Last minute overnight stay to visit extended family brought us to this charming farmhouse. The layout is very unique, but expected since it is a restored farmhouse. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed. Only downside with 5 people is there is one bathroom. It would be super cute if at some point the owner built an "outhouse" style building nearby (so as to not disturb the original structure) with a 2nd toilet and sink. Would definitely rent again.
The property is beautiful. Perfect getaway for our 16 month old and 2 dogs. Lots of open space and fresh air. The house has been well restored, maintaining it's charm while still providing modern amenities. Host was very responsive and kind.
The Hager Hideaway was the perfect getaway for me and my partner for a long weekend. We visited a few historic sites in the area and the farm was the perfect distance between all of them. The house is irresistibly charming and we felt spoiled all weekend with modern conveniences in a historic setting. We enjoyed the large porch and the peacefulness of the property. Looking forward to visiting again!
The Hager Hideaway is in the middle of everything and is a quiet, restorative oasis on its own. The 1830's farmhouse is absolutely charming and very cozy. We could have spent the entire weekend exploring Harrodsburg, but Bardstown is only an hour away via scenic back roads (less if via the Bluegrass Parkway), so we HAD to spend a day there. If you want to hop on the bourbon trail from a central location, this is it!The basics (for us):Hot Water - CheckCentral Location - CheckSecluded/Private - CheckPiece of History - CheckPets Allowed - CheckPerfect for the Two of Us, yet Room for More - CheckResponsive Host - CheckWe would definitely stay here again - there is SO MUCH more to see and do!
