Cumbric Cottage - Cosy Lake District Escape
Cumbric Cottage is a small, quirky retreat in Lamplugh, on the edge of the Lake District National Park. With cosy charm, superfast Starlink WiFi, a Smart TV (Netflix & Disney+ included), and a well-equipped kitchen, it’s perfect for relaxing after exploring. Walk to The Countryman Inn, The Gather Café, and Ennerdale Brewery, or enjoy nearby gems like Cogra Moss, Loweswater, and Whinlatter Forest. The ideal base for both adventure and unwinding.
Welcome to Cumbric Cottage
Nestled in the peaceful village of Lamplugh, right on the edge of the Lake District National Park, Cumbric Cottage is your cosy base for exploring one of the UK’s most beautiful regions. Small, quirky, and full of character, this cottage offers both comfort and charm – perfect for couples, families, or solo travellers seeking a retreat in nature.
The Space
Cumbric Cottage is thoughtfully furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The living area is warm and inviting, with a Smart TV offering Amazon Prime and Disney+ for cosy evenings in. Superfast Starlink broadband ensures you can stream, work remotely, or stay connected with ease – a big step up from typical rural WiFi in Cumbria!
The kitchen is well equipped with oven, hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, and toaster, as well as pots, pans, and utensils – ideal whether you’re cooking hearty breakfasts before a hike or winding down with a home-cooked dinner.
Upstairs, you’ll find comfortable sleeping arrangements including a bunk bed (top bunk suitable for ages 6+ only) and a main bedroom designed to feel restful after days spent exploring. The bathroom is modern and well-kept, with hot showers to revive you after outdoor adventures.
For longer stays, the cottage also has a washing machine and electric clothes rail, plus an iron and ironing board for convenience.
The Location
What makes Cumbric Cottage special is its setting. Step outside and you’re just minutes from Cogra Moss, a tranquil reservoir surrounded by woodland – perfect for a gentle walk or a family picnic. For a longer outing, you can extend your walk up Felldyke Fell for sweeping views of the Western Fells.
You’re also a short drive from hidden gems like Ennerdale Water and Loweswater, two of the quieter lakes in the region. For mountain biking and forest adventures, head to Whinlatter Forest, famous for its MTB trails and red squirrel sightings. And if you’d rather stay local, enjoy a pint at the Countryman Inn or coffee and cake at The Gather Café – both within walking distance.
