This is a beach home with CHARM! HOT TUB open all year! The pool is open when the temperature is 75+. Ideal location, centrally located on a very thin strip of the island for awesome views and a quick walk to the beach or the sound. (4) Bedrooms, (1) with an ensuite, (3) bathrooms, a game room w/sink & futon, open kitchen & living area on top floor, carport with outdoor shower & fish cleaning room, pool & hot tub with shower for rinsing. Sunsets, star filled nights, convenience to activity's and restaurants/pubs. Dine at home by utilizing the outdoor grill or the 3rd floor fully equipped kitchen.
Grocery store is 12 minutes down the road. Convenient store is a 5 minute walk. Utilize the lift so there is no need to lug groceries up the stairs. It is an 8 minute walk to the Ocean (beach cart provided), and a 5 minute walk to the Sound! An in ground private salt water pool with it's own pool shower and a hot tub is enjoyable. The pool has under water seating . Three stories of awesome! One open balcony with a table and comfortable seating and one screened balcony with table and seating. This home is super clean and well maintained. An outdoor lift will be perfect for your groceries and luggage. The cargo lift stops at each floor which you control with a remote. The top floor vaulted ceiling, light and airy home welcomes those who enjoy open spaces, clean quarters - yes, you can actually see out of these salt free windows, too! The outdoor shower & dressing room is large and private. There is nothing like taking an outdoor shower. Many supplies are ready for you. Love to fish? Wait till you see the fish cleaning room in the carport. It is screened, provides hot & cold water, electric, and a large bench. Close to the fish cleaning station is a picnic table and charcoal grill. The amenities are geared for those who enjoy the outdoors as well as the comfort of the indoors. Don't rent your equipment. A paddle board, kayaks, corn hole, and boogie boards are provided. Some beach chairs provided but there is a Wing store close by for an extra's if needed. You will enjoy the extra care put into this beach home. This is not just your basic beach house rental. U Found Dory has all the extras, just like a real home. The pictures on this site are accurate and up to date.
No other beach home is supplied like this one. Basic kitchen foods, flour, sugar, spices and so much more. Each guest adds to the pantry which is way cool! Grab a beer out of the frig in the game room. Forgot bug spray? It is probably provided.

Beautiful!

House was beautiful and very clean! It was refreshing to see that after our previous rentals thru some of the island rental agencies. Lots of extras were provided that weren't in the listing! Our group loved the pool and hot tub-again, both were so clean and well maintained. House is situated in a great area--not too far from groceries, restaurants, shopping!

Great location and house

House has everything we needed and the location was great if we needed to get anything. Quick walk to the beach or to just lounge in the pool. Connie was very responsive and great to rent from.

Great family time

We had a great time. We were a little disappointed the vegetable garden that was in the remarks was not available. The walk on the sand dunes to the beach was a little cumbersome for us and the sand was hot. But I know that can’t really be changed. I would live to see some of the stuff left at the home to use for the beach to be updated a little. We found broken and unusable items. We’d definitely stay again though and the host was extremely easy to work with.

Great house! A few things need attention….

The house is spacious, clean and well appointed. It’s one of the nicest and most comfortable we have rented. We had everything we needed inside and loved the layout of the house and the upper deck. The elevator was great for arrival day! We also loved the pool and hot tub. With young children (10, 7, 4) the pool was great when we were not at the beach. My only complaint is that the recreational and beach equipment is in really poor shape. There was only one rusty beach chair (for 7 people), the three boogie boards were all broken, the clip-on beach umbrellas were rusted and broken, the bikes all had flat tires and rusty chains (the tire pump was ancient and didn’t work), there was only one set of wheels for the three kayaks so no way to transport them to the Sound down a very long block to the access point. Additionally, there is no raised organic garden, just overgrown weeds. There is no corn hole game. There was a broken water basketball floating hoop, no ball. In fairness, the owner reimbursed me for the purchase of three beach chairs and ordered a bike pump that was delivered midweek. The whole carport area and fish cleaning area could use a good clean out. There is a lot of useless stuff in a general state of disrepair. We managed with what was there, but it was disappointing, considering the glowing descriptions and photos.

Anniversary getaway

Although the weather wasnt necessarily in our favor, we had a great time. This house was perfect for our first visit to the Outer Banks. It had everything we needed.

I grew up in Copley, Ohio and moved to North Carolina 20 years ago. I am married to my best friend of many, many years. We are a combined family which consists of 2 sets of identical twins & 3 sons. We have 12 grandchildren. :-)

Why they chose this property

This is our home away from home. I love the location because I enjoy everything about the water. An 8 minute walk to the left is the OCEAN/BEACH and a 5 minute walk to the right is the SOUND. Guests can enjoy paddle boarding, surfing, boogie boarding, and kayaking. I supply all of these toys. We looked at so many homes but when we pulled into the driveway of this home we knew this was the one. This home is in great shape. We maintain it like a new home. We added the pool the first 6 months, lowered the hot tub from the top balcony to the pool area, enclosed most of the carport, added outdoor cameras for guest security, and recently installed a lift. We love how we are centrally located from the North & South of the island. Locally we have some awesome restaurants on the water. Thirty five minutes North we have major shopping including the Outlets & 5 minutes to the new H2 0BX Water Sports Park. We are 5 minutes from laser, bowling, etc. Twelve minutes South we have more restaurants and a marina for traveling to other islands. You can also visit and experience the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Hop on the ferry and take a day run to Ocracoke and you can be back for the picturesque sunset. Within minutes we have restaurants, pubs, live music, karaoke, equipment rentals, jet skis, the ocean/waves, and the Sound for more shallow and calm waters to be enjoyed by all ages. Salvo also has the Salvo Day Use Park which is 5 minutes from us. It has sandy beaches, picnic tables, and warm, calm, shallow waters for the little ones. Yes, we have the perfect location!

What makes this property unique

Our saltwater pool caters to those who have sensitive skin. The saltwater is so soothing. It also has underwater seating areas.
You will be able to enjoy how well this home is maintained. Most homes do not have color in the yard. This one does. We actually have a lawn which is nice for playing corn hole or enjoying a cookout in the picnic area. Enjoy the flowers not only in the pool area but in the yard. The view from the top balcony at night is perfect for enjoying the ocean breeze and the thousands of stars. A telescope is furnished. Our flower garden has a replica lighthouse with a functional rotating light which is pretty at night. Lots of these special extras!
