the beach without a huge crowd. I would highly recommend this home for an affordable, relaxing, family vacation!

Absolutely perfect!

My husband, 3 kids (ages 6 and 3) and I just returned from a week stay in this property - everything was perfect! The owner was wonderful to work with - super responsive, friendly and organized. The house was nicely decorated and really clean and was the perfect size for us. We loved to walk into town every day to go out to eat, hit up the farmers market and shop. It's an easy walk to town, the beach and a large park. The house is fully stocked - everything you could need for a wonderful vacation, including beach chairs and toys. Although it's nice to disconnect, the wifi came in handy for browsing the internet too (overall signal in South Haven is relatively weak)! It really is a home away from home - my kids were so sad to leave and are still talking about how much they miss the cottage! I highly recommend this property and plan to return!

Great family vacation home!

My family of four (children ages 9 and 8) spent a week at this home and it was fantastic! Owners are very responsive and easy to work with. The house is a short walk to the beach and the owners have all kinds of beach equipment ready for use...chairs, toys and a wagon to haul the gear in which made life super easy. The house is also just a few blocks south of town which made it easy to walk to for dinner and all the various stores to shop in. The house is comfortable and had everything you could possibly need for an extended stay. We truly enjoyed the stay here and are looking forward to coming back again!

Great little family retreat

My family (two adults, two little girls) stayed at this quaint cottage last week and couldn't have been happier. Let me start off by saying working with the owner was a complete breeze. He was very thorough and prompt besides just being a very nice guy. The house was beautiful inside and out, very well kept. We felt more like we were staying in someone's home than in a rental. The house appeared almost completely remodeled. There is an abundance of beach toys, beach chairs, etc. in the garage. You really don't have to bring anything with you in that regard. The beach and downtown are definitely in walking distance. My daughters utilized the large open church lot behind the house for catching fire flies. I would absolutely recommend staying at this beautiful little home in South Haven.

Such a quaint cottage!

We stayed at this cute cottage last summer and it was a BLAST! Super easy walk to down town and the beach!! Also you can walk right down the street to Kid Town a HUGE playground. The kids loved it! Only a few blocks away from a huge staircase right to the sand. Such a great location for a family or two. We actually fit 5 adults and a baby fine. The kitchen was stocked as well as a wagon and beach tent for the kids. We are from Michigan but live in Arizona now so it is nice to go back to South Haven and have family all come visit. A lot of great memories were made in this house including our daughter starting to crawl!

My husband, myself and 3 kids (ages 8 & twins 5) had a wonderful stay in South Haven. The house was great location to Kids Corner playground which our kids loved and to the beach. Our kids loved to bike down. The owners had many extras that helped us with our stay like a wagon and beach toys. We were also able to bike downtown easily too. The house was clean and very well-maintained. It was all we needed for an enjoyable vacation. The owner was easy to contact and very nice.

Excellent Place to Stay!!!

My wife and and I were looking for a place to go in order to get away a little for some relaxation. We were very pleased with the communication with the owner and how they were organized with giving us instructions about the house. The house was great. It was very clean and felt like home. There was everything that we needed and it was an enjoyable walk to the beach and to the town for dinner. We enjoyed morning runs along the beach and the sunsets out on the pier. If you park in the driveway, you will have to leave the car in the middle of the driveway due to the neighbors trees that drip something on the car. We cant say enough about how great the house was. If we ever are in South Haven again we will first try to stay here. It was incredible. Thank you for your hospitality.

Congenial owner and clean, cute house!

My little boy (age 3) and I stayed in this house for a week and had a great time. A friend and her preschool-aged daughter also stayed for part of the week, and they had a ball as well. The house is very child-friendly, including the supply of beach toys and the wagon that made our treks to the beach so much easier than if we'd been on foot. (We found it easiest for one of us to pull the kids in the wagon while the other drove the gear in a car to the plentiful, free parking by the beach). The kids loved playing in the back yard, too. The house was super clean, very cutely decorated and furnished, and pretty well-stocked, although items like serving bowls and sharp cutting knives would've been more helpful for the nights that we cooked meals at the house. But the owners are likely to accumulate more of that type of thing as they continue to rent -- for a first-year rental, what they supplied was good. There is a gas grill and also a small camper grill that we used, and the table and chairs on the patio were a welcome site for some outdoor meals. The reason I'm giving the house four stars instead of five is threefold: First, the serious cook that I am would've appreciated the aforementioned items to help facilitate meal prep and serving, which may be a minor point for some. And 2, this is entirely a personal preference, but with two kids in tow, I'd like to stay a bit closer to town so that it's an easier walk for the little ones (this could be remedied by bringing a stroller, but I can't fit one in my sedan's trunk when it's fully packed; or by driving, but we're a walking family). Finally, as a single woman staying part of the time by myself with a small child, I would have preferred a house with an alarm system (not something I thought about prior to renting; only after I was there alone) and where the locks on the doors are not accessible if someone were to smash the glass on the doors' windows. I'm a city dweller and accustomed to living on a second- or higher floor, so again, this is ENTIRELY a personal thing!! Overall, though, our stay was wonderful, and Ryan is absolutely a pleasure to deal with. He's a timely and clear communicator and very responsive: When I called him to let him know the propane tank on the grill was empty, he offered to reimburse us if we chose to replace it. I'm sure we will visit South Haven again - the town itself is quaint and charming and the perfect beach town, and I would consider staying here again!

The owners were very nice and helpful on answering all of my questions. This was a first for me renting through VRBO and I would do it again. I enjoyed this property. It was clean and comfortably decorated. They had all the amenities you would need. It was only a 5 minute walk to town and 4 blocks to the beach. Thanks to the owners for sharing their home. Perfect House!

Our family loved our stay! The house was set up with renters in mind - everything we might need was waiting for us. The house was so clean, I felt right at home. My husband was able to stay connected to work with the Wi-Fi. We could walk to the huge playscape and the beach. We were two minutes from the shops and restaurants in downtown South Haven. The downtown farmer's market on Wednesday and Saturday gave us access to Michigan's fabulous fruit and organic vegetables. Some nights we cooked in, some nights we went out - all was so easy! Any questions we had for the renter were answered quickly. We loved every minute of our stay and would definitely come back!

Great cozy home in South Haven

We loved are stay in South Haven!!! The house location was perfect...Close to South Beach & their charming downtown shops and resturants. How do I describe the house...Quaint, clean, comfy & cozy a rather charming home. All furniture and amenities were in great condition almost brand new. To our surprise there were 2 adult bikes available in the garage for use as well. The owner was a great communicator & a delight to work with. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting South Haven.
