About this property
Attractive new timber frame house on 7 acres in Ripton's Green Mountains.
Beautiful, newly-built, 2-bedroom timberframe home on 7 private wooded acres in Vermont's Green Mountains directly adjacent to the Middlebury Breadloaf Campus. A large master bedroom has a king bed. The second bedroom is a smaller combination living space and bedroom with a queen Murphy bed and pocket doors for privacy. Both bedrooms are connected to two full bathrooms with heated floors, a large bathtub and shower. The baths can be divided to create two private full bathrooms serving each bedroom. An open and fully equipped kitchen will meet all cooking needs. The 1100 square foot home offers genrous views of nature with windows in all rooms and directions. A fully glassed and screened three-season room adds an additional 200 square feet with a large dining table. This porch is comfortable and usable only during warmer seasons. A wood stove in this room is NOT available for use during rentals. Dining space is also available at the kitchen island and three-season porch when temperatures permit. Enjoy short walks or trips to Green Mountain trailheads, Robert Frost's Summer Home, Moosalamoo National Recreation Area, and the Rikert Cross Country Ski Center. The Middlebury Snow Bowl for downhill skiers is a 1.5 mile drive from the property. The house can comfortably accommodate 4 persons in two private rooms. Two fold-out beds could sleep two additional persons within other shared spaces.
Ripton is accessed through the beautiful and winding scenic route 125, with Ripton center the home of a nicely stocked and historic country store offering groceries, other living essentials and fuel. The charming town of Middlebury, home of Middlebury College, which offers extensive shopping and dining is a 23-minute drive. Burlington is 44 miles.
A four-wheel-drive vehicle is strongly-recommended for winter access to the property.
