About this property

Lone Rock Guest House, 20 acres minutes from the North Umpqua River

Lone Rock Guest House is a 4000 square foot Ranch style house on 20 acres less than one mile from the pristine steelhead waters of the North Umpqua River. It is located minutes from North Umpqua Highway 138 and the gateway to the Umpqua National Forest, Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake Lodge.

We grew up in Oregon – Nicole in Roseburg, Don in Portland.

We love to travel. We love the people we meet when we do. Travel expands our minds and revives our spirits.

Our goal is to provide an ideal home for you and yours to have a wonderful vacation experience. The kind of place we like to rent when we are abroad. To that end, we have made a conscious decision to furnish our home with higher quality cookware, bedding and other lovely doodads that make a home a wonderful place to stay.

We hope this house becomes the home of many wonderful memories for years to come.

Why they chose this property

Nicole grew up in Roseburg. The Knudston's have been family friends for decades. When their family home, and everything in it, burned to the ground in the Archie Creek Fire, Nicole kicked our design office into gear immediately to design a new home as quickly as possible. Lone Rock Guest House is the result. It is located next to Britt Creek on twenty acres of forested land less than a mile from the North Umpqua River, one of the West's premier steelhead rivers.

The land is stunning, the air fragrant and quiet. Glide, Oregon is the gateway to Crater Lake National Park, Diamond Lake Resort, the recently completed, eighty mile long North Umpqua Trail, and Umpqua National Forest.

What makes this property unique

In order to help sustain the property for future generations, we designed the house with a separate sleeping wing with vacationing travelers. The bedrooms are furnished with bedding and rugs from Pendleton Woolen Mills. The fully appointed kitchen features a 16 foot long island designed for large family gatherings.

Each bedroom has access to the outside, floor to ceiling windows around the house bring the landscape and light directly into the home.

The Knudston family has lived in the area for generations. The house is filled with historical images and art from the area.
