About the host
Hosted by Johannes V
It was in the summer of 2006 that we were visiting Altja for the first time. Just bumped into this little village. Not knowing what to expect we walked down the small sand road towards the fisherman’s shed. We sat down in the grass watching the sun set.
Than at a sudden the wind carried a sound to me. It was a song. A song written by a Danish-Dutch couple named Nina & Frederik back in the sixties. I knew that song, it was one of my dad and moms’ favorites. Must have been about ten years old or so. Never heard that song again since then. “Listen to the Ocean”.
I became emotional and made an impulsive promise to build a house at this beautiful spot, and would name it after my late dear mother Cornelia.………And so we did.
“Cornelia” home is a private house and has been built by me and my wife from composing the first architectural drawing till mounting the last curtain rod. Therefore it has a very special place in our heart. We are in love with this house and with the fantastic surroundings. Sea, deep forests, and total quietness. Nothing more to wish for...
