Large Studio - Very Light & Airy - Balcony - Stunning Sea Views - Wi-Fi

"La Salotta" is a light, airy, unique space created within our family's home. The spacious studio room has large windows and a balcony that are south facing giving it a very light feel. Inside or outside you can enjoy the stunning views of the Bay of Napoli, Vesuvio & Capri. The space is set out with separate zones for sleeping, relaxing, cooking/dining.

Just a 5mins walk is a Funicular station for easy access to the public transport system to reach all parts of Napoli, the Centro Storico (historic centre), the quartiere called Vomero, the metro and other nearby historic sites such as Pompeii, Ercolano, Campi Flegrei.

We are located in the quartiere called Chiaia, a semi-residential area of Napoli, rich in genuine character, located next to the Spanish quartiere and just below the upper quartiere Vomero and Continues down to sea level.

Our apartment is located on the 2nd floor (with elevator) within a classic C1900 Napolitan palazzo. We are within a 'parco' (Napolitan for private road with restricted access) that has a gated entrance and a 24x7 security guard.

Our palazzo is set back from the road in an elevated position making the apartment both tranquil & secure. The raised position makes the views from windows and balcony truly stunning. You'll have a 180 degree views taking in Vesuvius and sweep across the bay past Capri, Mergelina onto the Posilipo hills. The sunrises are spectacular and the sunsets turn the gulf to a multi coloured show. On clear days and with a long lens or binoculars, across the bay, you can see the entrance to the fabled Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto) on Capri. Also the town of Sorrento across the bay and even the whole caldera at the summit of Vesuvius.

On the main road outside the gate can be found almost everything needed. There are 2 funicular stations, one within 5mins the other 15mins walk, bars, gelato store, restaurants, various food stores (meat, fish, bread, fruit) and a medium sized supermarket.

Follow the same road and you can reach the Museo Nazionale (national museum) in 25min walk. Here you can view many of the Pompeii treasures recovered during excavations.

Nous avons adoré cet appartement avec une vue magnifique sur la baie. Paola et John nous ont donné beaucoup de conseils sur nos visites et les restaurants et commerces à proximité. Es liegt hoch über Neapel, hat einen wunderbaren Meerblick mit guter Meerluft, ist ruhig und sicher und ist sehr zentral an die öffentlichen Nahverkehrsmittel angebunden. Das Bett war von sehr guter Qualität. Die Ausstattung war ebenfalls geschmackvoll und die Küchenausstattung war angemessen. Paola & John sind sehr nette und hilfsbereite Gastgeber. Paola und John sind wundervolle Gastgeber und haben uns sehr herzlich willkommen geheißen. Sie haben sich viel Zeit für uns genommen, um uns für Neapel zu rüsten - mit vielen Tipps und Empfehlungen. Mit frischem Obst, einem leckeren selbstgemachten Imbiss, Erfrischungsgetränken und sogar einem Frühstück waren wir für den ersten Tag so gut ausgerüstet, dass wir am ersten Abend gar nicht mehr los wollten und nur noch diesen traumhaften Ausblick genießen wollten. Dieser Balkon wurde unser zweites Zuhause - die Sonnenaufgänge waren unbeschreiblich. Tipp: Fernglas nicht vergessen ! Die Aussicht könnte nirgends besser sein - die gesamte Bucht Neapels liegt einem zu Füßen. Das Apartment ist sehr großzügig und hell. Die hohen stuckverzierten Decken erinnern an einen Palazzo. Alles ist sehr liebevoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Die ganze Wohnanlage ist sehr sicher und ruhig. Mit der Seilbahn (Funicolare), die keine 5 Minuten entfernt ist, läßt sich alles schnell erreichen. Dieses Apartment ist wirklich außergewöhnlich und kein Hotel in Neapel kann so eine spektakuläre Aussicht bieten. Wir werden ganz bestimmt wieder kommen. Liebe Paola, lieber John vielen vielen Dank !

The best decision I made planning our trip

This is an elegant and very comfortable property with two gracious and welcoming hosts. Everything was spotless. It was well designed and equipped with everything we needed. The views from the balcony were breathtaking. What a delight to see the city and the famous Bay of Naples, including Vesuvius and the island of Capri in the distance. It's a nice neighbourhood and we had no problem getting around the city. All in all an excellent choice and I'd like to say once again how grateful we are to Paola and John for their hospitality, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Bright and airy studio with great views

We took a taxi from the airport to the studio. Paola and John were waiting on the pavement to greet us, which at 11.30pm was rather welcome. John is bilingual in english and italian and Paola's english is very good. Because we were late they had made us some supper, which included a bottle of beer which we shared sitting at the table on the balcony looking out over the city. They had also got things for breakfast the following morning. The studio is a big and airy room with lovely large windows and the balcony. You look out over the Bay of Naples and can see the constant coming and going of ships. It was wonderful. You can also see the Centro Historica and the Spanish Quarter from the balcony. We almost didn't choose the studio because at 3km from the centre of town we thought it too far from the action, but we would have been quite wrong. There is a funicular right by the flat and taxis and as long as you agree on the fares beforehand they are not expensive. We got four taxis when we were in Naples and the only expensive one was the one we forgot to agree the fare on. The studio is delightful. Paola was a art conservationist and the furnishing is clean, simple and well laid out, and there are a number of individual solutions to the practical aspects of sectioning off the room which are ergonomically satisfying and visually so too. I particularly liked the wonderful and large chandelier. Paola and John were a delight. They were so kind; they helped us put together an itinerary, suggested where best to eat and organised a taxi for us when we left. We were in Italy for a week and at the studio for three nights. It was a really good beginning to our holiday.

A great apartment with fantastic views

Paola and John were very genial hosts who did everything they could to help make our stay memorable. The apartment is a good size for two people and the high ceilings make it very light and airy. The view across the bay to Capri is wonderful to wake up to and the panoramic view from the balcony covers a large part of the old city, Vesuvius and the mountainous coast down to Sorrento, and a large sweep of Naples bay around to Posillipo. The apartment feels very secure as it is in the highest of three blocks within a gated and guarded complex. The entrance to the complex is on a busy road but in fact you cannot hear traffic at all within the apartment and even on the balcony the sound of traffic is quite distant as you are high above it. Access to the bustling central areas of Naples is very straighforward via the funiculars but they stop running at 10pm so a taxi or a strenuous walk up hill might be required if you stay out late. Overall, we had a great time in Naples and this apartment was the ideal base for a week in and around this fascinating city.

The stand out features are the extra large studio room with south facing windows and balcony that look over the whole of the Golfo di Napoli (Bay of Naples). The views are trully stunning taking in the volcano Vesuvio, Capri and Port of Mergelina.

Very close by (5mins) you can catch the funicular up to Vomero, the quartiere above us or down to the heart of our quartiere, Chiaia. Switch over to the Metro and you can visit most of Napoli and its historic sites.
