Cozy, perfect for a couple, beautiful view. Nice setup in kitchen, large oven, new electric stovetop, huge refrigerator. We cooked several meals. Very comfy, large bed. Good water pressure in shower. Everything very clean. Last half-mile to house is on dirt/gravel road, bumpy but drivable. Driveway is tight and a little steep, but our truck fit. Lots of hiking in area. Communication with host excellent.

The casita was adequate. The basics were there, but there are a few things that would have made this a more enjoyable stay. First, the roads in are all loose gravel and rough, as is the steep hill to the property. Parking is tricky and puts you at an awkward unsafe angle, so getting in and out is no fun, and dangerous. As to the casita- it has NO decoration whatsoever, which we found depressing. There is only one trash can inside, so we needed to devise our own for bathroom trash. I had to go to the store to get Kleenex, and a proper dish sponge since we wash dishes by hand so there’s something to eat with and drink from. The only television is in the bedroom, and I made the suggestion to the owner to put it on the large blank wall in the main room and rearrange the sofa and table to improve the flow and use. The view at sunset is very nice, and with a few changes, this would be a decent place. However, we will not be back.

I’m quite surprised by the review. It was not at all what you told me after I let you check in hours early. The listing photos show what the casita looks like so it should be no surprise. Like we discussed, it’s still brand new so we haven’t decorated extensively but we also like the clean, non-cluttered look which is shown in the photos. The 1 mile of gravel road should be no surprise. It’s a short drive in the desert country away from the freeway - desirable for many people trying to get away. As for parking, you didn’t even park in the actual parking spot where it’s level, choosing rather to park sideways on the driveway. I’m guessing you missed the dish sponges - there’s one under the sink and one on the side of the sink. Same for the bathroom garbage which is under the bathroom sink. Tissues are on the kitchen shelf. Perhaps you’re upset that I didn’t agree to allow you to rearrange our casita? Either way, I’m sorry for your review. I try to be very clear with my description so that guests can relax in the peaceful desert country casita and enjoy the stunning views.

We want others to enjoy our casita by getting out to the beautiful desert with the stunning views.

The location is tucked away from the freeway but close enough to get almost anywhere. Whether hiking, biking, going out to eat, touring the city or working virtually, our casita is the perfect place to unwind. The evening breeze, desert sounds and city lights with Mountain View’s are sure to impress.
