The Experience
Arrive, slow down, and savor. Whether you are celebrating a milestone, reconnecting with friends, or hosting a small retreat, each area is designed for easy gathering. Sophisticated enough for entertaining. Relaxed enough for real connection. The main level open kitchen, dining, and living space suits bourbon paired dinners or unhurried mornings with coffee. Wood, brass, and leather echo aging oak while large windows bring in soft country light.

On the lower level, a private wellness suite delivers rare recovery on the Bourbon Trail. Two full body massage chairs provide deep, restorative sessions beside softly lit salt wall panels. Guests consistently call these chairs their favorite part of the stay. Step into the infrared sauna to release tension, then finish with a warm towel from the custom towel bar. It is a sensory reset between tastings, meetings, and celebrations.

Adjacent to the wellness suite, Rick Row 7 sets the mood for flights and conversation. Rich textures, dimmable lighting, and bourbon tones create a modern speakeasy feel. The table features a group friendly puzzle that invites quiet connection while you sample your latest finds.

The Annex: Golf, Cinema, and Strategy
A few steps from the main house, the private annex adapts to your plans. Challenge friends on the golf simulator with clubs provided. Host movie night on the projection screen with a curved display. Gather your team for focused planning. Flexible seating and a popcorn machine complete the experience.

There were more than enough good things at this home. The weather prevented us from outdoor activities like pool, hot tub, or fire pit. We had ample room for personal privacy with more than enough bathrooms. We were doing Bourbon touring and only 5 minutes from Bardstown was great. We would stay at this place again.

Five-star stay near the Bourbon Trail

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Rickhouse Retreat in Bardstown. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how thoughtfully this home was designed — beautiful interiors, incredibly cozy, and so many fun and relaxing amenities. We loved everything from the hot tub and sauna to the massage chairs, and there was truly something to enjoy around every corner. Rosa was wonderful to work with and had great communication throughout our stay. Everything we needed was provided, and the home was perfectly set up for a comfortable, stress-free getaway. The location was also perfect — private and secluded enough to truly unwind, yet so close to the Bourbon Trail and all that Bardstown has to offer. It was the best of both worlds. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend Rickhouse Retreat to anyone looking for a memorable, relaxing, and beautifully curated stay.

We left wishing we’d planned to stay longer!!

What an incredible place! We only stopped for one night during our road trip, and our group of six quickly realized we didn’t have nearly enough time here. We arrived tired from a James Beam tour and spent the first hour just walking through the home saying, “wait, look at this,” again and again. You can tell Rosa puts real thought into every detail. The sauna and massage chairs were exactly what we needed after a long day. We melted into those chairs, enjoying the quiet. Later we opened the bottles we’d picked up on the trail and gathered in the speakeasy lounge. It felt like going out without leaving the house! The biggest surprise was the annex building. We hadn’t planned to use the golf simulator on a short stay, but we ended up watching a show on the huge curved screen like it was our own private theater. Check-in was simple, communication was easy, and the house just works. It feels comfortable, thoughtful, and designed for groups who want to unwind in style. Next time, we’ll plan for at least 4 nights, maybe even 5!
