Fab apartment

Lovely clean apartment. Stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment so that we had an allocated car park space. Ideally situated for wandering around Looe. Would definitely recommend

Lovely apartment

The apartment was really lovely. It had everything anyone could need and was very clean and cosy. It was also very well situated in the middle of East Looe but there was no loud traffic outside. The owner was very helpful and sent us all the information we needed to find the place and settle in. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Charming little place

Really sweet little home. Stayed there with spouse and son and it was perfect. Nicely situated. Seconds from the beach, shopping and many restaurants. Owner was great and got in touch with us upon arrival to make sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely return.

Cosy cottage in the centre of East Looe

My wife and I stayed in the Cornish Museum Apartment for 4 nights and loved it. The cottage had everything we needed and the location right next to the beach, restaurants and pubs was so handy. We are keen walkers so the cottage was a great location for some superb coastal walks.

Great apartment in an ideal location and perfect as a base for exploring the local area.

The apartment in the Old Cornish Museum was well equipped, spotlessly clean and very convenient for the beach and the town. As a base for exploring the local area it was perfect. Additional highlights were the many and varied local walks - especially the cliff walk to Polperro - and Lanhydrock House. Invariably after a days' hiking we would end up at Daisy's Cafe which was by far the best place to eat in town! Will definitely return...

Well appointed and great location

A very comfortable cottage fitted to a high standard. Couldn’t be better located for the village and shops. Being an old, traditional property on the ground floor within the enchanting narrow streets of East Looe, the natural lighting is low but more than compensated for by the lighting provided for within the apartment. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - great cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course the beach!

Perfect Holiday Cottage.

My wife and I stayed here 2 weeks ago and we found it to be the most perfect cottage we have ever stayed in. Paul had thought of everything that was needed to make it home from home. Perfect location for beach, car park harbour and shops. We have no hesitation in recommending the Old Museum and will definetly return.

Sehr schönes Appartement in historischem Gebäude, ideal gelegen

Needs cleaning

Stayed in the cottage for two weeks in Aug with wife and 3 kids. Good points; Great location only meters from the beach, and right in the centre close to restaurants/bars/shops. Good size for a old cottage. Good sized bathroom. Parking space close by. Now the bad points; The whole cottage needs a really good clean top to bottom. We found dust that had been there months. A shoe behind the fire!! The floor was filthy and after seeing the mop in the cottage you can see why! The freezer door falls off every time it's opened. The hot tap in the bath falls off every time it's used. The smoke alarm goes off at the slightest thing...opening a packet of smoky bacon crisps near it I think would even set it off. The walls are quite marked and would benefit from being painted. All in all a good cottage poorly managed. We wouldn't stay here again. The cleaner did come in for a wipe around when we complained but must of only been in 20 mins as cottage was still dirty. Contacted the owner regarding getting some money back as we felt it wasn't hygienic and nowhere near the standard it should of been, but got completely ignored. You can't ignore your cottage is filthy. We have photos to back up all of our points.

Old Museum Cottage, Looe Cornwall

What a lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and tidy with excellent kitchen facilities. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and the added car parking spot was really good. Restaurants, shops, bars tea rooms all within one minute even the beach and fishing all within just a few steps from your door. We really enjoyed our stay and we are already looking forward to our return.

The old museum cottage is a lovely place to stay, very clean and nicely decorated. Everything we needed was there, couldn't ask for more, wouldn't change or add anything, location was ideal. Miss Marples did lovely snacks, would definitely recommend .

Lovely property, perfectly located

We (2 adults and 2 children aged 9 & 6) stayed at the Old Museum for 3 nights in April 2016 and had a wonderful time. The property was perfectly located, practically on the doorstep to the beach and within easy reach of many great restaurants around the town. The property itself has 2 bedrooms as well as a sofa bed in the lounge area, the cottage was small but perfectly adequate for our family size, especially as we were rarely in the house during the day. Everything we needed was provided in the property, we just bought along our own food/drink (there is a well stocked Co-op in the town Centre for supplies). There were plenty of towels provided and a constant supply of hot water (which was needed after a day on a windy beach!) The cottage has a separate shower and bath which is great when you have children with you. The cottage is perfect and felt very homely and the owners were very responsive and helpful during the booking process as well as checking in (via email) on arrival to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed. Looe was beautiful, our children didn't want to leave and are asking us to book a return trip for the summer which we may well do!

An absolute gem!

My husband and I stayed at The Old Museum for 3 nights mid April and we loved every minute of our time in this wonderful apartment. The whole process of booking and staying could not have been made easier or more pleasurable. Paul was delightful and incredibly helpful and patient when helping us to book. I opted to stay here following the funeral of my Mother and I just needed to get away and relax. Paul was totally understanding and could not have been more helpful. I booked at 11.30am from my home in Hampshire and was enjoying my first glass of wine relaxing in The Old Museum by 4.30 the same day. Perfect! The apartment was incredibly well equipped, comfortable, warm and cosy and the location close to the harbour and within easy walking distance of everything Looe has to offer was spot on. It had been made ready for us and was welcoming and spotlessly clean. All the bedding, towels and everything you need for a great stay were provided and of lovely high quality. On booking, we were supplied with full directions, car parking details and access details, all of which were very easy to follow. Finding and accessing the car park and apartment with the information could not have been easier which given the week we'd had was exactly what was needed! All in all, a fantastic 3 night break. We were very sorry to leave and wished we'd booked longer, so will be returning very soon. A lovely property I'd highly recommend to anyone.

Lovely cottage - would definitely recommend!

We loved our stay at The Old Museum in Looe over the Easter bank holiday weekend. The cottage has everything you need and is situated perfectly in Looe. It was very clean and well-maintained, with lots of character and nice features. We stayed with our 18 month old daughter who loved visiting the beach just a few minutes walk and the hustle and bustle of Looe. The cottage has everything you need and being so central was great. We visited The Monkey Sanctuary just 10-15 minutes away, Fowey and Polperro. Paul, the owner provided excellent customer service. We will definitely be back, and would definitely recommend to a friend.

A little piece of luxury

We stayed for 4 days, what a delightful place this is, weather was rubbish and we opened the door to a beautiful cozy cottage. Basically bring yourselves and your food. Everything is there that you need and I am fussy. Very clean, comfy bed, lots of hot water, and warm. Extremely close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Parking and collecting keys was a doddle. I've just checked to see when it's next available as we plan on returning soon.

Cosy and Convenien

This cosy fisherman's cottage is conveniently located near the beach and meters from restaurants and pubs in the centre of Looe. It has everything you need for a pleasant holiday, and when our heating was off on our first day, the local manager Kate, was there immediately to fix things. We loved The Ancient Mariner restaurant and the Old Salutation Inn and Smuggler's Cott are great pubs.

It does exactly what it says on the tin!

Great position, only a few yards from the sea. Car parking was great. The flat was warm and comfortable. The bathroom was great and the shower was hot and powerful. We did not use the cooking facilities as we were out all day. We had no complaints regarding restaurants, our favourites were Mawgans, Smugglers Cott and Coddy Shack. It really is advisable to pre-book tables in most of the good restaurants, as Looe is very popular. A really enjoyable break.

Lovely Looe

Excellent booking process, fast response, clear directions. Accurate description, well equipped, clean, warm and looked after. The property is very close to the beach and all looe has to offer it makes up for lack of outside space. Once parked you need not move the car but Eden Project and Heligan are good visits. There is a good bus service to Polperro, Liskeard and Plymouth. There's lots of boat and fishing trips. We ate lots of crab, scones and fish and tried all the pubs. There's lots more to see and do so we would recommend this property.

My wife and I run this small holiday business from our home office just outside Bath. We own the three properties we let in East Looe, Cornwall.

We have designed the business on our own experiences of travelling and staying in holiday
apartments. Here are our main principles:
• Be as responsive as possible to any email communication from the customer. We try to
answer all emails within the hour.
• Offer interesting, historic buildings in a beautiful and relaxing environment.
• Offer locations that work well without a car.
• Try to make the properties as close to a “home from home” as possible.
• Work hard to keep the standard of maintenance as high as possible.
• We pay a bonus to our housekeeper if the words “spotlessly clean” appear in a review.
• Make the business of booking as simple and straightforward as possible.
• Trust our guests.
• Provide enough information to enable guests to find the property easily.
• Make the check in as simple as possible.
• Provide a stress-free holiday from beginning to end.

Why they chose this property

This apartment is for you if you enjoy:

Being within one minute of beautiful sandy Looe beach.
A location two minutes from the shops, restaurants and pubs.
Staying in an almost traffic free area.
The sound of the waves breaking on the sea shore.
A car free holiday.
A cosy and warm home from home
Walking the coastal paths at any time of year
Areas of outstanding natural beauty within walking distance
Staying in a proper working fishing town with friendly locals
High speed WiFi connection with download speeds of up to 35 MB

What makes this property unique

I have known Cornwall all my life and I chose Looe because:

It feels like a real place with a fishing industry and work outside the tourist and second home business. Most of the homes in Looe are occupied all year round so the pubs are lively on a Friday night and the Fore Street can have a buzz about it on a Saturday morning.
It is possible to arrive in Looe by train.
It not very far inside Cornwall shaving an hour or more off the tail end a long drive from up-country.

I chose this particular property because:

I loved the idea of being so close to the beach.
It was so quiet at night.
I liked the privacy of being one row back from the sea front.
I loved the thick solid construction and the history of the building.
I could see it working well for short Winter breaks.
I felt there was enough to do in the area to keep occupied for a week without using the car.
