About this property
Mountain View Cottage in Historic Palmer Lake
Escape to this cozy 3-bedroom, 2-bath retreat in the heart of Palmer Lake, Colorado. Wake up to views of Chautauqua Mountain and Sundance Mountain, from your private front porch or backyard with covered patio.
This beautifully updated 1900s cottage blends modern comfort with classic charm, featuring a smart thermostat, full kitchen, gas and electric fireplaces, and two private fenced yards (front and back). It’s ideal for families, couples, or remote workers seeking peace and adventure.
The two main bedrooms have king-size beds, and the third bedroom offers a queen. Unwind with the 55" Smart TV—stream your favorite apps like Netflix or Fubo. The 3-season (no heat or A/C) detached studio provides extra lounging space, perfect for reading, watching TV, or relaxing. On-site washer and dryer included.
The raised wood deck with views of the Palmer Lake Star is perfect for morning coffee or afternoon relaxation. (Closed in winter.)
Stroll into town for local coffee, dining, and boutique shopping, or head to the 36-acre Palmer Lake Recreation Area for paddleboarding, fishing, hiking the Santa Fe Trail, or a game of pickleball. The Reservoir Trailhead is just a short walk away. You’ll also be within walking distance of Glen Park, where you’ll find a playground, picnic facilities, tennis, and trail access.
Palmer Lake is a charming small town with restaurants, shops, and an old-fashioned candy store. Everything in the town of Palmer Lake is within walking distance. The nearby town of Monument is just seven minutes away, offering more dining and shopping options, including Safeway, Walgreens, and Starbucks. Popular attractions like Colorado Springs, the U.S. Air Force Academy, Garden of the Gods, the Colorado Renaissance Festival, and the Pikes Peak region are all a short drive away. Downtown Denver is just an hour north.
One friendly, well-trained, housebroken dog is welcome. A $25 pet fee applies per stay. Your dog must be crated if left alone, and we provide pet waste bags for your convenience.
Please note: Trains regularly pass through Palmer Lake and may sound their whistles, often at night. The house is well-insulated, and the tracks are about a quarter mile away, but you might still hear it, particularly when windows are open.
This is a no-smoking property (no tobacco, marijuana, or vaping).
