The Wilderness Lodge is located in Rantoul, Kansas, a quiet, rural community about one hour south of Kansas City. It’s the ideal place to unplug and unwind—surrounded by wide-open skies, natural beauty, and Midwest charm. While secluded, the lodge is a short drive from nearby towns with grocery stores, gas stations, and essentials.

Inside, the open-concept great room features soaring wood beams, lodge décor, and plenty of seating for your group to gather. The fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and oversized island makes shared meals easy. Two private queen suites offer quiet retreats, while two bunk-style rooms with four queen beds each are perfect for larger groups.

Outside, enjoy hiking trails, lawn games, a covered patio with fireplace and grill, and peaceful seclusion in every direction. Whether you’re hosting a retreat, celebrating a milestone, or reconnecting with loved ones, this Rantoul lodge was made for unforgettable memories.

Due to its rural location, we highly recommend arriving by car. The property is located on a county dirt road, so please plan vehicle transportation accordingly. There is ample parking onsite. The lodge is located approximately:

45 minutes from Overland Park
25 minutes from Ottawa, KS
15 minutes from basic shopping and gas stations

*Entertainment included: karaoke machine, pool table, poker table, hot tub, kayaks and life jackets, frisbee golf, and a storage box that is filled with outdoor games, including volleyball, badminton, cornhole, and fishing gear.

*We're on 400 acres of beautiful Kansas countryside, which means peace, quiet, and yes... bugs. Despite regular pest control, you may see a few critters inside and out. It's part of the charm of country living! We recommend bringing bug spray so you enjoy the outdoors during your stay.*

*VRBO & DIRECT BOOKINGS: IDENTITY VERIFICATION and PROPERTY INSURANCE REQUIREMENT: To help you relax and enjoy your stay, we have partnered with SafelyStay, Inc. to provide reservations with damage protection of up to $1,500. This protection plan is $45 for all stays under 29 nights, and is included in the cost of your booking. Stays 30-59 nights will be required to pay an additional insurance premium of $305 directly on our website. Stays longer than 59 nights will be separately charged for damage protection extension at the rate of $130/30 days. Guest screening/identity verification is also required. Once your booking is confirmed, you will be contacted by Safely to complete an identity verification before your reservation date. (Not applicable for Airbnb stays)

*RENTAL AGREEMENT - We require all guests to digitally sign a rental agreement outlining all house rules once booking is confirmed.

*MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT - Guests must be at least 25 years old to book a Cozy in KC property.

*PARTIES - All gatherings must be limited to 16, this is monitored and guests violating this rule will be charged a mandatory $700 fine. NO EVENTS OR PARTIES ARE ALLOWED.

*PETS - We do not allow pets at this property. There is a $500 fine for any unauthorized pets.

*POND - Please note: there is an unfenced open body of water on the property. Guests are responsible for supervising children and non-swimmers at all times. Use of the pond and kayaks is at your own risk.

*CANCELLATION POLICY - Guests can receive a full refund minus processing fees (approximately 4%) if they cancel up to 5 days before check in. No refund will be provided if cancelling less than 5 days before check in.

*LIABILITY WAIVER - Due to the body of water on the property, guests are required to sign a liability waiver before check-in.
