The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Check bedroom closets and drawers, and bathroom cabinets for personal items. Fold and return any blankets used to the closets.
Empty the dishwasher. Remove all food from the refrigerator and freezer and wipe out any spills. Remove all trash from the home and place in dumpster at the entrance of Resort Rodanthe Rd.
Double-check that all windows, doors, and sliders are closed and locked securely. Report any damages that occurred during your stay and issues with lights/bulbs and batteries.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Early check-in at 2 PM, subject to availability, for an additional $100 fee. Confirmation and billing provided after booking.
Please do not leave trash outside on deck overnight. Please keep the AC set at 72. Please do not charge fridge or freezer settings.

Accommodations and views were awesome!!! There was a glitch with the elevator, and water pipes froze halfway through our trip, but hosts were on top of all concerns, very responsive, and even refunded half our cost since we had to leave early with no water. We would definitely stay at the Surfer's Corner again!!!

Thank you for the kind words, Dean! We are so glad you enjoyed the views and renovated accommodations at Surfer's Corner. We truly appreciate your patience during your stay. As you mentioned, we were hit by a historic '100-year' cold weather event that was highly abnormal for Rodanthe. Temperatures crashed into the low 20s, with wind chills plummeting to sub-zero levels. Because our condo and many other island properties are elevated, the pipes were left exposed to these extreme conditions. This wasn't a localized issue; in fact, 90% of service calls along the coast during this storm were for frozen pipes, as local infrastructure simply wasn't designed for such an intense arctic blast. We have invested a lot of time into making this condo one of the best at the property, and our guests' comfort is our absolute priority. This is why we made it a point to be available 24/7 and provided a refund for the inconvenience. We have already taken extra measures to ensure the property is even better prepared for any future weather surprises. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Rodanthe soon!
