About this property

Historic Farmhouse w Pond/Firepit/porch swing/Horses near Nashville

Tennessee Destination Farms presents The Phoenix House

Built in 1900, this charming farmhouse—affectionately known as The Phoenix House—stands as a living piece of Tennessee history. The property sits on land purchased from the original family, who had owned the farm since 1794, just two years before Tennessee became a state.

The farm, now called Tennessee Destination Farms, is rich with heritage. Many of the trees, flowers, and plantings across the property trace their origins to The Hermitage, the home of our nation’s seventh President, Andrew Jackson. The Hermitage still preserves the original gardens created by Rachel Jackson, whose love for horticulture continues to bloom here today.

Other notable historic treasures on the farm include an 1887 one-room schoolhouse and a 1941 train caboose, both currently being restored into unique Mid-Term and Short-Term Rentals. Once complete, each will feature modern comforts while offering families and couples an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind stay.

From the back deck of The Phoenix House, guests can take in breathtaking views of the valley and our natural spring-fed pond. The serene quiet of the countryside creates a peaceful retreat, while its location—just 25 minutes from downtown Nashville—offers the perfect balance of relaxation and city convenience.

Completely renovated and thoughtfully furnished, The Phoenix House is listed on VRBO and other OTAs as both a Short-Term and Mid-Term Rental. Guests will enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, updated bathrooms, and dedicated office spaces with desks—ideal for both leisure and extended stays.
