This private & comfortable 1200sf guest suite has a separate entrance and is nestled among pines, birch, maples & oaks. Deer, birds, wood ducks & mallards return to their favorite MN pond, for you to enjoy. A peaceful place to read, rest, relax and reflect!

•Enjoy your large bedroom & a good nights sleep in the king log canopy bed with down feather ticks.
•Room for additional guests on the log bunks & quality sofa sleeper in the main area.
•Two 8’ patio doors to a huge private colored concrete patio with log swing and custom fire pit & log benches.
•Full kitchen with island seating has dishes, silverware, glassware and many extras, for your convenience.
•Living room stays cozy with stone gas fireplace. Perfect for naps.
•4 seat dining room table. Add stools from the kitchen island for additional seating.
•Full bathroom with shower/tub combo and generous vanity.
•Private en suite washer & dryer.
•Gorgeous views in every direction.
•We welcome your groomed, house-trained pet at an additional $30 a night. (Let us know your special canine need. We love furry friends!) Pets to be placed in pet carrier if/when left unattended in guest suite.
•Prices listed are for up to 2 adults
•Each person after 2 will be charged an additional $30 per night.

Everything was as expected! Very close to CSB/SJU which worked great for our weekend plans with our college daughter! Robin was very responsive to anything we needed!

Relaxing few days in Avon

The property was perfect for my stay over July 4th holiday. Went hiking, ate at Krewes in Saint Joseph and watched a few movies. Very relaxing stay with my two dogs.

Great Getaway

Was a secluded little getaway just to relax and do very little other than decompress and this was perfect. Close to St Cloud of you need anything and plenty of amenities nearby as well. Great little relaxation spot!

Getaway

We just needed a couple days to recharge, this was a perfect fit for us. Watched the falling snow, sat by the fire, watched a movie - it was perfect. Thanks Jim and Robin for a memorable stay. We will be back.

Fabulous place!

This is the cleanest VRBO I've stayed in! Hosts were very responsive and accommodating. This place was a perfect little peaceful sanctuary to get away for a ladies weekend and relax. We sat at the little bench in the woods and enjoyed some peace and had a bonfire at night. Close to a brewery, cidery, and cute shops and coffee shops.

A great fall getaway

Wow! Another great stay at our favorite VRBO. My husband and I stayed here with another couple to attend the SJU football game over a long weekend. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit with s’mores, clean amenities, and warm ambiance. There is an apple orchard a mile away and so many fun shops and restaurants nearby in St Joe. We will be back! Thank you Jim and Robin!

What a beautiful, serene, well-appointed, clean place to relax!

Robin was very kind, even though I surprised her by showing up a bit early. Sorry Robin! We felt right at home when we moved in and were surrounded by a gorgeous manicured landscape. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five was that the king bed was not as comfortable as I had hoped. Other than that, it was an amazing place I hope to return to someday.

Peaceful and Relaxing

A perfect place to unwind. Quiet, no traffic sounds. Nature's creatures provide beautiful bird songs during the day. After dark you will hear small creatures sing out in soothing harmony.

An idyllic stay

We loved our stay at the Log Bear Den. Everything about it was perfect from the beautiful and comfortable furnishings and bed to the spectacular views from the 4 large glass doors out to the patio overlooking a lake with fountain set against wooded hills and beautiful landscaping. Robin and Jim were welcoming and helpful. Close to all the small towns while peacefully situated in the woods. The garage parking was a plus. We would love to return some day.

Comfortable long stay!

We found this great property close to home! We had water damage to our house, we had to find a place to stay while the restoration was done(3 weeks)! This was the perfect place, peaceful serene and comfortable! The property owners were available any time we had questions they were very accommodating and flexible as we were not sure how long we would have to stay, depending when the work would be done on our house. Would recommend this property if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway!

Big Bear Lodge Exceeds Expectations

BBL is a secluded, beautiful property yet close to everything St Joseph and St Cloud has to offer. It is well maintained and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped including basic cooking items. We had our meals on the patio overlooking the spacious lawn w the pond beyond. We enjoyed a bonfire at night and even got to see the northern lights. Robin and Jim are responsive, gracious hosts.

Early Fall Escape

Very nice & beautiful quiet cozy relaxing retreat !

The Log Bear Den is a amazing get away in central Minnesota. Our stay was awesome ! We loved the Log Bear Den. It was very spacious and had everything we needed, bunk beds in the living room,a large bed in the master bed room, a long with a flat screen TV, a big bathroom with a tub & shower, they allowed pets, the air worked great, & The walk out patio was huge it had a propane grill, a fire pit, sturdy lawn chairs and a big table with a pop up honing. You have a great view of the forest along with a pond . Your not far from activities near town and there is a beautiful lake near by with great fishing along with a large swimming beach. Jim & Robin were very nice & Acomdating right down to our last day. My Wife & I would highly recommend the Log Bear Den in Avon Minnesota. We will be back ! Tom & Kim Ackerland

We have always enjoyed serving people. Since 1979 when we were first married and had our first Christmas Party. It was in a 20' x. 20' cabin that we rehabbed (before that was even a thing...) and had to entertain our guests in shifts, because the space was so tight:)
Today we have much more space to accommodate our friends and our incredible family has grown, but our hearts are still focused on helping people to feel comfortable and enjoy the relationships and beauty around them. Many times, slowing down to enjoy some peace and quiet, reveals the blessing!
We look forward to sharing our little piece of heaven with you.

We absolutely love this convenient location. So close to coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. I-94 is less than 3 miles away for easy access. A few miles from SJU and only a couple miles to the famous Wobegon trail. The Ledge for concerts is 15 miles.
