The quintessential American log cabin experience. Beyond grateful we found this property - genuine hosts, gorgeous surrounds and tranquility beyond measure. Do yourself a favour and book this for a minimum 2 nights.

Loved our stay at this hunters cabin! We went to just get away from the city and noise and this cabin ended up being very peaceful and quiet. Great location for star watching. Cabin is very cozy. Only thing that "concerned" us was no wall below the stair case rail and that only cause we have dumb dogs that were trying to bail off the stairs before they get even close to the bottom/ top. Haha

If coming from the town of Carey, it’s about 14 miles on a dirt road and limited to no cell service. The gps coordinates stop short so keep going until you see houses on the left. It’s the 3rd house. Nice and quiet, clean and watching the beef cows grazing is quite relaxing.

The property is located approximately 14 miles out a dirt road. The property is not marked to be easily found. It probably is nice but I never found it. Luckily other overnight accomodations were still available in nearbv towns.

This cabin was built in the late 1800s from hand-hewn logs and then moved (five miles down the road) from the mining town of Muldoon, Idaho to its current location in 1911 when the mine shut down. There is no cellular or wifi coverage, so make sure you communicate with the host early so they have plenty of time to see your message. They are super accommodating. Some folks mentioned they had issues finding the cabin. We did not. Just do all of your mapping and planning well before you start your trip. Apple Maps took us right to it. The cabin is literally right off of the main road, and clearly has the address on the porch, so you can't miss it. It is out in the middle of nowhere, so if seclusion is your jam, this is the right place. There are plenty of books in the cabin, as well as a mild assortment of good movies (DVDs and VHS). The tranquility, views, setting were all amazing. The house is cozy and conveniently furnished. Come prepared to unplug, or bring your portable Starlink if you must. We will definitely stay here again.

You can't put a price on peace and quiet on the 4th of July. The hosts are so kind and welcoming, and the environs are made for complete relaxation.
