I'm artist & designer, surfer, rock-climber, mountain-biker, skier, tennis player, barefoot skier, windsurfer, skateboarder, yoga teacher and I have done many other sports. I have traveled around the world, did the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in 1986 in Hawaii, raced the first Mountain Bike World Cups in Kaprun and Kitzbühl, Austria in 1987/88 and played professional tennis. Mammoth and the Eastern Sierras is the most amazing playground and a hard to top location for outdoor activities and an incredible inspiring place for artists. I'm excited to make my place available to travelers coming to visit "Gods Country". I live nearby down valley in Bishop with my wife and daughter and I'm happy to give you the local scoop on backcountry skiing, rock-climbing and trail running anytime. Please asked! I also own the Sierra Abstract Gallery in Mammoth, a small space next to the Black Velvet Coffee Shop in the Luxury Outlet Mall where I display some of my latest works(my studio is in Bishop). As I know time can be scarce for most guests I would be delighted to give you a showing of my paintings. We love our condo at the Monache and I hope you will too(my daughter loves the pool and the hot tub). As our property is privately owned we do manage it professional according to the highest standards in the industry. Please let me know if there is every anything that wasn't perfect or could be improved( I will fix it or pass it on to the hotel manager). I believe perfection is not an absolute but always a work in progress.

Cosy and luxurious retreat in the snow
We stayed for a brief ski holiday in peak season early in the New Year. This condo is in a very convenient position right across the road from the gondola up to Canyon Lodge ski fields, and in the heart of the village where there are plenty of cafes, restaurants and useful shops. The condo is very comfortable for two people and attractively decorated. The kitchenette is very well equipped and the bathroom spacious, with plenty of towels and a good hairdryer. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens/ pillows good quality. We really enjoyed the couches and gas fireplace, and the handy window seat. TV/ heating worked well. Altogether the condo was very clean, comfortable and well appointed, and quiet as well which was impressive considering all the families staying in the resort at that time. The owners provided useful and timely information for us. The condo is right across the hall from a very well set up gym and the door out to the hot tubs and pool, which is very convenient. As it was peak holiday time, and the condo is private, we found that we did not have access to some of the resort facilities such as the shuttle bus around town and the lockers for storing ski gear under the gondola. This might be different if staying at a quieter time of the year. It was great to have a guest laundry available. The restaurant at the resort is highly recommended but we couldn't get a booking - there are a plenty of great places to eat in Mammoth but we found booking was essential for everything, even getting taxis to and from the airport. We really enjoyed our stay and found the condo suited our needs very well. We would highly recommend it.
Very nice! Location and room were outstanding
Great trip and stay. Everything was exactly as advertised. Would definitely do it again.
2nd time staying.
Location puts you right at the village. Very clean property. Also very easy communication with the host to make your vacation stress free.
The unit was in great condition and clean, which are two important points for us. Alex and Rachael were responsive when we needed assistance. The location in the Westin is great with kids - close to pool.
Hope to stay with Alex again in the future!
Location location location!
Fantastic place to stay. Steps from everything. Property management was very easy to work with. Would recommend this property to anyone
Wonderful property and comfortable room.
Location was great for ski in ski out. The room was nice with small kitchenette. Some ideas for the future would be some robes in the closet and a location of where to dispose our recycling. Rachel was easy to communicate with and the access code to get into the room was great so you didn’t have to bother with a key. We will be back for sure. Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words and your suggestions. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you soon again. Regarding recycling trash we have a recycling bin under the sink in the room, the hotel only has a trash shoot which was giving in your check out reminder list. We understand day of check out can be a little hectic so maybe it was over seen? and sorry about the robe we have limited space in our linen/storage closet thats why we don't provide them. Thanks again for stay with us.
Mammoth Lakes, California, United States not only offers the longest ski seasons in the United States(in 2017 it was 270 days) days of skiing, lifts closed first week of August) but also some of the most accessible and spectacular backcountry skiing. Terrain parks and half pipes are home to gold medalist snowboarder Shaun White (flying tomato). But summertime are just as much fun. Mammoth Lakes is surround by hundreds of lakes in the high country: rock-climbing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, dirt biking and mountain-biking. At this time a year it can be hard to choose what to do first. Deluxe Studio Condo #234 at the Monache is quietly located a tad away and up and above from the bustle and lively scenes and festive activities of the "Village" yet literally just down the stairs from it are the shops, restaurants, gondola, shuttles and trolleys. It's really the perfect place and location! It's quiet and at the center of it all.
