About this property
Everwood ~ Hot Tub, Views. Private and Updated Retreat
Everwood is your serene retreat nestled among the trees perched on a private hillside just above the Russian River and near Northwood Golf Course. Perfect for cooking meals with family and friends - eating inside or out on the secluded deck surrounded by towering redwood trees. Inside – Everwood is updated for comfort and a constant visual connection with nature - the contemporary home features a cook’s kitchen with high-end appliances and hand-crafted redwood bar. The open concept living area has a cathedral ceiling and a cozy woodstove to complement central heating. Three floors – each with a Queen bedroom and full bathroom and natural light from windows throughout. Enter the house on the middle level where the living and dining areas face trees galore. Opposite, find the extensive kitchen, dedicated workspace. A bedroom, full bathroom, and laundry area round out this floor. Upstairs, the primary suite offers treetop views and an ensuite bath. Downstairs, the third bedroom and radiant floor-heated bathroom with custom redwood slab counters and tile shower provide additional privacy, and a charming deck to sip your morning coffee.
The expansive deck and newly installed hot tub invite you to relax or dine any time of day. This .8-acre property also includes a winter-only creek and private outbuilding. Guests can explore the terraced and hillside grounds, hike nearby trails at Armstong Woods, and watch for stars peeking between the trees in the peaceful rural setting. Vineyards, tasting rooms, wineries, and breweries surround the area for the times you aren’t floating on the river. With nearby access to Northwood Golf, downtown Guerneville, river beaches, and the Sonoma Coast, Everwood is perfectly situated for your Wine Country getaway.
Know Before You Book:
Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Everwood is 6 people not including kids under 3 years old. Quiet hours are from 9 pm until 7 am. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at all times. This is a very quiet residential neighborhood. Please drive slowly and help us maintain good neighbor relations.
A Note About Our Cleaning Fees: Thank you for supporting our local business! When you stay with us, you support local families at work. We think everyone deserves a decent living wage, and we make sure to set the rates and fees so that our cleaners earn a living wage in beautiful Sonoma County.
Parking: There is parking for a maximum of 3 vehicles in the driveway – 2 under the carport closest to the house and 1 under a 2nd carport further down the driveway. There is no street parking or shoulder. RVs, trailers, and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.
Bed Sizes: Upper-level bedroom: Queen bed; Middle level bedroom: Queen bed; Lower-level bedroom: Queen bed.
Bedrooms and Doors: The upstairs bedroom is fully enclosed – not a loft – but does not have a door at the top or bottom of the stairs. There is a 180* turn in the stairs, so there is full visual privacy for guests in the upper bedroom. The middle and lower level bedrooms have doors.
Heating: Central heat keeps the house cozy year-round. While there may be firewood at the property, firewood and kindling are not provided for the woodstove. We recommend bringing your own or checking the property before purchasing wood.
Cooling: The house does not have air conditioning. Being near the coast, the nighttime temps drop and just opening some windows is usually enough to cool the house. There are screens on the windows and a ceiling fan in the living/dining area.
Kitchen: There is a dishwasher, double oven, and gas range. The kitchen is fully stocked (minus groceries) for your stay.
Bathrooms: Upper-level bathroom: shower; Middle level bathroom: shower over bathtub and the laundry area; Lower-level bathroom: shower. The lower-level bathroom has radiant floor heating and a towel-warmer!
Location: Everwood is in a cozy residential, hillside neighborhood. It is a mix of permanent residents and vacation rentals, families, working folks, and visitors. To honor this balance, we ask guests to park only in the designated areas of the driveway and respect the quiet hours in addition to general family-friendly, residential neighborhood expectations. Everwood is set on nearly an acre parcel, but sound carries so we ask guests to be aware of noise – especially once quiet time starts at 9 pm. Thank you for helping to continue the tradition of a mutually beneficial relationship between vacation rentals and local community!
Rural Setting and Critters: We live in a rural area with ants, spiders, rodents, and larger critters from raccoons and mountain lions to bears. While we make the best effort to prevent them coming into homes, we also do not use poison where it can harm wildlife, pets, and children. And keeping all critters out is simply not possible. We appreciate your help in putting tasty smelling items into refrigerators, proper disposal of trash, and understanding that ants (especially) come in without warning and may not have been present at the time of cleaning. If you adventure though the undeveloped areas of the property, be sure to wear mosquito repellant and check for hitchhikers.
Cell Phones: Please be aware that many cell phones will not have service at this location. There is wifi though!
Road to Everwood: The house is located up a narrow one-lane road. It is a two-way, one-lane curvy hillside road - fully paved and no special vehicle is required. You may need to stop/pull over for oncoming traffic. There are deer and other wildlife on the roads and in the area. We recommend taking the road slowly and trying to arrive in daylight the first time. Detailed written driving directions are provided to confirmed guests. The driveway is paved and clearly defined but may be steeper than you are used to.
Stairs and Paths: Everwood is a 3-story home on a 0.8-acre hillside lot with several terraces and seating areas above and below the house. Multiple sets of stairs and paths connect the indoor and outdoor spaces. We encourage guests to look at the photos and floor plans to see if this is the right fit for your group. There are 3 stairs from the parking area to the front door. There is a flight of stairs from the entry level of the house up to the upper bedroom and a full bathroom. There is a flight of stairs from the entry level to the lower bedroom and a full bathroom. Paths and outdoor stairs follow natural contours and are not evenly spaced or level.
Pet Policy: No pets allowed.
Fencing: There is some fencing between neighbors, but the property is mostly unfenced to allow wildlife clear passage.
Security: For the safety of guests and the home, there is a doorbell camera at the home entrance - facing the front deck and parking area.
Work from HERE: Everwood has a dedicated desk (motorized sit/stand option) in a work nook on the middle level of the home with a desk, office chair, lamp, and outlets.
Advertised Wifi Speed: Download: 1100 Mbps. Upload: 306.02 Mbps

Seasonal Creek: There is “mostly winter” seasonal creek running along one edge of the property. It’s too small for boats, but fun to watch and listen to when running.

Driving Distances:
Proximity to wineries: Korbel Winery is 5.9 miles and oodles more within a short drive.
