Beautiful cabin and we loved the privacy. The only thing that would make it more pet friendly would be gates on the back porch. We will definitely be renting again!

It was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway! The cabin is close enough to go do things-West Jefferson, hiking, breweries, etc. but secluded enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. The kitchen is packed with all the cooking necessities so we made all our meals at the cabin. Our dog also enjoyed the big yard and beautiful deck to nap on. 10/10 would stay here again.

I really want to give this place a higher review but this place needs some TLC. The cabin has everything you would need for a peaceful relaxing stay however you first must navigate a small gravel road in pretty good shape with a 5 degree incline, not too bad. Second, you then have to make a 150 degree turn into a steeper gravel driveway of about a 12 degree slop. Finally, there are few spots that have large ruts developing, one right when you first turn in and second right at the very top that would bottom out most cars. There are also spots along the side of the driveway that have reflectors letting you know the road is slowly eroding away and there are several soft spots that need attention. Lucky for us it did not rain during our stay and we had a 4x4 with us, not sure a low profile car could make it up if it rained. As I mention this driveway needs some serious work which caused this! (See picture below). I don’t suggest bringing street motorcycle, or any towed motorcycle trailers to this property. The driveway is not in good enough shape. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions before they book this property.

The cabin itself is lovely, clean, and the furniture (especially the bed in the front bedroom) was comfortable. The road to the cabin is a bit difficult to navigate, and there was nothing in any of the communication from the hosts to warn of the road condition. We went in the middle of October and between the condition and the leaf coverage (expected) the driveway was hard to drive up and feel safe doing so. The home comes with NO supplies except a couple of rolls of toilet paper and very inexpensive paper towels. There were no seasonings, coffee, sugar, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, so you truly have to bring everything with you. I don't normally mind bringing all of that, but again, like the road, it would have been nice to know that in advance as its at least 20 minutes to a store from the house. The pictures of the house show solar lights around the outside deck. Those were not working for us. It was absolutely pitch black outside with no outdoor lighting we could find aside from the porch light on the front stoop. Again, none of this would have been issued if we had been informed in advance so we could have adequately prepared. The reservation details come from a third party other than VRBO, so I had to search my emails to find the details for check in and make payments. Overall, I think the owners need to make it easier to access the reservation and property and communicate what to expect as part of the listing and the check in documentation.

Thank you so much for taking a moment to leave a review. The roadway is a secondary private gravel road but it is in excellent condition as well as the gravel driveway. Yes I can see that it being leaf covered in the fall could cause a bit of questioning. The home is supplied with starter paper towels, bathroom tissue, trash bags, sealed individual shower soaps, hand pump hand wash, dish detergent, laundry detergent and linens. We do not provide shampoo and conditioners as most persons have specific products for their hair. We have checked the solar lighting since your stay and found it to be working as did other guests after your stay. We are available to be reached 8am to 10pm with our phone number for guests. We are very responsive to emails as well. We automatically email guests their check in information and cabin information as well as provide an easy guest app to find all info. We are always here for our guests.
