We’re Bill and Jill Cavaliere, lifelong residents of the Portal-Rodeo area with deep roots in this beautiful corner of the Southwest. Bill is a retired border lawman, former county sheriff, birder, historian, and author of The Chiricahua Apaches: A Concise History. Jill is a registered nurse who loves meeting guests from all over the world. We both enjoy sharing the peace, wildlife, and rich heritage of this unique area with our visitors.
Why they chose this property
This isn’t just where we live—it’s part of who we are. The base of the Chiricahua Mountains offers some of the best birding, hiking, and stargazing in the country. We’re just minutes from Cave Creek Canyon, where stunning rock formations, abundant wildlife, and clear desert skies draw naturalists and adventurers from around the world. It’s a quiet, close-knit place where nature still speaks—and people take time to listen.
