We had so much fun staying at this house. You definitely need the four-wheel-drive to get to the top. Breathtaking view of the mountains in the morning. Very easy to contact the host back up generator available if it is cloudy so no worries about it being solar powered we had absolutely no problems.

Finding solace in an off-the-grid retreat
Finding solace in an off-the-grid retreat with panoramic mountain views. This 3,500-sq-ft, 3-bed, 2-bath adobe vacation property is perched on a 10-acre hilltop, with unobstructed 360-degree panoramic views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. #peaceful #livinginthemoment #springbreak
We had such a lovely stay! The views are beautiful from every room. The owners were quick to communicate with and very friendly. We look forward to another visit soon!
The property managers were great. Figuring out the solar power was a new one for us but not overly complicated. They’re serious about that need for 4-wheel drive (and adding to the steepness of the road was that it was muddy). We’d love to come back during the summer to enjoy more of the outdoor space but it was perfect for our needs and it’s proximity to the Sipapu ski resort. It made for a great Christmas get-away!

Beautiful scenery but uninviting house
Only 1 bedroom on the main floor. The others are either upstairs or down. Both bathrooms are on the main floor. I would assume that this house was setup as a meditative retreat? There are Hindu statues, a book of “blessings” and moon and star symbols throughout the home as well as a pentagram over the bed upstairs?? The furniture was very uncomfortable and falling apart. The scenery and grounds were beautiful!

Hi Linda, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- The home was designed with sacred geometry elements, originally intended as a healing retreat, which is why you may have noticed specific symbols and statues that contribute to the calming and restorative atmosphere- As seen in the listing photos, the upstairs bedroom features a hexagram, not a pentagram, which is a symbol used to promote positive energy and healing- The statues you mentioned are of Buddhist origin, representing universal themes of healing and spiritual well-being, intended to foster a peaceful environment for all guests- The home, built on the slope of a hill, is designed to harmonize with the surrounding environment at nearly 9,000 feet above sea level. The listing photos accurately reflect the home's design, including the placement of the bedrooms and bathrooms- We routinely check and maintain the furniture to ensure it is comfortable and in good condition, and we will inspect the items you mentioned to make any necessary improvementsWe appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve and help this homeowner provide guests with the 5-star service they are known for. We hope to host you again soon!

Beautiful Home/ Views with Furnishings on thier last leg.
This home is uniquely beautiful with breathtaking views. Property manager very polite and responsive. However property advertises three bed three bath plus Yurt with queen size bed, Only 2 baths are on the main level no access to a 3rd bath. My stepmother fell coming downstairs at night to use the bathroom& injured her shoulder and hip. The mattresses are horribly ubcomfortable and all furniture including couch in main sitting room needs to be replaced. The kitchen is beautiful and top notch. Internet was easy to access. Do not attempt to take a shower in each bathroom at the same time no water pressure at all. One person at a time is a great shower. Hot tub icecold and only can be used if 85%solar capacity. We think this can be a wonderful property And would only stay again if they upgraded all mattresses and furniture plus have access to a bathroom on top level since that's where the bedroom is. We did find a few little things that were not checked or cleaned but they were minor

Sandra, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you.
- Thank you for mentioning the uniqueness of the home and its breathtaking beauty, we're sorry that you expected something that we do not offer
- This property is very specific and we have confirmed with Evolve that all sites are correct - we do not offer a yurt! We have not had one since we purchased it and do not intend to add one to the location. **All potential guests, please read Evolve's description of the property it is very precise and you will know what you are getting when you arrive at our beautiful home.
- We have not had any issues with the water pressure and have not had anyone complain about this, but we will look into it.
- We 100% solar-powered home and there are instructions for hot tub use in the welcome book, if you push the green button within 30 minutes the hot tub will be ready for use.
- While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the mattress didn't meet your preferences. The furniture in the home is in very good shape and it is very comfortable, if you were unhappy we wish you had contacted us to let us know. We have not had anyone complain about the mattresses or furniture.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays! We will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we are known for.
Beautiful home and perfect location! The pictures just don’t do this home justice. The beauty of the home paired with the scenery made this home a perfect retreat for rest and rejuvenation.
Sara was very timely in her responsiveness to any of my questions, as well as making sure we were happy in our stay.
We hope to return again soon.
Our stay was very enjoyable. The home certainly accommodates many people and has spectacular views. The house is run on solar panels which takes some getting used to. It is recommended to do most of your device charging during the day when the sun is out. It has a large kitchen, a lot of windows but it is well insulated.
We had a wonderful time at Hawk Hill! Sara was always available to answer our questions. The property was even better than we expected from the gorgeous photos! They have a hiking trail marked with red ribbons that gave breathtaking views. The hot tub was relaxing. We never lost power- despite it being rainy most of the weekend. We would love to come again.

Beautiful home, but solar powered with very limited electric usage!
Property was gorgeous!! Super clean and very spacious. We had problems with the electricity though.
When we called to setup our meet time with the home owner, she stated that we could not use a hair dryer or bring a microwave because the house was solar powered and the system couldn’t support those items.
We lost power the first night around 7pm and had only been at the house a few hours. There was NO power when we woke up in the mornings, but the electric would come on around 9am. When we tried to contact the homeowner, she didn’t respond to our text or calls. We lost power the following two nights around 6pm, even though we were being very careful with our electric usage. By this point we were getting feed up and called the booking company to complain.
Home Away checked the listing for a solar powered statement and found none. They contacted the home owner and then the home owner called us. She said she was unaware that we were having issues and would send someone to check it out within 20 minutes. No one came to the property, but the electric came back on.
We stayed for two more nights and for the remainder of our stay, we had no more issues with electricity shutting off.

Tammy, thanks for your review. We've passed your feedback along to the homeowner who has asked us to share the following information:
- The owner walks all guests through the home upon arrival to provide detailed instructions and answer any questions about the property. The generator usually turns on automatically, but if it does not, all guests need to do is call the owner who can be there within 3 minutes to turn it on manually, as is mentioned in the walk-through.
- This has not been an issue in the past, and the owner wants all guests to know that they are only a phone call away if any issues do arise. Her home phone number is provided upon check-in and posted next to the house phone.
- Once you reached out to us here at Evolve and we notified the owner, they immediately sent someone out to the home and turned the generator on for you. This is why the power was quickly restored and there were no further problems during your stay.
Thanks again for your feedback. We hope to host you again in the future!

Plenty of room for 12 people.
Beautiful views. Kitchen is fully stocked but no microwave oven. The house is solar powered so you have to be mindful of power usage. The wifi worked for 12 devices at once which was great since there is no TV. The owner was helpful and met us to orient us to the property. A great New Mexico experience and would stay again.

hot tube, music and beautiful views
the property was amazingly beautiful with the scenery and all the windows to take in the sun in the sun room was nice and relaxing, the upstairs nook and the fireplace by the window made it a perfect down time to spend with my family. The property had all the amenities like, stove, laundry and of course the hot tub that made the stay even more enjoyable and suitable for my family. If you like to get away with no TV or electronic, except for the audio system through the house which was a bonus.then this is the place to get away and just relax. I enjoyed going for a few hours to Taos and seeing the bridge.
