Israel was very gracious and kind. The cabin is clean, spacious, comfortable, and private. A nice place to stay to enable us to hike, to drive to Collinsville, Ft Payne, and to eat at Woody's in Dogtown.
We had a great time at the cozy cabin at Little River Canyon. Everything was very clean, and it had everything we needed. Also, the location was great for what we wanted to see, near Little River Canyon National Preserve, Desoto State Park, and Cherokee Rock village.
We really enjoyed staying at the Refuge. Very quiet and beautiful scenery. Close to Desoto State Park and Little River Canyon. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return one day.
We enjoyed peace and quiet in this home. You feel secluded when you're in the cabin but close drive to things to do. We had a visit each evening from a bunny in the back yard. The cabin was clean and well stocked. We did have some minor issues with the TV, but the owner took care of it without us even asking This place might be especially good if you like adventure sports such as rock climbing. The owner has a place close by that you can book active adventures. This place has something for everyone.
This cabin provided the perfect escape from urban life and everyday stress. The location in Little Canyon, Alabama, is truly exceptional, nestled amid the stunning beauty of Lookout Mountain and the Little River Canyon National Preserve. The silence here is profound—far quieter than anything I've experienced in the city—and I quickly grew to love the peaceful stillness that allowed me to truly unwind. The home itself is wonderful, with a natural, rustic charm that perfectly complements the mountainous surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the cozy interior felt welcoming and thoughtfully designed for relaxation. We enjoyed the beautiful wooded views from every window, and the fresh mountain air was invigorating. The cabin blended seamlessly with its environment, using natural materials that enhanced the authentic "mountainside" feel. Hiking trails, breathtaking overlooks, and cascading waterfalls are just a short drive away, making it easy to explore the area's natural wonders. Evenings on the deck were magical, listening to the sounds of nature as the stars came out brilliantly overhead. The kitchen was well-equipped, and everything we needed to stay comfortable was provided. It a perfect getaway for couples or families. I look forward to returning again one day.
We rented the property over the Christmas holiday, and we couldn't have been happier with it! The cabin is lovely and cozy, with everything you need for a relaxing vacation, and the scenery is gorgeous. There are two overlooks an easy walk away that show the valley, and staying in the cabin felt like living in a tree house. It was warm, welcoming, and exactly what we needed! Will definitely rent again.

The house was in good condition and all the amenities were as described. The location is private. We had no issues with anything while we were there.

Got a report from the cleaning staff that yall left the place very neat.
Thank you very much for that, not so normal for people to clean up after themselves as you did.
Please come see us again
Property well kept, The area where the beautiful home is located, please be prepared to climb mountains after mountains so hopefully your in a vehicle thats able to make it up these high mountains, there's no turning around in the middle of the road or you just might fall over a cliff.. At night please have someone with you at all times because finding your way back is a hell of an adventure in the pitch black Dark.... Good Luck!!!

Thank you for staying with us, we are sorry that you rated this cabin in the mountains that you dreamed so beautiful and clean to only be two stars because it is in the mountains. It is inside the National Park and does not have street lights in National Parks because it hinders the wildlife and the draw to the parks. People leave the city life to see the mountains, they do not want to see the mountains become the city life. But we thank you for your visit and hope you had a good time anyway and would love to see you again.

Outstanding place and location!
What a great place! Highly recommend. We rented this cabin to enjoy some family time with our daughter, son and our daughter-in-law. Never been in the area before but what a great surprise! The cabin was clean, fully stocked and definitely warm and cozy with modern appliances and very comfortable beds. The area is beautiful with waterfalls everywhere and incredible views around every corner. The cabin is located on a road rarely traveled, adding to the peacefulness of the stay. Israel, the owner, was great in answering our questions, treated us like VIP's and enjoyed filling us in on the area and things to see and do. A highlight was learning more about True Adventure Sports and all they offer in the area too. With insight from them we got to see kayakers shooting the waterfalls and climbers rappelling cliffs. Overall, a great trip, thanks to the location, cabin, owner and time as a family!

You were an amazing group and we not only enjoyed having you stay but enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you.
Be blessed in this new year in Jesus Name
Our family enjoyed spending time at The Refuge over the Thanksgiving holiday. The location was great, away from town. The house was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. We hope to return again in the future.
The only negative I could possibly give is the bottom step is too high. Other than that everything about this place was awesome!!! Thank you again for coming out and looking around that first night when we heard voices on the deck!!!
Had a great time at The Refuge! Secluded, clean, spacious and as described in the listing. Would definitely reccomend to someone coming to the Little River Canyon area!
The cabin was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space to relax. Convenient to trails.

Beautiful, quiet and secluded home, enjoyable weekend
We enjoyed our stay so much. The cabin was great - it was a in beautiful setting, clean and a overall wonderful place to stay. The property manager was very friendly and answered many questions on great trails and fun things to do. We enjoyed being so close to the outdoor trails and views along the Little River Canyon.
The only drawback we experienced was the WiFi. The ad stated free WiFi, but when we arrived we were instructed we could not stream and internet usage is limited to 1G per day. Streaming was not an issue for us but I needed to work remotely via VPN for 6-8 hours during our 4 day stay. The internet service was intermittent at best and was inaccessible most of the time. 1G per day was not even possible. To complete my work we ended up sitting in a McDonald’s parking lot in Fort Payne to get free WiFi and I worked in the car. When we made reservations, I expected to work in the comfort of the cabin but that was not the case for most my work time. We attempted to use our phone’s hotspot as an alternative, but becaue of the remote location that didn’t work either. When the internet did work it only accommodated one device at a time. I suggest a better internet package for this cabin and until then, I recommend an adjustment to the property ad to reflect the WiFi limitations.
Other recommendations - add a movie package to the TV/dish service or update the property ad to recommend bringing dvds. Also inform renters - to enjoy a fire in the wood burning fireplace during their stay, they will need to find or purchase firewood.
Thank you for sharing your cabin and property! I have already recommended this property to others and would definitely stay again.

Thank you for your stay and input. This cabin is inside the National Park and there is no better or faster internet available, we have tried them all. You are in the woods in a national park and it is limited on who serves this area. And it does list the speed and limit in the listing. Also the TV has the standard package with basic sports with an option to get movie packages for your stay. Also we have 50 free DVD movies there for your viewing as well. In addition there is a separate TV system that was listed in your welcome package that does have movie channels. We have had others not read the packet to realize there is two TV networks so dont feel bad if you did not see that. We try to cover everything with our guest at check in but it is hard to cover it all and maybe we need to make that part bold in the welcome packet.
Sory for any inconvience and we hope to have you again.
