Comfortable nice cabin, great porchIt is on a hard curve so there is some traffic going by but very little. I would just be careful if you did bring a pet. There were deer in the morning which we loved. The river is accessible and if weather has been nicer I think we would have spent most of our time down there.
Lovely stay at this property! Quiet neighborhood and plenty of space for our family. Convenient to Mentone, Menlo, Cloudland. Susan was responsive & great to work with.
Had the Most Amazing and Peaceful weekend away with friends. The cabin/home was Unbelievable!!! Even more Phenomenal than in the pics!! Checkin was super easy! Will definitely recommend!!
The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice the stay was great I will defiantly book it again and would recommend it to anyone property manager was prompt with answering question there are no complaint from me on this property ....
Thoroughly enjoyed the cabin. My son had a great time fishing in the river below the cabin and even caught several largemouth bass. Would definitely go back again.
This property is incredible and cozy! Private and clean with excellent views. The host was spectacular and adhered to any questions quickly. The wifi was spotty but the host was quick to send someone out to repair it! Fantastic place and we will be back!
We spent the week here following a camp pick up. We don’t usually stay on the east fork side of town but the property and river were just what we needed! Christine is a delight and we look forward to staying in touch.
Our family of 4 stayed at the cabin for Spring break and it could not have been better! This cabin is absolutely beautiful and perfect for families with kids. I was worried about the road after reading some other reviews but it was not busy at all. The river is close enough but not so close that kids can’t play outside safely. We spent every afternoon playing in the water and canoeing. The back porch is screened in and was the perfect spot for us to play board games and spend the evenings. The bedrooms have beautiful views and were incredibly comfortable. The side/front porch was a perfect spot for morning coffee and had the coziest rocking chairs. My kids cried the whole drive down the mountain when we left saying they miss the cabin. We can not wait to book again!
The cabin is convenient to everything but yet the kids were happy to just stay there. They enjoyed the porches and the large yard area. The views to the water are great and they enjoyed fishing in the beautiful water. The area is excellent and we enjoyed meeting some of the neighbors and locals fishing. Nobody wanted to leave. We will be back soon. We did have our dog with us and plenty of room for him to play and run without crowds. He loved it as much as we did.
Quiet, nice property. The cabin was clean although it needs an interior paint job. King beds were comfortable. Cabin was roomy and had a very nice screened in porch. River was a short walk away. Loved the gas fireplace. We did use it on the chilly mornings. Kitchen was adequate but some of pots and pans do need replacing. Some were very grungy. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the cabin.

Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
Good stay but needs some work.
Good stay all items that were represented in pictures were solid. There were some little things like no service for cell phones and no lights causing us to walk on to neighbor's front porch looking for the site. Cleanliness was not great stains on beds, trash in kitchen upon arrival, toilets not cleaned, no additional trash bags, no paper towels, pots and pans were not cleaned all the way. The wifi was ran off the neighbors account and not continuous at any point during the stay and when it was on it didn't work well. beautiful scenery spacious inside just need to fix those items.
Air conditioner was out in the upstairs where 2 bedroooms are located. Once notified owner responded quickly and had someone repair it the next day. It took 2 days to cool it enough for sleeping and the third day when we were planning to sleep upstairs the power went out for 10 hours! Despite all that the 6 of us camped out in the family room and had a fun time. We moved up on the fourth night and were very comfortable. It’s super dark without electricity so I would suggest a large flashlight for the cabin. The home is lovely and roomy and close to the river. Views are nice and peaceful. House is well built and maintained. Decorations are unique and fun. Convenient to 2 stores. We had a great time and hope to return again. Also, would suggest a bigger coffee pot that works. We went out and bought our own!
It was nice and relaxing! We completely enjoyed our time there!

About the host
Hosted by Susan Collins
I now live in Baton Rouge, La. but was raised only 17 miles from the cabin in Fort Payne, Al. I love the mountain and built the Guest House so I could be close to those who visited to enjoy their company when they are my personal friends and family but to give them their own space. This mountain is the most beautiful place on earth to me.
Why they chose this property
I originally looked at brow property but when I saw this property I was hooked. 6 acres, huge River Frontage, Dock to load and unload your boat. Close to everything I need yet truly relaxing, surrounded by nature.
What makes this property unique
Both Cabins on the property have large screened in porches furnished to just Rock or enjoy an outdoor lunch or dinner.
The grounds are landscaped with Rhododendron, Azaleas, and Dogwood, all natural to the mountain.
Your Dog will surely understand that he/she is on vacation with all the squirrels and birds they can chace.
You are within minutes of your daily excursion and you will never run out of interesting activities.
