2/10 Terrible

The staff were incredibly helpful, attentive, and polite. They did everything in their power to improve our stay and provide any help they were allowed. Whoever is running this building needs to be forcibly ousted and blacklisted from the hotel industry. The elevators were piecemeal, operating on 3 different systems, which prevented any coordination, and required pushing 3 buttons to summon all the elevators. This created a fiasco while the building was at capacity. The shower in our first room didn’t have hot water, so on the second day of our stay we were moved. Our new room didn’t have cold water because they had to tighten it so hard to get the water above body temperature. In our new room we were surprised to find that the wall panel for the AC didn’t work, and it took some time to correct the room temperature as it had been set to 75 degrees before we were moved, which created an interesting sense of urgency to figure out why we could not get the system to respond. After figuring out that in some rooms you must use the wall unit, and in others you must use the AC unit itself. The constant refrain of the weekend was “what the **** is this place?” It became abundantly clear that the owners were willing to spend money on tchotchkis, cheap wall ornaments, and brightly colored distractions from the very real, very necessary parts of a hotel that are generally expected to work seamlessly which they have clearly neglected for decades. The problems with this hotel are myriad.
