Very good

It was really good for family getaway, 5 adults 2 kids. Lots of room, super kitchen, pool was fun for kids. Unfortunately the kids were quite noisy in the pool, and we got a note from neighbors admonishing us! Sorry. But they’re from MT so a pool was special! The place in general needs some TLC, didn’t have enough warm bedding for cool nights, needed a code for the thermostat which we weren’t given, property mgmt provides skimpy towels. It’s a very convenient location to all things La Jolla. All in all, we were quite happy at the Sunny Dream Home.
Great house. Little outdated but that didn’t bother us. The pool was great. The master bed was very comfy.

This home was perfect for our last minute getaway. The pricing was very reasonable for La Jolla and the home was as advertised. Everything was perfect!

The house felt like a home. Very spacious and comfortable. We tried using the hot tub on our last day but couldn’t figure out how to work it. Otherwise all was a great stay.
House was fine for a four day trip but not for a longer stay.
Outside area only had a few old chairs and no table to eat on.
House is dated but clean. Bathrooms are very nice. Good kitchen to have morning breakfast

The home is perfect for families. It's close to the beach and love the layout.
We loved our stay at Hidden Valley. The house was roomy and great for families. The location is close to the beach, downtown La Jolla and accessible to almost all freeways. There was a small problem with the water temperature but a call was made and someone was there in less than 1/2 hour. I truly appreciated that. Overall, I completely recommend the house!
Overall good. Roomy. TVs did not work, Jacuzzi was not heated and had the drain cap missing, no hot water in one of the bathrooms, older smell.

La Jolla Stay
The residence is clean and worked fine for our family. The pool, however, advertised on front page of the listing, and important to most families on vacation, is not heated. Once I called the management company I found that it cannot be heated. Too cold, in September, for our kids to get in.

Peter, thank you for your feedback following your stay. We are very sorry to hear about your disappointment regarding the pool heat. The pool is not advertised with the option to add heat for an additional fee. We encourage guests to call our 24/7 Guest Services line with any questions during the booking process. We hope we have the opportunity to host you again in the future.
This property could be lovely if it were better cared for. We were very disappointed to find a green pool, obviously neglected.
I had booked this property months in advance, so there was no reason for such neglect. The house itself was basically clean, although the upstairs carpet needed a deep cleaning, and most of the windows and sliding doors were dirty, and there were many cobwebs. It is close to the beach and is a nice space, but definitely needs some attention.

Lovely property, feels like home.
This is one of our favorite homes to stay at in California. My first impression was that it feels like home, very clean, which we appreciated a lot, we did not wear shoes in the house. The house has a very smart design and very inviting - lots of ceiling day light windows, art pieces, mirrors. The kitchen is very nice, clean and upgraded. We like to cook breakfast at home and we were enjoying this very convenient sitting and kitchen. I loved all the plants inside and outside. The house just has a feel that you are vising your parents, not a rental property feel. I really hope to come back and hope to find it as inviting and clean as we found it first time. I really appreciated all the art and books, so many very interesting books. It also has lots of games which we did not have time to play. Upstairs is very roomy with a very large closet and bathroom. Lots of places to sit and chat and visit inside the house. Backyard is very clean and beautiful as well. We loved the quiet , beautiful neighborhood. Once we even walked from the beach, however it was faster to drive there. We loved the town too, many really nice places to eat at. We had 7 people in our family, I would say it would be a more convenient stay for 6 people because of the sleeping arrangements. But other then that it was perfect.

Sub Par - lot of improvements could be made
It’s not in my nature to leave detailed reviews, but feel I should for this one. Pictures indicate the property a bit outdated - and the reality of the property aligns. I was however not anticipating the lack of cleanliness and just how dated this was. The Vacasa (booking/property agent through VRBO) fee is VERY expensive, so we were not happy to find the pool green + full of leaves, stains in the carpet, crumbs in the kitchen, floors unswept, etc. The toilet upstairs was broken (fortunately someone was sent a few days in to correct), a dated tank less water heater made for very long showers (took several minutes to heat up) and the ice machine did not work.
The home is located alongside a heavily trafficked road, so we heard highway noises frequently throughout the stay. Though I will say it’s about a mile walking distance from the ocean, which was nice for us. The home is of decent size but ambiance is heavily impacted by how outdated everything is. We ultimately enjoyed our stay but feel the fine details paired with the cost of this particular property + the Vacasa fee - would ultimately prohibit us from staying here again. We will not recommend this property to others nor vacasa as a property agent.

Nice but not perfect
A few comments on the property to help others in the future: 1) the property is a bit dated - not all of the window cranks work, furniture has covers over it, upstairs carpet is stained in a few spots, sliding door screens fall off the track and don't slide well, 2) there are a number of family pictures and photos that some may find a bit weird, 3) the upstairs master bed is NOT a King but a Queen and needs to be replaced - it squeaks and is not comfortable, 4) the pool is shaded for more than half the day, the spa CAN'T BE USED as it and the pool are NOT HEATED (the pool is cleaned on Friday's and a lot of leaves fall in the pool and the surrounding areas; the pool plaster needs to be redone) 5) the downstairs twins include a trundle bed and the mattresses should be replaced. There is no chair or table in the Master.
The space is quite large and roomy and only an easy 1.1 mile walk to the beach. The house is next to La Jolla Parkway which has a lot of traffic that you can hear if the windows are open.
The space with the piano has a table in it with four chairs, not the table and two chairs as shown. The kitchen has lots of everything, except a coffee maker, there's a Keurig. Also, be careful of the up-vent over the cooktop as several of us hit our heads on it (it's probably a foot too low). The master deck has no furniture on it.
Overall, the space suited our needs but we expected more for the price. The house definitely needs some attention.

Spacious, beautiful, but some minor issues.
First, I’d like to point out, what people see with their eyes and have access to, they will assume it is part of everything. This is in reference to the jacuzzi/hot tub that is connected to the pool. I’ve read from the reviews of this place that other people thought it was part of what they pay for, but it isn’t. It was not annotated well or properly, or obviously in the description of this property that it wasn’t included. So, please, make it more specific in the description of this place that the jacuzzi is not part of your rental.
Also, people pay a cleaning fee for this place, and a lot of it, you’d expect it to be very good to excellent cleanliness, but it almost met it. The pool area and backyard was full of leaves everywhere that my friends and I had to clean out the leaves ourselves in order to swim in it as there was a lot in the pool. The inside of the house though was very clean I would like to add.
When my friends and I were here, we didn’t realize you’d have to be very quiet, even during the day time. We were just enjoying the back courtyard one day and pool area, playing music during the day time, a reasonable time in the weekend, and we get a complaint that we were being too loud. We weren’t even rambunctious, we were just swimming and playing music. We are all in the military. We just wanted to enjoy some relaxation, rest, and fun, especially on Memorial day. I’m not blaming the property or managers for this or owners, but for anyone wishing to book here, swim, and play music outside as you swim, even at a decent time in the day, you will get complained about.
These were my gripes of the place, but it was overall a good stay. The property is beautiful. The amenities were good, except the grill outside that didn’t work when we tried using it, out of propane. The bedrooms were huge, and as people say, the place is relaxing. We are from San Diego, so we just mostly stayed at this place. I do recommend this place, so if you are in SD area, book this place.
