About this property

Charming Colonial house with the comforts of a modern home.

This Luxury Colonial Style house has 3 bedrooms (one downstairs, two upstairs), 2 full baths, kitchen and a family room with a pool table. Flat screen TVs in each room. The kitchen is fully equipped. The terrace has a lovely view of the volcanoes and surrounding mountains. There is a laundry room (The House keeper will do the laundry) and Wi-fi High speed Internet access and a secure safe deposit box for important papers.
Fifteen minutes walking distance to central park. Ten Minutes to the Market. Inside a secured gated community. A housekeeper who will clean the house and do your laundry.
Bottled water is provided and replenished so you don´t have to buy it.
We can provide Airport pickup and return (You pay around $60 each way). Upon arrival we provide a welcome basket with fruit, coffee, bread, bottled water, etc. good for a day or two.

such a wonderful spacious home in a quiet close in and secure neighborhood. Rene and staff were so incredibly helpful and responsive to every need. I hope to stay in Rene’s casa bonita again soon!

Antigua

Quiet , tranquil location but close to restaurants , shops and local attractions. Rene the host has clean spacious rental and he is very attentive . Providing suggestions on places to eat , activities and his restaurant offers live music which I highly recommend. Definitely would recommend and intend to return in the future.

Antigua vacation

This was a beautiful, clean, safe, and quiet home in a gated neighborhood in Antigua. It was about a 10 minute walk from the central city, so it was quiet but still within walking distance or a $3-5 Uber for everything we wanted to do in Antigua. Highly recommend this place!

Magical stay in Antigua.

The house is wonderful. It is beautiful and comfortable. You have everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The host is very nice and helpful. The maid is also very kind and helpful. The neighborhood is within walking distance to most attractions. We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating New Years in Antigua while staying here.

Amazing

This was truly an amazing house! It was beautiful, enclosed and safe, a little area outside for kids to run around, and very solid kitchen, very spacious, living area, and bedroom, and a cool small roof area, which definitely requires caution with kids. Rene was very friendly and communicative, and I just couldn’t have been more amazed with this place.

Beautiful place!!

We had a wonderful few days in this casa!! We were greeted by the owner at the door. They stocked the refridgerator with beverages and some snacks for us - very thoughtful after a long day of travel! The home provided everything we needed. In a private, gated community, with wonderful amenities. We enjoyed the rooftop views, the pool table and the warm decor. Very tastefully decorated - beautiful woodwork throughout. Vilma the housekeeper assisted with our laundry and anything else we needed. Highly recommend this place!

Most Amazing VRBO Property We Have Had

This house is the most amazing VRBO house we have ever stayed in. The host Rene is amazing. He was extremely communicative, he allowed us to check in early and it was very thorough in showing us around his amazing house. Rene had a platter of fresh local fruit and detailed instructions about the property and area when we arrived. Renee was extremely attentive and checked on us several times to make sure we were satisfied. At the end of our stay, Renee arranged for Driver to get us back to Guatemala City airport. I will always try to stay at this property when I return to Antigua.

A Must Stay

If you are visiting Antigua, we highly recommend booking this amazing place. Rene was a great host and his housekeeper Vilma was awesome. We stayed here for a week, while my husband and I connected with his family. The house is beautiful and had plenty of space for us and our guests. We especially loved the rooftop deck, where we were able to get some amazing shots of Vulcan de Fuego erupting in the mornings. Being a gated community, we felt very safe. We were also within a short walking distance to markets and the bus terminal. In the evenings, we enjoyed a few rounds of billiards in the upstairs loft. We really enjoyed our trip to Antigua and appreciated having such an amazing place to retreat to at night. Again, we highly recommend staying here when visiting Antigua.

I'll Book For A Month Next Trip

The only negative is that I did not book Rene's casa for at least a month of our winter sojourn in Antigua? The Casa is located off of Callejon del Burrito near the end of the quiet cul-de-sac Interjal. It is a ten minute walk to the Mercado Bodegona and another 5 minutes to the Plaza Central. The Casa is very comfortable and well appointed: three commodious bedrooms, two baths: the shared one on second floor is huge! Both have easy step-in showers. The living area with kitchen separate is roomy with dining area that easily seats 5, stools at counter facing kitchen for 3 more. TV in each bedroom; sound system in game room with regulation pool table. There is an interior courtyard adjacent with seating for two in a quiet plant adorned environment. The English speaking owner Rene lives adjacent and is the owner of the excellent Las Palmas restaurant here in Antigua. The Spanish speaking maid Vilma is most pleasant. The friendly German Shepherd JD is a bonus and a true amigo de mascota. Rene's driver Santiago can arrange for all your transportation needs in Guatemala. Do use his airport pick-up service!

Amazing Home in Antigua!

We stayed in this home for two weeks and was able to enjoy holy week with the family at this location. The home is truly ideal; it is located in a calm and quiet area, great views of the volcano from the living room windows, and it is filled with color and details. Rene, Vilma and Santiago provided great service and were all very helpful. Rene lives near the home but you won't even know he is there because everything is very private. We are a native Guatemalan family but hadn't been back in about 10 years and it was great to see how well the country is doing. Antigua itself is full of beautiful places to visit and great restaurants and the people are very friendly. It has just been a month and trust me we already want to be back because we miss it very much... If you rent this home you will be extremely satisfied and don't miss the home made helados they sell near the home. It's a welcoming older lady that makes them but they are so delicious. When you exit the main entrance go to your right and walk to the corner and make another right and you will see this home to your left. It is a black door that states they sell home made helados. They are too die for... you must try! Thanks again Rene and hopefully we will see you next year!

Beautiful, immaculate, fully equipped authentic Antiguan home rich in character and wonderful host!

Rene was a stellar host who responded promptly and clearly to all inquiries and went above and beyond by driving us to a restaurant the evening we arrived as the traffic delayed our arrival until 9PM. Throughout our stay Rene ensured that any questions we had about the local area were thoughtfully answered. From the moment we arrived, we felt as though we were in a safe, authentic, upscale community embedded in a larger working class neighborhood. Loved the fact that despite being tourists, we did not feel like tourists and were able enjoy the local way of life - transportation, markets, little shops and the like. We were so pleased with "our" value-laden home. Rene has equipped his home with EVERYTHING you might need: ceiling fans everywhere, floor fans everywhere, beautiful welcome fruit basket and biscotti, extra pillows, soap, toothpaste, extra water bottles, beautiful Mayan decor, fully-equipped kitchen, ample towels, loads of light switches, ample closet space and hangers, beautiful landscaping, a pool table, wonderful jazz music, and so much more. Stepping into this home is like being welcomed into a friend's charming and detail-oriented home. Enjoyed a lovely long chat with Vilma, the housekeeper, who maintains an IMMACULATE house. The house is part of a small, charming neighborhood of traditional-style homes set behind a secure gate. Thanks to the many windows and skylights the house is bright throughout the day. Am running out of space. Fantastic!! Will be back!

One of the best properties I’ve stayed at!

Rene is as good of a host as you can have. He will make every effort to take care of you . His house is fabulous! Extremely quiet and secure location. 10 minute walk to a modern shopping center and in the other direction it’s an easy walk to the main square. On site house keeper who is always there to help. I can’t recommend this listing high enough. Thank you Rene. I hope I can stay here again.

Beautiful home and property, with an optimal location, only a 20 minute walk to busy downtown area, but far away for a quite and peaceful sleep. Vilma is GREAT, she helped us with a few things. Beautiful terrace ciew, highly recommend this property.

Beautiful property

Rene was absolutely the best host during our short stay. Unfortunately, we weren't able to complete the length of our stay due to a medical emergency that prompted us to leave sooner than planned but Rene was not only understanding and supportive but also made it a point to reach out after we left to ensure my daughter was doing ok. The medical emergency had nothing to do with the property or an accident. We will return once again in our future and look to once again stay in this beautiful home. Every inch of this home is gorgous. Thank you again!

Perfect Vacation!

As soon as we arrived in Antigua, Rene was there to greet us; he gave us a small tour of the house, all the information needed, and his info about who he was. He was very friendly and pleasant. The house was in neat condition and very cozy; it was precisely the description written on the internet; our idea for this vacation was only to relax and forget our daily routines, and the house was perfect for our purpose. We also discovered that Rene owned a very nice establishment where he provided transportation. We decided to go, and ultimately ended up feeling full of energy and younger, so we ended up dancing salsa after many years of not dancing. We had a wonderful vacation that ended up being too short. Would recommend staying here a million times over.

Great location, quiet area, short walk to central Antigua!

Grateful to Señor René, Señora Vilma, Señor Santiago, and Erwin for making my first visit to Guatemala a true success! My friend and I felt safe and truly cared for throughout our stay. Transportation to/from GUA was a breeze, and when we had questions regarding tours we were connected with a driver and tour guide all within reasonable price. The welcome fruit basket was a nice touch, as well as the personal tour of the beautiful property. Would stay here again! Thank you!

Great stay

Rene (the owner) was extremely nice & easy to communicate with. The property is a beautiful, Spanish colonial style home, situated in a safe neighborhood. Very peaceful, picturesque surroundings. Quick & cheap Uber access made it easy to get to all of Antigua. Highly recommend.

I obtained my BS from University of Florida and worked for IBM, Marriott and PWC during my 25 year career. I am retired, have become a musician, love nature and the simple things in life.

Why they chose this property

Built two houses, I live in the one behind and rent the other. Very comfortable and secure. Just 15 mins walk from central park and 10mins. to the shops and supermarket.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful wood work, skylights and unique design. Lots of plants and well decorated. Everything in the house is of the highest quality.
