This was a nice and private place to stay to celebrate our daughter’s 20th birthday. The weather was a little rainy so we could not enjoy the pool as much as we had hoped. We would stay here again.
My sons family lives 4 hours from us and we all love to float the rivers in the area. This place is just a few minutes to the San Marcus. This was our 3rd stay here. Each room is private when needed but also has the large common room to gather. The pool is great!
We stayed here for my daughter’s graduation from Texas State. Beautiful place with lots of privacy. Rooms were spacious. Only wish there was a stove to cook. Aside from that it was great. Thank you.
We booked our stay a few months in advance hoping for a warm spring weekend to play in the pool. The weekend we went up it was the last of the spring cold fronts with lots of rain. But the sweets were cozy, comfy and inviting. We can get to play at the pool much but we did enjoy snuggling on the couches and loveseats under the blankets, eating popcorn and watching some great family movies. Was a great weekend
Cute little stay out in the country but so close to the city as well. We were only a 10/15 minute Uber into downtown San Marcos which was perfect! They had everything we needed there from towels to snacks to dishes in every room! Each room is like its own little suite which I didn’t realize but was perfect for my group going since it was a group of friends with their significant others, we all got our own private space which was nice. Owners were very friendly and responsive, we had a little mosquito problem our first night (San Marcos had just had tooooons of rain) and we texted about it and they IMMEDIATELY brought bug spray for us. They were great and 10/10 recommend staying here!
Could be a nice place! Both gfi plugs in bathrooms were broken. Called to repair and they only fixed one. Description of the common room say queen bed and twin bed. They were no beds only air mattresses. Big difference!
This was perfect for our family trip and my elderly dog. We needed flat surfaces for her to navigate. The pool was wonderful. The common room and bedrooms are accessed through separate doors outside. This was good for us, but maybe not for everyone- just be aware of the setup. The owners do a good job of presenting it. If you’re looking to cook a lot or store a lot of food items just beware that there are 3 mini fridges. This worked for us because we mostly ate out while we were there. We had a great time with the foosball table and had several tournaments. Great memories. Beds were comfortable.

Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Listing is miss leading
Did not know I was going to have people physically watching me enjoy my stay. Listing says the property is not shared. That is not the case. A gathering of less the 20 people that did not stay was not an event. It was a few people that wanted to celebrate my birthday.
It was a neat set up but not for us. The rooms are very separate. You can not access the living room nor the second bedroom with out going outside. This maybe a great set up for some, but did not work for us as daughter was not going sleep in a room by herself without us having direct access to it. I don’t think this was accurately shown on the listing . Now if we had come with two other adults.. perfect set up! We did not use the pool as it was a bit chilly, but it did look inviting as did the big porch.
The house was double booked. Couldn’t get ahold of anyone for two hours. Finally got through to VRBO. We were stuck with no where to go, town was sold out and we had to drive back home. Booked three months in advance and never was made aware of the double booking until we arrived with another family in the home. Host did not respond for several hours and only responded through email. VRBO helped as much as they could, but we were still stranded. Host double booked location and said they just found out. After three hours of waiting for a response. Never have I had this experience, definitely could reach others when needed in the past, just not this one. I would definitely avoid. Put us in a really tight situation with hotels fully booked out even in surrounding towns.
We enjoyed the layout with separate rooms and common area. The suites are spacious and comfortable. Lots of water pressure, plenty of towels and tp provided. Only got to use the pool once due to rain but it was pleasant and clean. We played board games in the common room and it was great for the rainy days. Host was quick to respond to any questions. We were grateful they allow dogs and there was plenty of space for our Great Danes. All in all we had a pleasant stay with a friend and us having complete indoor privacy in our own separate suites. It’s a great layout for that purpose.
A few items could be improved. It is not apparent from the listing photos that the hosts home is literally right next to the suites and when using the pool within direct view of their windows. We never saw anyone but we could hear their dogs and it didn’t feel private. My dogs were overly interested in checking out their patio area and it was frustrating keeping them away from the windows. A fence blocking off the area would be a huge improvement - even if chain link or wrought iron. The internet is very slow and the direct tv didn’t work until our last night. The common room had an odd smell. Door and bath mats inside the lighthouse suite would be helpful. The yard needed to be mowed so it’s easier to pick ip after the dogs, especially in the rain. Some pretty easy to remedy areas and we would stay again if resolved.
A lovely stay at a quiet and peaceful property. My mom and I and our two smaller dogs enjoyed. The suites were very clean and had all that we needed and we really appreciated the quiet neighborhood. The pool and patio looked inviting but we stayed at a time the weather was cold, wet and rainy. Our host was quick to respond when I had trouble figuring out the TV and remotes. We would stay again. Thank you Stephanie!
It was very relaxing and quiet place to stay. Also clean and stock with coffee snacks and other things to make your visit easier. It was very close to where our daughter's wedding took place. Very pleased🙂
This is one of my favorite places to stay for the weekend. Even though it has a pool, the pool is in the middle of a pastoral setting so it feels like you are out in the hill country while you are swimming. Thank you for a great weekend!
Home away from home, but with a beautiful private pool.
The property was even better than described. My husband I stayed at the property with our 9, 7 and 5 year old grandkids. They loved playing in the pool and playing foosball. We set up our own cornhole game in the yard too. There were movies, popcorn, games, books, coloring and activity books and markers, crayons etc. Our 5 year old granddaugther loved the activity and coloring books. There were also dolls, cars and trucks etc. The main hit was the pool of course. The temperature was perfect and the pool was very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast foods and hot cocoa. Our daughter and her husband and their 3 year old visited us that first day when they dropped the other kids and they loved it too. We are hoping to stay again sometime. Thank you Stephanie for a great stay.
Beautiful, quiet property with plenty of room for a family and wonderful private pool! We’ve stayed here a couple of times and plan on coming again soon!
We were there for an event, and had our two fur babies with us, as they are the primary reason we started using VRBO, the facility made it easy to walk the dogs, move our equipment from the vehicle to the room and back again.
If we attend the same event next year, we will be using the same property if it's available.
