Slice of South Dakota paradise!

Set on the north end of Pickerel Lake in the beautiful rolling prairie of northeastern South Dakota, this 2 BR/1 BA cottage is the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself! Sleeps 3-4. Deck, spacious lawn on large lot, excellent fishing off the dock, swimming. Wi-fi, washer-dryer, grill, fire pit.

Long-term rentals preferred; 1-week minimum.

One mile from State Park with boat access. NO BOAT TIE-UPS at DOCK. Boat parking in lot behind cabin.

IMPORTANT: Tell us a little about yourself and your plans in your booking request. If you are planning to bring a boat, acknowledge that you understand you cannot tie your boat at the dock in your rental request. VRBO requires a booking to initiate communication between renter and owner.

All lights off, windows closed and locked, blinds drawn, heat off (if used).
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
No boats may be tied at the dock overnight.

Deb was fantastic! She went out of her way to accommodate my dates and made this last minute trip possible. The cottage was amazing! Being back on Pickerel Lake hit me with so much childhood nostalgia. By day two, if you had asked me what my actual job was, I would have confidently answered, "Professional floating apparatus tester."The place was flawlessly stocked, with exactly one hilarious, self-inflicted exception. Day one: we strut out to the patio, meat in hand, ready to fire up the grill like the outdoor culinary masters we think we are. Surprise! it’s a charcoal grill. Not propane. And guess what doesn't spontaneously generate inside a charcoal grill? Charcoal. This did give me an excuse to start my expedition to the Waubay Dollar General to go shopping. Honestly, it was no big deal and gave us a fantastic laugh to kick off the trip.After that, I became a captive short-order cook, cranking out three full meals a day for seven days straight. With the exception of Tuesday, the Lodge had Indian Tacos! To die for!!!My grueling daily schedule went exactly like this: Cook. Bob in the lake on a floatation device. Eat. Nap. Cook again. Repeat.Somehow, between eating continuously and doing absolutely nothing but bobbing in the water, I actually lost weight. It’s a medical mystery and a vacation miracle!If you need a perfectly equipped, stress-free retreat with a comfy bed and a fantastic host, look no further. Thank you, Deb!
