About this property

29 day rental - Flexible — extended Fall, Winter, Spring in the Rockies!

Due to a city Ordinance in town restricting parking, we have chosen to move the parsonage to a minimum 29 night rental with a liberal refund policy. This benefits our guests by reducing the per night cost to stay in this wonderful town! Our Historic mountain home was built in 1868. Formerly an Episcopal Parsonage, this home has old world charm combined with modern conveniences. Relax in the fenced backyard and enjoy a gorgeous mountain view or take a two minute walk to Georgetown's historic main street where you can shop and dine. You are a stones throw from Guanella Pass (US Route 285) and only a short 15 minute drive from Loveland's ski area. Cinemount Studios in Denver shot scenes inside and out of the Parsonage for their movie "For the Living".

Great value

Great value, lots of space, well stocked kitchen, staples, bedding, towels and supplies. Walk to restaurants. Wifi, heat, washer, dryer all good. Communication with owner easy. However you do get what you pay for: front door lock does not function, should be replaced, refrigerator has only two temps, off and below freezing. Overall very good value.

Amazing Georgetown Gem!

We had a wonderful stay at Jim's place in Georgetown. My fiance and I came out to ski all season, and this spot was perfect for what we needed. The town itself is so wonderful - lots of friendly locals, beautiful hikes, and fun restaurants. Our house itself was even better than expected! Very spacious, tons of character. Jim was super easy to connect with and extremely welcoming. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay in Georgetown

Our family of seven (plus our dog) had a wonderful month-long stay in this sweet and cozy house! It feels much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside, and was spotlessly clean on our arrival. The high speed internet worked great. We felt right at home, and we absolutely loved Georgetown. Jim was kind enough to provide us with suggestions of things to do and explore. Our kids loved walking to the library to pick up books, playing on the great town playground, and we all enjoyed the hiking available right from town, as well as all the scenic beauty within such a short drive - Guanella Pass, Mount Evans! The Georgetown Loop railroad was fun, seeing the bighorn sheep in town was a real treat, too. The rec center in Idaho Springs has a great pool with large water slides, a lazy river, a sauna, and a zero-entry pool for little ones. We weren't ready to leave when it was time to head back home!

Historic Georgetown home

Our family of 5 adults and 1 child stayed in this home for a spring break ski trip. The home is within walking distance of several nice Georgetown restaurants and a couple of fun parks. We prepared all breakfasts and lunches, plus one dinner, in the kitchen with no problems. We had no problems parking across the street, really just a few steps from the front door. The house was comfortable and charming and well-located for a Loveland ski trip.

Wonderful time capsule adventure!

The property was wonderful. Beautiful and well maintained! The backyard was lovely and had all the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay. The basement was pretty creepy, but thankfully we had strong men staying with us and had no need to go down there :) The property management team was very informative about the property and super responsive to questions. We loved our stay in Georgetown!

Comfortable and convenient

The house is a nice antique, bigger than it looks from the outside. We used it as a base to ski a couple of days at Loveland (20 minutes) and to do some sightseeing in the area. Georgetown is a funky little town, a bit sleepy, with good food. Overall a very good experience and I would recommend the Parsonage to a friend.

Nestled in historic Georgetown mountains

enjoyed our stay with a lot of historic settings inside and outside the property. Kids, families and the dog enjoyed every day of stay at this property. Two minutes walk to Georgetown down, easy access to ski resorts and all other winter activities.

2nd time around!

WOW! You could not ask for a more cozy place. Mountains all around. Wonderful restaurants and shops. Oh boy, what perfect August weather for a Texan to get away to. Like I said-- second time around for us at The Parsonage, and I just booked my 2016 trip. Of course it is well stocked for all of your needs. The owners are very responsive if you need them. (We didn't.) Loved it & planning on coming back and back and back again...

Family Friendly Mountain Getaway

Our family enjoyed our stay. The house had lots of charm, but was well stocked for cooking and family activities. The firepit in the back yard was pleasant, as was the close proximity to the city park. It was a pleasant place to stay.

Fun for a family reunion

The place was cozy and has some cute characteristics. Some quirks (example: bathrooms don't lock!). But for a family reunion where we met after so long it did not matter. The kitchen is well stocked - It was a fun stay overall.

Great Ski Weekend

We rented the house with one other couple and three dogs for a ski weekend in 1/2015 and had a great overall experience. The house was well maintained, comfortable, spacious, and had a great back yard for the dogs. Jim, the owner, seemed responsive, organized, and easy to communicate with. We also found Georgetown as a great low-hassle alternative to the resorts for lodging during a ski trip. We went to Copper but the town would also easily serve Keystone, ABasin, Loveland, or Winter Park resorts. Would highly recommend.

Such a wonderful home

My parents flew out for a visit from FL...this was absolutely perfect for us. Cozy, warm, clean, lots of room, and a great fenced backyard where my dogs could play. I will be going back, for sure.

My family and I loved your cabin in Georgetown. It was very quaint and had plenty of room for our four children to spread out and have fun. The backyard was so peaceful!

Fall weekend for the ladies

My friends and I planned a fall weekend full of viewing leaves, hiking, and enjoy historical Georgetown. The house was delightful and decor matched historical feel of the town. We really enjoyed the fire pit were we roasted marshmallows. It was wonderful that we could walk downtown and did not have worry about parking. We hike Mt.Evans which was about 45 minutes away. Hope you had as much fun as we did.

Very comfortable home

Ditto to the review from CC in Texas. The house was all and more. Very easy to relax in, and we stayed in both nights and bbq'd. Trails, fishing, backyard, everything a relaxing weekend needs. Thanks again Jim.

Very good!

I actually rate this place 4 & 1/2 stars. I would describe this house as vintage, comfy, and cozy-- in a great location! This is a house that was built in the late 1800's so if you are expecting luxurious accomodations this isn't your place. If, however, you want a 3 bedroom home with modern bathrooms and a modern kitchen with a wonderful backyard, then this is your place. It was perfect for us. It has a large dining area with a good sized living room. Good wifi, a nice tv, and a DVD player are also included. Plenty of towels, dishes, etc. The house is about 2 blocks away from a cute little town filled with non-chain restaurants and shops. We stayed for about 2 weeks. If all goes well, we will be definitely be back next summer. It was wonderful to get out of the Texas heat. Ps- the owners are friendly and easy to deal with.

Great Vacation Home

THE HOST. Jim is very caring and helpful. He has thought about all kinds of things vacationers might want. THE HOME. It is an old house with modern comforts. It’s spacious – 3 bedrooms, a large dinning and a large living room. The 5 of us (incld. a very active 5-year old) had enough space to enjoy our time. It’s great to have 2 clean and well-equipped bathrooms. There was an ample supply of towels, soaps and shampoo. The kitchen is generously stocked with pots, pans, flatware, dinnerware, cookware, condiments and spices. It has gas stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher and 2 refrigerators. We cooked dinner every night and enjoyed a sense of home. Beds were comfortable and clean. Parking was easy. The backyard has table and chairs to enjoy and is safe for kids. There are quite a few antique pieces in the house which made the experience even more enjoyable. There’s a big TV but we did not need to use it. The high-speed Wi-Fi worked great. Washer and dryer worked well. THE TOWN. Georgetown is a cozy historic town with easy access. It’s neither over-developed to become too modern and generic nor over-crowded. You can walk on a handsome main street without rubbing shoulders with others and you can talk to locals who have lived there for years. It has no casino and that’s a plus for us. The large playground at the city park and the small one near the house are both fun for kids. We felt quite safe. Kneisel & Anderson is a nice old grocery store. We got good bread from Cake LLC and had a nice breakfast at Happy Cooker. The Family Dollar by exit 228 has decent supplies. A Safeway (in Idaho Springs) is less than 20 min. drive. THE AREA. The surrounding area is great for sightseeing and hiking. The west entrance to the RMNP is about 90 min. away. Mt. Evans has a paved road and took us less than 90 min. from the house to summit. The scenery was wonderful both along the way and on the summit. Guanella Pass is only a 30-min. drive with gorgeous scenery and nice hiking trails. We went there four times during our stay. There are a lot of other attractions close by – Red Rocks Park, parks around Evergreen, Vail, Breckenridge, Silverthorne (which has an outlet mall), Loveland Pass, etc. We took a day trip to USAFA and the Garden of the Gods. Day trips to the Royal Gorge Bridge or to Pikes Peak would be easy to accomplish (had we stayed longer). All in all, we had a wonderful time and would love to go back again. Thank you, Jim!

Beautiful Historic Home

We are a married couple travelling with a 2 year old child. Summer getaway. The home was perfect for our needs. VERY close (5 minute walk) to Georgetown's business/tourist street (6th Street). And located RIGHT next to the road to the AMAZING Guanella pass. Kitchen was great and we loved the vintage refrigerator. TV/Internet/Cable all worked with no problem. Very clean. Loved the porch. We will be back :) Thanks Jim!

Perfect Weekend Getaway Home

This was the perfect older home with all of the amenities anyone could need. Lots of room to relax and plenty of bedrooms for our older children to have their privacy. It was the first time in a long time that we all sat and visited instead of having the TV on. Short walk to a really quaint downtown. We so enjoyed our visit we will definitely be coming back. Thanks for letting us stay in your fantastic home!

Georgetown holds a special place in our hearts for many reasons -- Amazing people, incredible memories, beautiful summers and winters and just lots of fun! And we were married in this wonderful little town in 2000!

Why they chose this property

This house in the historic district of Georgetown is the essence of this old historic mining town. While the town was established in 1859, our house was built circa 1868 and has historic charm inside and out. It has been difficult to capture how wonderful our house in the pictures posted. The house is quite open and spacious and really comfortable. I encourage you to read the reviews. Call me for more details!

What makes this property unique

Our home has gone through some significant updating to add to its comfort. However, we were careful to hold onto the character and Georgetown 'feel'! There is not another home in Georgetown that combines the town history and modern day comforts like ours. From internet, cable and appliances to turn of the century floors, wall coverings and ambiance! Great fenced backyard with views to kill! and both charcoal and gas grills with a fire pit for the cool nights! All tucked in the most historical section of Georgetown. Awesome! Come and make memories!
