Thank you for the kind review! I do agree that this house has the most beautiful windows. They were done by the former owners , when the house was repaired around 1990. Most guests do love all the quirky, eclectic decor. It makes for some interesting conversations ! Please come again and thank you! Dorothy

Big, unique, affordable, cute, and close to caves
The house was AMAZING! So unique and we got historical information from the owner. I sort of expected the house to be in the country, but it is located in a run down part of town. BUT the rest of the town is cute and quaint. Historical and has a great coffee shop! The owner is planning on purchasing surrounding property to clean up that side of town. Loved how affordable it was and how close to the caves and the corvette museum it was! We would stay again! :)

From the owner: "Thank you for being our guest! Our house is located in one of the oldest parts of town, the railroad Depo area. This area is slowly being cleaned up and getting a facelift! Our home is about the only house to survive and we agree that it’s unique. Thanks for appreciating it!"
If you have allergies you may want to reconsider staying here. The mustiness due to the age of the home and maintenance/cleanliness level made it difficult for me to breath.

From the owner: "I regret that you did not enjoy your stay at this 1890 Historical Home. I’m not sure how to respond to the allergies you have and the correlation to your stay at the house. This home has been completely remodeled inside in the last 25 years. New wiring, plumbing, sheetrock, and is painted on a regular basis as needed. The floors are mostly original so maybe wood floors could lend a different scent. The house rents really regularly so air conditioning removes excess moisture. I’ve just not had anyone stay and direct their allergy symptoms to the house. We clean this 3000 plus square feet house extensively each time.
I came to help you connect to wi-fi , show you where all towels were, and spoke to you multiple times but did not know of your dissatisfaction.
I will do all I can to make my guests stay as good as possible. An 1890 home is unique as is a new build and some people appreciate the uniqueness and others may need to choose newer homes to meet their needs.
Once again, I am sorry your experience was not as expected.
Sincerely, Dorothy"
Very Loud neighbors who fought constantly. Constant screaming and yelling.

It was like walking into the old houses of my childhood! The beds were comfortable, but the king bedroom door neither latched nor locked.

Hi Jimmy, the homeowner would like to share the following: "Thank you so much for choosing our house to stay! We hope it was everything you needed!"
As another reviewer noted, this is the "mystery house" and that is part of the joy of being in this house. We had three families (college friends) gather in Russellville to see Mammoth Cave, and we enjoyed our "time at home" at the Garden House. There are lots of places to hang out, lots of room inside and out for the kids to enjoy themselves. The neighborhood is quiet, having only a few real neighbors and a number of daytime businesses which are more than a stone's throw away.
The owner was very receptive to questions and feedback. We had no problems with the house, but the owner was more than willing to have a pleasant conversation on the phone to answer a few questions which we could not answer from the provided rental material.
The house was quite clean and everything was tidy. We had 11 people in our group and while we had to make some seating adjustments to get us all together at the dinner table, it was not a problem, and we had plenty of dishes, flatware, and glasses to go around.
Words cannot describe how beautiful this house is. Quiet neighborhood and the owner quickly answered any questions or concerns we had. 10/10 would recommend. The stained glass is amazing!
Very unique. Enjoyed all the wonderful furnishings.. Had a great time

Great Space!
The house was so spacious and had everything we needed to relax after days at the ball field. 3 families (total of 10) stayed and had plenty of extra room, we loved all the sitting areas and our girls loved having the up stairs to themselves. Dorthy is sweet as can be and kept us informed and made sure we had everything we needed.
If our daughters have another tournament in Bowling Green we will definitely be back!

Very cute house. Perfect for staying in Russellville!
My family of six stayed in this very cute house for four nights recently. This house is very unique, but in a good way! The owner was very responsive and helped answer some basic questions we had during our stay. If you're going to visit Russellville with a family or larger group, I would definitely recommend this property.

Really Interesting House
This was perfect for our little family get-together. There were plenty of bedrooms for everyone to have their own space, and everyone really enjoyed the beautiful stained glass and interesting room layout. There is no internet, which I didn't think to check before booking, but it just meant we spent more time with each other instead of keeping our noses in our phones, so it was all for the better!

House is light & colorful with plenty of parking
We enjoyed having family from around the country meet in a central spot to enjoy Thanksgiving. We spent every night playing games, cooking and eating with family. The light through the many stained glass windows was so vibrant. Everything we needed seemed to be provided. We loved everything from the tinkle of the front door bell to the fireplace in the bedroom!
