Historic 3-bedroom (2 KINGS, 1 Queen ), 2-bathroom home with a PRIVATE entrance, master en-suite bath, dining room, kitchen, PRIVATE courtyard and back garden and RARE driveway parking option.

Situated on the 1st floor of a 5-family townhouse, with an emphasis on comfortable furnishings, organic amenities and excellent customer service.

I am an experienced host who has been awarded Premier Host Status on VRBO.

I provide guests the same five-star touches that I look for when I travel: lodging located in a gorgeous upscale neighborhood, safety, cleanliness, high-speed Internet, comfortable furnishings, and upscale linens, towels, mattresses, and kitchenware.

Spacious home rests on a quiet tree-lined street in one of the safest, most preferred areas of DC. We are mingled among beautiful mansions, embassies and presidential dwellings.

The space is renovated and has 1800 square feet of indoor living area, featuring high ceilings, tall windows and original French doors. Enhancing those quarters are two private outdoor areas: the courtyard for dining alfresco and the patio for conversation around the back garden.

For extra convenience, there is a washer-and-dryer available for guest use.

Comfortable contemporary and antique furnishings are accented by eclectic decor. You’ll find the kitchen well-stocked. The master bedroom nicely sized, with an organic king mattress and en-suite bath. The garden bedroom is even larger, with a king mattress and French doors leading to the back garden. The third bedroom is small and rustic, yet the glass ceiling gives you the thrill of gazing at the stars from bed.

Steps from our door you will find a corner market and a dry cleaner. Just a few blocks beyond you'll enjoy restaurants, cafes, salons, theater and shopping.

Price is seasonal and is based on 3 lodgers.

Lovely location

This property is a wonderful respite in a place that is close to all necessities. The courtyard and garden are so quiet and restful. Getting rides and food delivery was simple and the neighborhood is lovely to walk around in.

lovely home in great location

6 friends enjoyed our stay at this property. Nice outside and inside. A great location near hop on hop off bus stop, city bus and short walk to Metro Any questions or problems were solved in a timely manner. Highly recommend this home.

Outstanding Washington home

Outstanding 3 bedroom home in walking distance to DuPont Circle Metro. Clean, with beautiful courtyard and outside patio. A quick 12 minute walk to the Metro and close to all of Washington DC's sights. Highly recommend this home and its wonderful owner Gloria. Lesley K

Rare Garden Home in Terrific Location

We just spent a wonderful week in this rare DC garden home filled with windows, lots of light, and lovely views of the home's two private courtyards. Furnishings included comfy beds and seating plus a table and chairs suitable for dinner for six. The home was fun, unique, spacious, and absolutely spotless, truly adding to our enjoyment of our DC vacation.

Fantastic Location

The location was perfect and the neighborhood was really nice and easy to travel with good restaurants nearby. The house is beyond spacious with plenty of room for families. The only negative was that the room with the glass ceiling is amazing at night, but can get very warm during a hot summer day. Other than that, the stay was perfect.

Terrific location

The manager was very sensitive about us not upsetting her neighbors. A fine place but guests will need to be mindful of noise. Not a place if one is looking for a place to entertain others.

So glad you had a good stay! And yes, my home is only available for guests who are seeking an upscale, peaceful place to lodge at the neighborhood level—it is definitely not a party house. There is a big push nationwide (by the hotel lobby) to ban vacation rentals. They say it's because of the noise coming from guests using the vacation rental to entertain, instead of using it as a base to explore a new city. I'm trying to do my part in keeping the peace for my neighbors, and also in keeping this lodging option available to Americans. Plus, I travel a lot and only stay at vacation rentals and I really dislike when I've unknowingly booked a place that is loud and filthy.

Wonderful getaway

The home was charming and in an outstanding location. We were able to walk to the memorials, markets, restaurants, pubs and the trolley stop was also close by. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. We were three couples and we were comfortable in the space and enjoyed the outdoor settings in the patio and garden. Thank you to owner Gloria for providing all the necessary information to make our stay so pleasant. We would definitely come back again and recommend this property.

My parents stayed here for 2 weeks and it was perfect for what we needed. Clean, well stocked, beautiful garden and lovely decor. Everything is on one floor and has walk in showers. Gloria is a joy to work with. She was extremely accessible and answered all of our questions immediately.

The property was in a fantastic location, and well-maintained. If you don’t mind sharing a roof/ceiling/wall with someone this property as ideal. I loved the convenience of the store downstairs, and the proximity to getting around DC. The owners were very responsive. Note, there is no television! Wi-Fi work perfectly fine

Funky hideaway

You know when you find a restaurant or a parking spot that is so good you want to keep it to yourself? Same with this lovely, funky spot. It may not suit everyone...it's not a cookie-cutter hotel room...but the large windows and outdoor space made it an oasis for us. The manager was super professional and prompt, making this an effortless family retreat for us. I can't wait to return.

This home is in a fantastic location: safe, central, and great transportation options. Very inviting outdoor space, we hope to come back and enjoy them when the weather is better. Nice interior space with three bedrooms and a kitchen. Washer and dryer were a plus for us, as was the gas fireplace. Single TV is small and limited channels. Great Experience

The house was great - plenty of room to spread out, a beautiful garden behind, and lots of charm. We had 6 people ranging from 11 to 70 years old, and had plenty of space for all of us. There is one large bathroom and one smaller one; both are absolutely useable, but it probably helps to be flexible as needed. The beds were great, and the location was perfect for us. We might have heard people above us once during our 4 days there, the property felt very secluded and relaxing. Gloria was wonderfully responsive, and overall this was a great find.

Great Place

The house is exactly as presented in the photos. It was VERY clean, which was nice. The neighborhood is upscale with two small groceries a short walk away. Lots of fun local restaurants with outdoor dining nearby. Coming back to a quiet house in a nice neighborhood was a great escape for our family after a long day of doing crowded tourist things. Short walk to the Metro, but also a cheap Uber ride back if we were tired of walking. It was nice to give our college age son his own room to stretch out and sleep late. Owner was very responsive and wanted to make sure we had a great experience. I would stay here again!

We loved this house, so comfortable with parking, a gem in . DC There are however a few caveats. There is no designated closet space, a bit weird to have to put ones things in among the owners. Pillows need improving. The third bedroom or rustic room is so open and light it's very difficult to sleep in

Great lovely home. Beautiful neighborhood. Challenge of the 2nd bath.

Beautiful area, convenient. Great den for gathering. We easily took Uber’s everywhere. Loved walking in neighbourhood and walking to a few restaurants . One bedroom has in suite bath and the other bath is two rooms away from the other nice bedroom. Be warned that as lovely as the house is, there is construction work going on very near and they start at 7:00 a m with jack hammers. Ask for separate top sheet unless you like the European duvet only for cover.

Clean comfortable home

We stayed over the Christmas holiday. Only had one small issue with parking but we were able to reach Gloria right away and she was happy to help. The home is spacious, has very comfortable beds, and is only a short walk away to the train. The neighborhood felt very safe even at night as we would walk back from the train. I would suggest guest bring an eye mask if they prefer a dark room. Having rented many homes on each of our holidays, my only suggestion to the homeowner would be offering a list of what is available in the kitchen. It is a rather limited kitchen and I was making breakfast and dinner almost daily. I would have brought a bit more from home if I'd known what was and wasn't there. i would highly recommend the home and would return if we were to come back to DC.

Charming and serene with plenty of space.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property and it worked very well for us. I loved the quirky decor and it was super comfortable and home-like. The beautiful outdoor patios are a great retreat for time to read by yourself or a morning breakfast. Shopping is convenient and the kitchen is very well equipped - and really cute. There’s also a nice spin/barre business nearby if you want some exercise. Why didn’t I give it a fifth star? For those who require something closer to hotel-like perfection, you might not love the small second bathroom shower curtain, but it is clean and functional (the main bath is excellent). The garden bedroom gets extremely hot during the day, so anyone staying there and needing a nap will have to use one of the other bedrooms. It’s fine for the evening and a beautiful room. The metro is a bit of a walk away, but if you value the peaceful street just don’t wear heels.

Perfect weekend in DC

This apartment is in a great location in a beautiful neighborhood. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything you might need to come and go. The master bedroom bed and linens were very nice. The 2nd and 3rd bedroom and those staying there share a small bathroom in the hallway off the kitchen. The second couple or others need to be very flexible. As indicated by the owner please bring eye mask to sleep comfortable in the other two bedrooms due to all the natural light that comes in thru the windows. Very beautiful spaces but one will have issues sleeping if not prepared. Its a beautiful apartment with a very shabby chic appeal. The owner provides great directions for everything in the apartment and responds very quickly if you have any issues. We would rent it again it is a very comfortable place. DC is a beautiful place with lots of things to see and do. We only touched the edge of it all. Be sure and see the monuments at nights.
