Great house and great hosts
We had a great family holiday in the Eindhoven area. Hugo and Laila were great hosts - both welcoming and helpful. Communication was timely, open and honest. After an initial meet and greet we were largely left to ourselves but they were always on hand to give assistance when requested. We even asked for ideas for things to do with the children and they produced a list which we made good use of. The garden is well trimmed and everything is well looked after. The surrounding village is immaculate. It made me reflect on the somewhat poor state of my own garden at home. The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are steep but we knew this before we booked and there's a retractable barrier across the door. My girls - 6 and 8, were duly careful on the stairs and had no issues. The kitchen utensils and crockery are very well stocked and the dishwasher is quick at its job. The Wifi was good - I didn't notice any buffering or slowness when both I and my partner were streaming different videos. She also needed to do a video conference for work and again, there were no wifi issues.

Zauberhaft

Great 18 day stay
The owners of the house are super nice and friendly. The owner found out I had an electric car and bought a charging cable before we arrived. I stayed there with my 2 boys (3yo and 7yo) and parents. The outdoor was perfect for my boys to burn their energy. We would definitely return and stay there again!

About the host

Hosted by Hugo and Leila Greefhorst

Host profile image
Hello, I am Leïla Greefhorst-Bali. Born and raised in Morocco and I got to know my husband in Casablanca. I have been living in the Netherlands since 1993. It took some time getting used to the Dutch language, the people, the climate, the life; everything is different. My 3 children have a Moroccan first name and a Dutch last name. In the guesthouse, you see lots of Moroccan details.

Why they chose this property

Food is very important in our culture. I love to cook and be a hostess. Ever since I was a little girl, I have helped my mother in the kitchen. She especially taught me the ingredients and how to prepare the meals. Many different herbs and spices find their way into food. When we are on holiday in Morocco with my family (and for me that is also coming home), we get fresh bread rolls from the bakery in the morning and after breakfast we prepare the food for lunch, which is our 'most important' meal. We cook for hours. After dinner, the siesta and then, for example, a nice walk on the beach or shopping. At 6 o'clock tea with biscuits and a sandwich and late in the evening we eat a light meal. A soup, a salad or something similar.

The guesthouse is also used for Moroccan coking workshops. If you follow a workshop with me, we will start preparing the mint tea (Moroccan beer :-). Nice and sweet and full of flavor! What we cook together afterwards varies. Depending on the season, we cook a varying 4-course menu together. In Moroccan cuisine, sweet and savory often go together in the dishes.
