Welcome! Our contemporary home is located in the heart of the Catskill Mountains on 5.26 acres. Ideal for family gatherings and reunions. Located just 1.5 miles from the village of Margaretville and 12 miles to many wedding venues located in the villages of Roxbury, Andes and Bovina. Nearby, 9 miles is Belleayre ski center and Plattekill ski is 10 miles.
An open air concept contemporary house with stone fireplace and woodstove. Enjoy the mountain view from inside through the sliding glass doors and sky lights or out on the wrap around deck. There are five bedrooms and three bathrooms . One of the downstairs bedrooms is a large open space with three queen beds. The other four bedrooms have one queen bed. Plenty of room for the family. We also have our front desk concierge available at no charge and a 24 hr. emergency contact person

The home was clean with plenty of space. The kitchen was stocked with the required cooking utensils and the bbq grill with propane was a plus. All of the beds were clean and comfortable. The house is on a well system, quick showers would be recommended.

The house has a good layout with plenty of room and an easily accessible master bedroom with attached bathroom that is perfect for older adults or people with disabilities. The kitchen has everything you need and the large deck has great views. While the kitchen and bathrooms were clean the bathrooms were neglected the sheets and pillowcases were clean the rest of the rooms were not. A few items in the house are outdated and in need of repair or replacement. There is plenty of parking and a lot of usable outdoor space. House was easy to access and locate.

The house is in a beautiful, private location. It was big enough to comfortably accommodate our party of 10 adults and a 2 year old. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace, hot tub and grill. The beds were comfortable and sheets were clean. However, I do not feel the pictures and reviews were accurate. The house has been severely neglected and was not clean. The towels were worn and frayed (rag worthy imo). The kerosene heater smelled horribly. The washing machine didn’t work and required a phone call to be fixed, thank you for your prompt service Becky! None of the bathroom sinks had drain plugs in them, a curtain rod just randomly fell down from the wall one night when we were sleeping, weeds were growing up under the door from the outside (really? - a 10 second weed pull would’ve taken care of this), the screen doors were very difficult to open and close, there were holes in the screens. The oven was filthy. A worn out sponge was all that was present at the kitchen sink. I went out and purchased a new one. There was a box of what appeared to be garbage under the sink. The linen/towel closet and pantry areas were very disorganized. The area carpets on top of the wall to wall carpets were a trip hazard. The bathroom ceiling on the main level was cracked and in need of repair. It was not up to the standards I expect when I rent a place.

Dear Holly, I need to point out a few things that are misleading and not correct in your review. The house is clean. The staff cleaned the house the day before and on that the day of check in. You even stated the house is beautiful and the beds were comfortable and the sheets clean, yet how can the house be neglected and not clean? Your statement is misleading about the towels, some towels are frayed , we provide the old ones for hot tub use, and the other towels for personal bathing are brand new as I just replaced them a month ago. You state the washer didnt work, it does work, the outlet was bad and Becky plugged it in the other slot. We were unaware of this until you called. And yes Becky came there promptly and while she was there you never mentioned any of the things in your review that gave us a lower review. She would have fixed the issues right then but you never gave us a chance, and instead decided to blindside us with this unfavorable review. We also found a curtain rod ripped off from the wall and hanging on the floor. No mention of this during your stay. There was no garbage under the sink, that was a bag of cleaning products and Becky offered to replace the sponge but you turned downed her offer and instead decided to buy your own and then write a negative comment. The unorganized closet is the maid closet and should have been locked. The decorative runner if you felt was a tripping hazard for your group could have been rolled up easily and put aside.

This was by far the best vacation experience I have ever had. The property was beautiful and the house came with everything a group of 15 could need and more. We came to ski and wound up spending more time in the house because it was a great set up and had different areas for people to different activities and not annoy one another. Our teens loved the space in the addition- it had pool and table tennis and a great movie set up. I really do hope we can stay agin because this house made our family vacation a truly magical experience!!!!

Wasn't clean!

There were dead bugs all around the house, in the kitchen, bathrooms & window sills. The fridge had a lot of leftover food particles. Towels were not in the best condition. This is not what you expect from a holiday home. All the reviews I read earlier said that the place was very clean, which is what attracted me to it, despite the fact that it was very old and not particularly attractive. And when we arrived, this is what we found out. Very disappointing!!

Dear Folks, The house was clean when you arrived. There were some minor cleaning issues you emailed us about and, we came over immediately and took care of your concerns. Yes there were a few bugs, this is summer time and this is the country and when you open and close the sliding doors and keep the front door open, bugs will fly in. The refridgerator had some minor food particles, very minor and I cleaned it personally. We also checked your complaint about the towels and found no problem with them, so I do not know what you were referring to. The house is not old, we have made many upgrades and keep it maintained properly. The pictures are accurate. The decorating may not be to your taste. This review is not quite accurate in its portrayal of the house. We have had many many satisfied guests over the seven years we have rented it and across diffenet websites.

Just returned from a long weekend away at the Guesthouse in Margaretville, NY. Carol was a very responsive host, and check-in/check-out was easy. Our party of 9 ( including one senior and 4 young adult children aged 14-27) all had plenty of space. The bedroom on the main floor with an adjoining bath was perfect for my 84-year-old father, and the young men enjoyed the large basement "suite". The house was clean and well stocked. Enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck overlooking the property. Very close to the town and local outings. Plenty of parking, and very quiet. Lovely weekend.

The house is spacious and Margaretville is a wonderful small town. Fit our group of 8 people comfortably, and Carol was terrific to work with. Highly recommend for a getaway—especially during fall.

Everything about this stay was excellent. It is a lovely and comfy home, on a beautiful property, offers plenty of peace and quiet, and is in a great location. I recommend to anyone with a large group looking for a peaceful getaway in the Catskills.

Amazing Weekend Getaway

The house was so perfect to celebrate my best friends 30th birthday with 13 friends. The property was AMAZING for a weekend getaway. We had so much space in the backyard to get creative with games during the day and the fire pit was an awesome place to hangout at night. The beds were so comfortable and there was ample space to sleep 13 adults. Lastly, Carol was super helpful and made the whole experience seamless. I highly recommend and we might even return in the winter!

The property was great for our family ski weekend. Our nieces and nephews liked the big downstairs room. It snowed and the snow was plowed promptly and the deck stairs cleared. Overall, we had a very nice time in Margaretville.

Great house! Winter Getaway

This house was great for our two day ski trip upstate. The house was able to accomodate our cooking and food needs as well as enough beds for 7 kids and 5 adults. The large room with 3 queen beds and two couches was a great hangout room for the kids. They loved having their own space to play and talk. The fireplace was great and we were able to enjoy the fire while relaxing in the living room area and while eating dinner. Close proximity (15-20 min drive) to the various mountains was a huge plus. Hoping to come back in the summer!

Hi, my name is Carol and I have lived in Margaretville for 30 years. I own 5 properties total. Included is a bed and breakfast, motel, suites, private homes. I do weddings on site as well for up to 125 people in our historic barn. Ceremony is held in the pasture up from the barn. This house is next door tho the bed and breakfast. We have enough lodging for up to 105 people.
